22BLUE Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 He would be an excellent signing as a 6 month loan, not convinced about a permanent deal especially as he then has less to prove after euro 2016. However will be happy if he signs and proves me wrong! I'm pretty confident that any player, once integrated into our squad, will be wanting to prove themselves. Regardless of whether they are trying to get a spot in a national team.
chapero82 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Can you remember the days when Beckford had a good record? Stats mean nothing at times
Robin JD Popley Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I would like to see other sources confirm said deal, we all would, but before the lynch mob comes out against Ben Jacobs remember that Geoff Peters (also of Talksport) was also ridiculed about Esteban when he signed. Geoff tweeted 48 hours before the news was confirmed that Esteban said he was coming and that MacArthur was a smokescreen. People said, 'Oh what does he know?' Turns out he was right all along. I'm hasten to add Geoff also called the Huth signing three weeks before it was completed. We may not know anymore today but be patient. My gut instinct is why would Ben Jacobs jeopardise his growing reputation for the sake of his loyalty to his club/our club? I think Remy will join.
Guest Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Wouldn't be the first time he jeopardised his reputation

EnglishOxide Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Even if we do get him, he will be 3rd or 4th choice. I think he will play in the event of Vardy getting injured rather than the deeper Okazaki/Leo role. What's also worth considering is that quite often he plays up front on his own. Partnering up in a 442 could show us another side to him.

You may well be right but equally you can't measure the validity of Jacobs against Geoff Peters just because they both work at Talksport especially when you see how much Talksport come out with at times. Reputations in sports reporting are only as good as the last correct one, i can't say i've noticed anyone being 100% correct. I hanen't noticed Geoff saying much about this either
Jacnah Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 28 Goals over 44 starts in the Prem with QPR, Newcastle and Chelsea. not bad at all. he is always in the right place at the right time, knows where the goal is and has some pace and ability about him. anyone turning there noses up at this need to get real. its not a question of anybody turning their noses up. I trust the staff to bring the right players in and if they want this guy then that's good enough for me. My only concern is his injury record - he may well be brilliant....if he can play.
Webbo Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 With just 15 games to go and the chance of a medal surely even the laziest player would make an effort. If he helps get over the line then that's all that matters.

lgfualol Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Wasnt he so awful against Arsenal because he strained his calf and was running around still?
The Year Of The Fox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Chelsea, QPR and Newcastle. Not teams you'd associate with team spirit are they? Feels a bit desperate to me.
chapero82 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Something must be going down if one of our own players are commenting on him
st albans fox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Wasnt he so awful against Arsenal because he strained his calf and was running around still? I believe this to be the case

Grey Fox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Something must be going down if one of our own players are commenting on him What else could he say? I'm not answering that because it's not happening.

Fridgechef Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 You cannot judge an individual based on a team. Newcastle are shocking, but I would happily have winjaldum here, for example.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 If Chelsea had accepted an £11.5m bid for a striker, surely there would be someone who would know about it other than some Leicester fan in Dubai. Why hasn't a journalist with links to Chelsea confirmed it yet? I still think it's nonsense.
Eastwellfox Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Cricky moaning about Remy.! Elvis Hammond anybody!!
Jfox90 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 I like how active we've been trying to find a striker according to rumours, 50/50 on remy, if we get him, get him confident again, 100% fit and adapt him to pressing high energy game, we could have a lethal duo with him and vards upfront. I would still start okazaki albeit he's fit too
Heymister2015 Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 For some reason Chelsea started pre season 3 weeks before the season started! We aren't amateur like that! He'll be in the best condition he's ever been here! 28 goals in 44 is outstanding! Why are people moaning! He knows the league and has the ability to score vital goals! Yes he was poor away at arsenal! But he changed the game at our place!
Guest Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Cricky moaning about Remy.! Elvis Hammond anybody!! We're not signing (ankle) and wouldn't be in this situation so what's your point?
Tuna Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Consensus on Chelsea Shed End forum is, they are glad he (could) be going, he's injury prone, and 12 million quid for him is like christmas.
Guest Posted 30 January 2016 Posted 30 January 2016 Consensus on Chelsea Shed End forum is, they are glad he (could) be going, he's injury prone, and 12 million quid for him is like christmas. Are they the same people who thought Chelsea would win the league and we'd get relegated?
