BlueJoe Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 sorry but £22m is always a gamble on an organic entity that could get knocked over by a bus tomorrow. And even with the money coming into the club, none of us have any idea of our wage budgets, FFP adherence etc etc etc. And whatever our maximum spend is, £22m is a large part of it and if it turns out to be a bad spend, then it's £22m less to spend in future and £22m converted to nothing but a declining value of equity of no use on the pitch. Our club valued him at £X, were prepared to go to £X + y% - This was rejected so the only right decision is to walk away. sorry but business is business, risk is risk. Every deal comes to a point where risk vs reward balances off towards risk and a deal no longer becomes viable I'm glad you are not my accountant Yes I agree with you... I just value the reward to be higher than you do and obviously the club! Us winning the league or getting CL football is a massive reward against a small outlay in comparison!!! We play in a league to win it do we not... This year we have a chance of winning it never before and never again is it going to be ours to lose!!!
Foxxed Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Weve just signed a striker I believe. In your excitement you couldn't even spare the time for an apostrophe.
Tielemans63 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 The one that annoys me the most is Doumbia as that was clearly a realistic prospect. On loan would've been virtually risk-free too. I'm pretty sure he'd have chosen us over Newcastle as well.
Blackpool Fox 69 Posted 1 February 2016 Author Posted 1 February 2016 On a positive note, we are done with the Stokies this season, they are spending loads!
Bagworthblue Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 look guys.... we wanted we tried we tried again we maybe ****ed up a bit we failed but we tried and there is nothing to say it will make any difference. our record signing last january wasn't the one who saved us last year! A signing could have made us world beaters, it could have disrupted our squad, it could have taken away our under dog status, it might make no difference, vardy may get injured, he may not. Time to start hoping we mash the Pool tomorrow! 15 games to go - lets hope we can continue in the same vein as the 23 games we have played so far.
Number 6 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Happy with the window. Think January has always been a time for opportunistic buying (Morgan, Mahrez) rather than splashing money in a panic (Kram). A new striker isn't a silver bullet. These players have got us here and only have 15 games to go. No cups, just prem games. Everyone was buzzing with the Stoke performance and we've still not seen Amartey. Plus Jeff and James are to come back. We were good enough to do something incredible before, and we're still good enough.
JayT - Always A Fox! Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Ronaldinho, Robinho or Michu it is then I can see one of these happening. Think the owners will take to having a former Brazil international for shirt sales on its own. (Maybe not Michu).
vulpes0763 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Then why was our primary target someone we should have known would cost 23m if we couldn't afford it? It's not Ranieri's fault, it's not Top or Vichai's but it is someone's. Whether that's Rudkin or Walsh, we clearly either lacked the right targets or how to secure them. are you seriously blaming the same head of scouting who has secured the services of some wonderful players that play for a team currently at the top of the premiership? Deluded is my opinion of you
dorsetboy Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 am i not the only who not thinking about the vardy getting injured scenario ? im dissapointed because the last few games teams have sat back against vardy and doubled up on mahrez yes we have scored but we needed someone else with quality to take a bit of pressure of them to give them a bit more space

Lcfcwatto Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Strange that as it stands we've reduced our striking options in January. 15 games to go and massively reliant on Vardy. Not convinced by Okazaki or Ulloa. We are top of the league, what more can they do to convince you?
The Doctor Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 are you seriously blaming the same head of scouting who has secured the services of some wonderful players that play for a team currently at the top of the premiership? Deluded is my opinion of you Because being generally good at your job means it's impossible to have a bad day...
BlueJoe Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 are you seriously blaming the same head of scouting who has secured the services of some wonderful players that play for a team currently at the top of the premiership? Deluded is my opinion of you We have been led on a wild goose chase by Loic Remy... He probably isn't as deluded as you believe!

This year we have a chance of winning it never before and never again is it going to be ours to lose!!! That's bollocks! sorry but it's bollocks that you value the reward more than me - trust me on that one! Look NONE of us have any knowledge to be able to throw £5m quid around as if it were loose change because I certainly haven't seen the LCFC books - Have you? It's not as simple as saying - we will get £Xm for CL football so £22m is a snip. The £22m spend may not have any impact - he may get injured. It is not a certainty that £22 million spend will buy you CL football - it might increase your chances but equally it may not. Look I am pissed off. I wanted a striker - I wanted Musa but I am maintaining the level head that I hope the people at our club responsible for dealing with millions of £s are maintaining. £22m is a hell of a lot of money for a club currently valued at £140m
southfox66 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 I thought with us been top of the table The world would have been our oyster, that we be able to pick and choice from a few quality loans till end of the season and we looking a bit thin now on striking front
Foxxed Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 am i not the only who not thinking about the vardy getting injured scenario ? You're not, but with the deadline approaching at speed, some are just living with what they cannot change.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 There is a reason these clubs are getting rid...
BlueJoe Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 Everyone on here saying they trust the club... The scouts and Club management should be trusted etc etc should realise we have spent this window tracking, negotiating, flying helicopters back and forth in order to fill a gap that all those people you trust thought we needed. So badly needed that a helicopter was scrabbled in high winds to make something happen! I hate to say it but I trust these people and also think we need another striker if not two!!!

Deucalion Posted 1 February 2016 Posted 1 February 2016 So Stoke now have Shakira and Natalie Imbruglia?
