Jaspa Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 It totally is Javier has just taken Rosetta in his arms and said "Buy me a striker" Rosetta said to Javier "Sorry dear I have a budget and if I break it I get no bonus" It's a soap opera of epic proportions ! It's why we love it ahh fair enough. Maybe they can seak that into the Vardy movie Ashton Kurcher (Fuchs) : But the Nigerian was our only hope my love, all our dream will be gone to the wind Zach Effron (Vardy) : You know wot mate, I fink we can bang this League. c'mon lads and so on
matty98 Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 If we applied Matties logic we would never have signed Huth or Cambiassio and we would be playing Bolton away tomorrow in championship ! Daft think to say matt98 We're in a completely different situation to what we were when we signed Huth and Cambiasso so completely irrelevant.
onekeithweller Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Vardy is playing with a niggle If he get injured we have no credible alternative Someone has messed up ! Rudkins career with us could be on line ! Claudio wanted a striker and someone at the club didn't deliver. Have we made a fatal error and damaged our hopes of champions league football ? No.
WesMorganGod Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Vardy has no injury, Ranieri has explained this about 582953489341 times. He had a slight problem in mid january which he had a very small basic operation to fix, and the operation was 100% successful. He is totally fit, I don't know why its hard not to notice when he was running like 100 miles an hour against Villa and Stoke in the last prem games.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Not too bothered about not signing anyone, not really the type whose favourite part of football is when the Somalian Player of the Year is seen walking into the training ground.

Still a long way to go yet though, 'and to let 1 striker go without replacing, is criminal, considering where we are, yes we probally not going to in it, but didn't the owners say top 4 in 4 years?? And they will never get a better chance then now NEVER, the perfect chance to get top 4 and go to the next level! And the only reason we will not finish top 4 Because we thin on strikers and we didn't add qualify. Would be shocking, maybe should of lined a few more up, would of even took Rhodes to be fair, so hope to go we do finish top 4, because we will only have our selves to blame
shen Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 We've signed three players for the present and future in Gray, Amartey and Iversen, which is great! We've let go four squad players who have struggled to force their way into the team in Kramaric, Benalouane, De Laet and Lawrence. I think it has left us slightly more vulnerable, particularly at right back where I suppose Amartey would be backup for Simpson. Inexperienced at this level and not exactly used to playing right back could prove risky. On the other hand, we've gotten rid of four players who were itching to play and risked unsettling players, which means we have maybe jusr one high-profile player who could understandably be mopey about his situation (Inler). It seems we tried hard to find a striker who would improve the team, but for various reasons those deals didn't work out. I'm happy we didn't go for a stop-gap solution, a la Gayle or Diouf, who would likely have played a grand total of 40 minutes during the next six months. Good transfer window, because we kept all players we wanted to keep, got rid of most we wanted rid and managed to bring in some excellent talent in relatelively cheaply.
Jordan Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 If we're at a point where we think, "Gee, I wish we had Andrej Kramaric," then we're much more ****ed than I think it's even mathematically possible to be at this point. I would have preferred one more piece, but I can also see City going with a 4-5-1/4-3-3 in some games (Arsenal away, for example) with a Kanté-Drinkwater-Amartey midfield, and Gray or Albrighton at left wing with Mahrez on the right. If that's the case, it's slightly less urgent that we have a 4th striker.
Richard Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Would still rather this than panic buying a £10m striker who Ranieri/Walsh don't really want/rate.
EnglishOxide Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 If we can recall Kramaric in the event of injuries then its really not that bad.
Jordan Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 If we can recall Kramaric in the event of injuries then its really not that bad. From the way Kramaric was talking, I'm far from sure he'd even want to come back. That ship has sailed.
benpicko Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Ian Dennis BBC Radio 5 live senior football reporter "I think Leicester have had the best transfer window. They've kept hold of their best players, and made one of the signings of the season in Demarai Gray." I have to agree. Let's move on. Based on what?
EnglishOxide Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 He's got no choice if he's a Leicester player. We could be in a situation with 5 games to go with a striker injury crisis. We call him up, he fires us to the title and hasn't even played enough games to earn a medal
lestajigs Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Based on what? At a guess how important he was for Birmingham and what little we paid, oh and he's english
Guest Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Looking at it another way, if we took the ~23m we saved by not buying Musa, and invested it in our already superb physio department i reckon we could keep this entire squad in top shape and injury free for the next 30 years. Vardy at 60 would still be the fastest in the league. #moneywellspent
Sleepy Fox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Some of you whine and moan more than my old lady. We are top of the league with this squad FFS. Sack up, get behind the boys and lets get down to business.
My Nads Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Would still rather this than panic buying a £10m striker who Ranieri/Walsh don't really want/rate. Too right, you just know when a PL club gets on the phone to another club they want more money, sometimes ridiculous money! We have Dodoo if we every need a 4th striker and he's better than a lot of the crap we were being linked with. It looked like Kram had fallen below him anyway, so we didn't need to panic buy. We just had a few players on our want list, but the selling clubs wanted more than we were willing to pay. We had a budget and we stuck to it, we're not fookin QPR!

No people are just covering options, it can very quickly be go unlucky with injurys maybe we won't, but to go on the lines of were top now with this squad so we will be alright come May, is very very naive
Leicester_Numan Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Sometimes I really wonder what our fans expect us to do. Should we have our pants pulled down by clubs demanding ridiculous transfer fees, give in and stump up the cash? That's the kind of recklessness that we can well do without going back to. With the Remy deal it looks like we got caught up in a club v player battle with Chelsea wanting a permanent move and Remy wanting a loan, Chelsea eventually pulling the plug when negotiations got nowhere. Nothing we could do about it really. What were we supposed to do then? Panic buy with 2 hours left just to get any old striker in to fill the position? I would have loved to have seen a top class striker come in like everyone else would but I'm not that bothered and we're not actually that desperate for a striker. This squad has got us top of the league, Vardy is fit again, Shinji has started playing well, we still have last season's top scorer in Ulloa, the only reason we need a 4th striker is to cover injury and Kramaric can be recalled if necessary. On top of that, we still have Mahrez, Schlupp, Dodoo and Dyer who can all play up front if necessary. There's no need to panic, we're good enough to be top in February and there's no reason to believe we can't sustain it apart from the conventional wisdom the pundits have been using all season that we've continued to make a mockery of.

I trust the backroom staff, who have been nails to assemble this squad on a shoestring budget compared to their title rivals.

I would rather have Dodoo or Schlupp playing out of position than a 15 mill prima donna who we signed just to appease the masses
EnglishOxide Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Sometimes I really wonder what our fans expect us to do. Preferably not let our 4th striker go, announce we are looking for a new one, and then bid on a load of players hoping shit sticks. Teams who play 442 tend to have 4 strikers, so its only normal for fans to be concerned at us cocking up this window and only having 3. This would be the same whether we are bottom or top. I'm sure those behind the scenes will privately admit it's gone tits up too, so please stop this 'everything's fine' stuff. This window obviously didn't go fully to plan. The other concern of course is that if injuries do happen and we don't recall Kramaric, we are forced into 433/451 again which has been a failed experiment in all but the Man City game so far. Being forced to change formation from one which has been successful is not ideal for anybody and should be avoided at the business end of the season. I don't see why being top means people should just be happy for the rest of the season, ignore what's before us and stop holding opinions.
LCFCSOULBOY Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 People are saying that neither Arsenhole and Man Shitty strengthened with additional strikers. Just a reminder to those. They do have some quality on the bench. Weonly have Shingi and Leo. Don't really think that is the same. Lacking I think. God forbid Vardy gets a whack. We all know when we play these two teams Vards and Mahrez will get a kicking
Wizerud Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Trying to look at this positively. We've gained Gray and Amartey this window, lost Kram, Benny and Richie on loan. We only have 15 games left, one a week. Our main strikers are Vardy, Okazaki, Ulloa but I'd bet Mahrez and Gray could slot up front if need be. If we can recall Kram, all the better. And then there's Schlupp I think we're gonna be alright. Plus we don't have the potential distraction of a mercenary striker trying to fit in and expecting to be a starter. edit: added Iversen too!

I posted rhetorical questions and my opinion that there's no reason to panic. We've been playing 4-4-2 pretty much all season and Kramaric hasn't featured. We haven't actually needed a 4th striker so far, we can recall one if we do and there are other options if we don't. It's obviously better to be prepared for every eventuality as much as we can possibly be but I'm not going to panic about something that might but probably won't happen until it does.
