have we really messed up ?

Someone has certainly messed up, for Claudio to go onto television and say he was "very confident" or something that a striker would be in he's clearly been fed some information telling him one of the deals was a goer.

Whether we have messed up as a club we'll probably only know in the coming weeks.

Or maybe he was just playing tricks on the media. Wouldn't be the first time.

Why do people feel the need to seek trouble when there is (probably) none?

He also said he'd be happy if nothing happened. I'm sure he was confident of Remy getting over the line but Chelsea pulled the plug.

Come on mate this isn't North Korea and Kim Jong Un we are worshipping, someone has made an error to be that confident and nothing to come of it.

Nothing wrong with admitting it, it's not a disaster, what would you even have to gain from saying that to the media as a trick when you are actively bidding for striker?

I know we're about to bid for a striker, lets tell the media we want a striker to play a trick on them.

He told us at the start of the window that we weren't buying anyone.

Which is the smart thing to do when are you are looking to buy as we were.

It was a daft to admit towards the end we wanted a striker in hindsight.

Players who weren't getting a look in have left the club on loan and we've brought in 2 players with massive potential for reasonable fees, plus we'll soon have all our players back fit.

But by all means everyone to panic stations and get those knives out.

Another interesting point in all this in how it's panned out is that expectations have been kept low. Think if Remy or Must came in there'd be a lot of talk of chasing the title, whereas now we may remain underestimated.

I'm not saying this was the plan, as it is clear we wanted to get someone in, but just a potential benefit (along with those Ramadone mentions above).

I bet you we will see a few more injuries now.

Considering we haven't had many injuries up until now and fatigue is setting in towards the end of the season that's not unlikely. The idea that Arsene Wenger is saying to his players " Leicester didn't pay an extra £5 million for someone nobody had heard of until last week, go out and snap Vardy's legs" is a bit fanciful to say the least.

Good window, we keep hold of the likes of Vardy, Mehrez and Kante.

Brought in 3 young hunger players, Gray and Amartey will have a impact in the last 15 games. We are stronger than before the window in my eyes.

Player who have left have play very little part in our success so far this season.

No new players to unbalance the squad morale wise.

For me Man City have a big issue as I can see the players clocking off under a manager who on hes way out.

Ranieri said that we were looking for a striker.

Not did he say that we explicitly had bids accepted or what ever.

So it's pretty obvious that we had a look around and determined that there wasn't a player available, within our price range, wanting to come to us or at a club that wanted to sell. Why on Earth do you have to assume that someone here has ****ed up? Seriously sick of this negativity on here. We are top of the Premier league when most remember us being in the league One or pulling crowds of 10k at filbert Street. Get a grip and enjoy it.

Don't forget Demarai Gray can play the number 10 role as well (he said so in his first interview). Probably better then Mahrez in that position too.

Jesus effing Christ.... there's some utter 'tards on here.

Do you really think a football club can just pick to sign anyone they want?! I am certain that we did not sign a player, not because its someone's fault, but because our valuation of a player was not the same as the selling club. Whether 1 million or 10 million, it makes no difference. There's also the fact our approaches could and would have been rebuffed by some of the owning clubs as well as the terms of any potential deal not being agreeable by both parties, the agents and the player.

While we are doing exceptionally well and we could well in a season where we move to the next level, we are still not a team that has the ability to force players to put in transfer requests, lose loyalty payments and stiff over other clubs.

Stop sodding moaning!

Ranieri also said there was nobody coming in before he signed two first-team players and one youngster. Who knows? His comments about a forward may have had an ulterior motive, perhaps to get Ulloa to posh harder? Who knows.

Leicester did have three high-priority targets. They offered the money to Samp for Éder, complete with a contract offer that Inter couldn't match. They made a big bid for Musa, and either weren't prepared to overpay or deal with his agents (there had been reports from Russia and Nigeria that Musa was going to stay out throughout the week). And there was plenty of smoke in the Rémy deal, but it seems Chelsea screwed around with that one (and I can understand City preferring a loan-to-but move there instead of an £11m+ deal for a 4-month rental, even with prize money at stake).

The disappointing truth is that there just wasn't a bumper crop of good strikers available to buy this January.

I'm so confused lol

I'm not going to get too mad at any other Leicester fan, because I would have loved one more good forward to be brought in to shore up the squad and make a real statement of intent. I just don't think saying the club dropped the ball here is the whole story.

But I must make haste and ride my trusty steed, for lo! 'tis time to go grocery shopping.

The Telegraph article this morning said we did 'good business' in the window and my mate said that at least we haven't got a big money new player upsetting the fantastic spirit we have ...    but deep down I'm sure most people are disappointed that we didn't land a new striker.    But now, as many have said, we know exactly where we stand so lets get on with it.

Great owners, excellent manager, superb backroom staff, fantastic team, an amazing season so far ....    I'm feeling better already !!   :)

Hold on a mo....

Why then have Newcastle been able to aquire their targets? (And a Newcastle side flirting currently with relegation), or Stoke or Norwich or Bournemouth. .etc?

Of course targets can be identified and sometimes acquired?

Our manager publically stated he'd like us to get another striker. And we haven't.. when other teams have.

Whether they SHOULD have done (time will tell) is completely different to whether they could have done. They have and we haven't.

Based on Newcastle's recent transfer history, they're welcome to have any targets they have identified.

simple answer...look at the table, their spent millions have brought diddly squat.

Newcastles spending spree in 5 years is frankly embarrasing.Posers...all of them

so happy they did, and we havent.

I cannot be bothered to read any if the absolute drivel emanating from the finger tips of the slow minded, unimaginative doom merchants. I am fed up with it all.

"have we really messed up?" No!

That's not the point. I made it clear that their signings might not work. Any signing can be a risk. The point is they (and other clubs) HAVE identified targets and then acquired them. So it can be possible.

I also made it clear that our own manager publically disclosed that we wanted a striker..and then we haven't got one.

Personally I'm not too worried. Amartey I think is going to be a great bit of business. My point was we haven't acquired anyone else (when we said we wanted to) and other clubs have. Can't make that any more clear.
