nnfox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 A little disappointed with no striker coming in, but I'd rather we had no striker coming in than paying above the odds on a panic buy. I think Kramaric will not come back now. I think as he is on a long term loan and he is not a goalkeeper, he can't be recalled and I'm sure I read that Hoffenheim have an option to buy (although he might not want to stay if they get relegated). Expect to see Dodoo on the bench.
J.Lisemore Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Can we not use the loan market still? Nope. Well we could, but he wouldn't be able to play.
FoxInTheBirstallBox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I guess it's better than panic buying another **** like Beckford look at it that way
The Doctor Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 3 players who rarely made the bench out 2 better players in. Can't see how this has weakened us? Especially with recall options. Recalls aren't worth anything with the registration rules and we've lost two defenders and a striker, bringing in a midfielder and winger. Our squad is more imbalanced to say the least
Livid Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 It does, we've just sold the insurances for some temporary extra cash (or at reduced costs, depending on how you see it), with the option of re-calling them if need be. It would take a monumental cock-up for us to lose a Top Four spot. But I think it'd be best if we came back to this discussion and this thread at the end of the season in order to assess whether the club made the right decision to chase after or rather not chase after an additional striker and/or a new right-back. For all we know, they may as well have tried to get someone on board, but unsuccessfully. Or they decided against it because of the inflated prices in January. Who can tell right now? All in all, we ought to look forward to the remaining 15 fixtures and allow it to unfold as positively as possible. We've been part of such a tremendous ride, I can't see it stopping that soon. Enjoy it while it lasts. I agree with this, i'm disappointed but nothing is going to change now. We go with what we have, let's get behind them. Should we pull this off, the greater the glory for our team of journeymen and bargain buys. Come on Leicester boys!!
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Where did I say you should stop holding opinions? I posted rhetorical questions and my opinion that there's no reason to panic. We've been playing 4-4-2 pretty much all season and Kramaric hasn't featured. We haven't actually needed a 4th striker so far, we can recall one if we do and there are other options if we don't. It's obviously better to be prepared for every eventuality as much as we can possibly be but I'm not going to panic about something that might but probably won't happen until it does. Exactly this. Fact is , we've played 30 odd league and cup games so far and correct me if I'm wrong but 3 strikers seem to be doing ok so far.. Of course a 4th would've been nice, and I really would've liked to see Kram compete but so be it and if as mentioned he has a recall option then no problem. And when Schlupp is back he can help out also as an option late in a game. It's a frustrating scenario but based on 2/3s of the season so far no reason to suggest the final third should go tits up just because we didn't sign a new 4th striker.
Ric Flair Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 It's crazy to think we've actually weakened our squad in terms of numbers this transfer window. I'm happy with Gray and Amartey but I'm mystified we now only have 3 strikers. It's more hope than faith that the recent form of Okazaki should see us through and if Ulloa can perform like he did against Stoke then there'll be no problem. Glad there's a game tonight to forget about all this hysteria.
GaelicFox Posted 2 February 2016 Author Posted 2 February 2016 We've signed three players for the present and future in Gray, Amartey and Iversen, which is great! We've let go four squad players who have struggled to force their way into the team in Kramaric, Benalouane, De Laet and Lawrence. I think it has left us slightly more vulnerable, particularly at right back where I suppose Amartey would be backup for Simpson. Inexperienced at this level and not exactly used to playing right back could prove risky. On the other hand, we've gotten rid of four players who were itching to play and risked unsettling players, which means we have maybe jusr one high-profile player who could understandably be mopey about his situation (Inler). It seems we tried hard to find a striker who would improve the team, but for various reasons those deals didn't work out. I'm happy we didn't go for a stop-gap solution, a la Gayle or Diouf, who would likely have played a grand total of 40 minutes during the next six months. Good transfer window, because we kept all players we wanted to keep, got rid of most we wanted rid and managed to bring in some excellent talent in relatelively cheaply. Nobody bid for Mahrez , Vardy or Kante so it's hardly an achievement keeping them when nobody was interested in bidding for them
GaelicFox Posted 2 February 2016 Author Posted 2 February 2016 No it was not clearly a necessity Manager said it was

We've lost some third and 4th choice players and replaced them with a couple of young potential starters. If we had signed Amartey and Gray yesterday everyone would have been delighted with the window. We are a stronger squad now so I'm happy with it.
Guest ttfn Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Vardy has no injury, Ranieri has explained this about 582953489341 times. He had a slight problem in mid january which he had a very small basic operation to fix, and the operation was 100% successful. He is totally fit, I don't know why its hard not to notice when he was running like 100 miles an hour against Villa and Stoke in the last prem games. He was playing nowhere near his capacity against Villa and wasn't exactly shit hot against Stoke until he scored, at which point he perked up a bit and started running the channels: He didn't train for 2 months, of course he's not 100% yet.

Guest Col city fan Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Just woke up to having signed no-one? How boring! Fooks sake..
marktan7878 Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Not at all, Leicester are just tired and they lose their momentum...can anyone here tell me about loic remy why Leicester not signing now???
justfoxes Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 We will be just fine we have 1 absolute gem of a striker in Vardy and a couple of forwards more than good enough to back him we also have a few players that could step up to the mark if needed to we beat the scousers tonight then get a decent results against the mancs at the weekend and and then Arsenal all who are blowing hot and cold and then it will be our title according to Merson !! I think we've done ok we've got a great squad with a great mentality and a great brotherhood who enjoy wanting to play together some are still waiting for us to drop away but we won't 15 to go and we've done FOOKING awesome this season with what we have and we can go on and do this and defy the odds !! Claudio has done us proud too not been balshy and arrogant like some other managers and his calmness has rubbed off on the team, whatever we achieve this season can only be summed up in two word FOOKING AMAZING long may it continue to be and why can't we win this league show them you don't have to spend multi multi millions you can win it with team spirit !! Come on you foxes !! FNQ

st albans fox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 The OTHER teams near the top don't play 2 up top. Citeh have bony and the young kid who seems a decent finisher. Spurs are short beyond Kane, that's true enough. arsenal have plenty of forward players. You really can't compare our three with theirs, especially given formation, we could have done with some back up but decided to put our eggs into the remy basket which I'm just not quite sure about. He wouldn't have been happy to sit on the bench if JV stayed fit. Eder, musa, even diouf - I understand them. Anyway, onwards and upwards!!
suffolk fox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I am pleased we didn't sell anybody especially Vardy, Mahrez, Kante etc. However, I do believe the club should look strongly at our transfer policy. You cannot ever get decent players on the cheap. Also, when or if they do come why does it seem to take our club forever to get the deal done and over the line? We need to seriously look at our wages, policy, the way we go about it. If it's true we missed out on Musa by not paying the extra 2.9 million they were insisting on, we bid 20, then by sticking to your guns we are the ones missing out. We go with what we have however, I do believe we have missed a trick by not bringing one other striker in, in order to definitely finish in the top four. If Vardy gets injured we are fooked.
catfordfox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 key thing now is whether the players can start performing as ranieri wants in 4-3-3 (with ulloa up top and two of mahrez, albrighton, gray and schlupp supporting). That's clearly our back up system without Vardy - ranieri said after the second spurs cup game that we weren't playing it properly (unlike with 4-4-2, where everyone knows what they're doing). Work on that, and the lack of a fourth striker becomes less important
Vlad the Fox Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 People need to remember that £23m was musa's release fee not value. As a player he may not have been much better than remy or gayle, should we have paid £23m for them? southampton or man u didnt think him worth the release fee if reports they were interested are true. Had we had a bid accepted maybe they would have jumped in and we'd have struggled to sign him anyway.
Webbo Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 Apparently Chelsea wanted Vardy but didn't get him, someone ought to be sacked. It's a known fact that all you have to do is ask and clubs will sell you their players. What if Vardy gets injured? What if a new signing got injured? What if, what if?
AKCJ Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I don't see Arsenal, Spurs or Man United (who each have less strikers than us) worrying.
chapero82 Posted 2 February 2016 Posted 2 February 2016 I personally think that we need a new negotiator I don't see Arsenal, Spurs or Man United (who each have less strikers than us) worrying. They don't play 2 up front when we go one up front, we are awful
