Here come the mind games...

Martin Keown thinks having a week in-between fixtures will hinder us as it will mean we can't keep momentum after beating Liverpool and Man City in the space of 5 days.

He bleeds Arsenal. He's at it too.

Didn't he play for us for about 5 games?

But I thought we were going to benefit from not playing midweek games in other competitions?

Man city and Arsenal are Under much more pressure.

Manure even more.

The team I'm most worried about who aren't Under pressure is Tottingham.

Ranieri and Leicester may achieve in a year what Wenger and Arsenal have been trying for how many years? Ofcourse they will try and play mind games. Just point and laugh at them.

Me too. They are sneaking up while everyone focus's on us.

We were always going to get the mind games if we carried on in the same vein we have.

However I think Ranieri is cultured enough to deal with it all astutely.

The truth is that ALL the pressure is on Tottenham, Arsenal and Man City. These teams have spent way more than us and are considered to be much bigger teams. The onus is on them and not is.

Arsenal simply HAVE to beat us at the weekend. Anything else for them would be a disaster.

We've just got to stay strong, stay focussed and play our game. It won't be easy for either team, but the pressure will grow on Arsenal and teams like West Ham have already shown they can be beaten at the Emirates.

I love Mind Games - always enjoyed Mourinho doing it- he is the master at it.  Its going on all the time.  Even Claudio saying '40 points' down plays our achievement.  Then setting a new target of 79 points - not 80 - but 79.  This may be enough to win, its in the70's and thus more easily achieved in the mind.

The fans should keep it up by singing 'We are staying up' - it will wind up the opposition and their fans by stating we are just happy to be where we are. It tells our players that everything here on in is a bonus - not life an death.  The fans are key to this - even if we go down a goal or even lose we have to keep up the loud support.

As said above the other teams around us have more pressure based on entitlement and expectation - let us play on that.

Spurs is the challenge - lower expectation than the others and looking good - we need to think up something to phase them.

**** the mind games.

Everyone keeps forgetting our players are under no pressure to win the league.

If we do, fantastic.

If we don't, I will be elated with the team and they'll be icons for years to come!

ALL THE PRESSURE is on Man City and Arsenal. If those two do not win the league it will be an utter embarrassment. Even if one of them wins the league and the other does not. The latter is still an embarrassment.

If Arsenal don't win the league they should sack Wenger. I'm not even exaggerating. This should (could) be their year and next year will be even more difficult to win the league than it has in the past 10.

Tbh spurs arse an all and man city are under more pressure than we are. Its expected of them and not us. Even now.

So let em say its spurs or arse an alls to lose. Let them get on with it. Let them still go on about chromosome boy being the best in the league.

We just keep playing like we do. Thats all

If we go top with 3 games to go, 3 points clear. Then yeah its pressure time.

We have kept the momentum going all season the baboon.

Martin Keown also said on MOTD that the pressure will be greater than the great escape last year as then we were in a situation of "nothing to lose".  I thought this was absolutely bonkers as our current position is literally "nothing to lose" - very far from the very real threat of relegation over most of that run!

This 'mind games' thing doesn't get to me and it won't make any difference on Sunday...

And I'll tell you, honestly, I will love it if we beat them. Love it.

Posted

I get all this but IF we are 2 points ahead with 2 games to go then even our players would feel a bit of pressure cos we will never have the chance to win the biggest prize in football ever again whereas man city, arsenal even spurs will. So we better win the League as soon as possible!

Their mind games and nonsense work with teams constructed of only money and mercenaries, teams that pale in comparison to the might of our team spirit and friendship amongst the ranks, they have no chance against us!

Posted

To be honest I wouldn't take too much notice, no ones said a great deal really. Let's face it, if they start spouting off about us it could backfire as it would show the world they're running scared of a club costing a fraction of theirs and who started the season as relegation favourites, which could have a negative impact on their own squad and its confidence as it would increase the pressure on them.
