Leicester will win the title but I would be dishonest if I said I would be happy for everyone…

I love Nig - always will! What he did for us will always be in huge in our history.

Did nobody else read this as a clever PR ploy though? It seems to me like he's trying to remind everyone of the good work he did and how it contributed to this years success. The not happy for everyone comment is just whats going to get the story read and hes been clever by not naming names.

Jon Rudkin I suppose. People that put pressure on the owners to sack him and possibly the owners themselves.

He's going the right way to ruin his reputation here. This is only small but he seems like the kind of guy that will completely cut ties with the club out of bitterness.

He'll become the new Robbie Savage

Bollocks. Where we are is fundamentally down to the manager, his staff and the players and he's done nothing but praise them here.

55 years old when sacked and 52 when his replacement was appointed! Being out of work has taken years off him!

I fear he'll end up like Curbishley, never manages again and fades into obscurity.

Love what nigel did for us but he isn't a scout we cant thank him for every player who has signed, we must thank our incredible network of scouting for that

Can we thank him for our incredible scouting network?

Once again people quick to judge as honest man gives honest answer to probing question, carefully omitted from article to make honest man look bitter for the sake of a story.

Well done all.

Good luck with his next job, never took to Pearson, but respected how he's been since being sacked.

He used to bleat on about avoiding negativity, but publicly having a pop at unknown's at the club, is a cheap shot.

None of us know the reason, or reasons he got sacked, except his son was a racist twat, and payed the price, and his position went down hill from there, so it's not the clubs fault his son is a scum bag.

I for one have not missed the childish press conferences, abuse of fans, assaulting other clubs players, and trying to defend the indefensible behavior of silly young men acting in a racist and disrespectful manner whilst on official duty in the country of our owners who have invested so much in our great club. The last seven games were truly fantastic but it his own arrogance and hubris that brought him down and he only has himself to blame.I think other owners see the same and although he will walk into another job for next season (Derby ???) it not an accident he is still unemployed.

Non-story

Thanks for what you did Nige.

Get yourself a new job in the lower levels, don't touch our setup and build another team.

Yeah of course, I mean all Nigel did in his 5 or 6 years at the club was go around assaulting players and abusing fans   honestly it is one of the most baffling things I've ever come across that such a large section of our fanbase despise the man who built us up so well.

This. It's only natural for him to have mixed feelings.

I suspect he was glad for us to do well initially as there were his players but he'll probably be miffed if we win the title as he could only get this group to 14th.

Perfectly normal behaviour.

I am not suggesting that we forget the achievement of promotion BUT except for the last 7 games last season was awful and his ridiculous antics devalued the Kingpower brand a situation not acceptable to the owners. His team selection (Drinkwater & Albrighton) was a farce, I also believe the rumours around the coaching issues and Estaban.I don't despise the man because i don,t know him BUT i do trust the club and our owners!

I still don't buy this "Pearson deserves loads of praise for this seasons antics" crap that people say.

Ranieri is the polar opposite of Pearson, ruling not by fear but by compassion.

I think Pearson's getting more praise than he deserves, you have to face the facts that we were in a mess for 3/4 of the season last year, and he failed to sort that out. By some divine miracle somehow we got out of it.

Sorry it's just you mention crap tactics etc (ironically what we failed so badly with last season) but have we not got where we are using 4-4-2 this season? Its only been possible with addition of Kante in the middle, and the surfing up of the left side in Fuchs, who were both being scouted well before Nige left I might add.

Fuchs and Kante have been great but are not the difference between a top of the table team and one fighting relegation. To suggest this is hugely disrespectful of what Claudio has done.

Just look at the number of goals conceded from set pieces as a clear example of where Claudio had fixed something that Nigel could not. There are many other examples.

Failed to sort it out? We finished 14th with the group of players he put together, most of which are the same players who are now top of the league. Of course he deserves praise

Not saying he is why we are top now, Ranieri is clearly much better tactically and probably as a motivator but if it weren't for Nige there's a good chance we'd still be in the Champ/League One these days

Absolute b0llocks thst we were in a total mess, we weren't like Villa this year, every team and manager said how they were baffled that we were down there, we were playing well and not getting the results. Absolute b0llocks that it was some sort of divine miracle, the team spirit and ethos Pearson had built along with eventually finding the perfect formation and the rub of the green starting to go our way meant we produced title winning form when we most needed it. Yes last season clearly wasn't perfect and he did show signs of tactical ineptitude - in his first proper stint at top flight management may I add. But ultimately we smashed our objectives and did it in a memorable style, the momentum for which has allowed us to spark this amazing season, whilst Ranieri's brilliance has allowed it to continue.

I also don't know why Pearson is evaluated on just last season, what about the 4 or 5 before that where he improved us year-on-year after inheriting some serious problems.
