Leicester will win the title but I would be dishonest if I said I would be happy for everyone…

Everyone talks about Pearson building this team, last time I checked he wasn't in the top four with them.

It's one thing laying the foundations, but another actually being able to make them worthwhile.

That's not me slagging him off, but we would not be in this position if he were still here.

That's a very fair point. Fortunately he got a hell of a lot more right than he got wrong.

Fortunately one of his failings wasn't short-termism.

While he is a part of what has happened to get us to where we are, do you think we would be top of the league if he was still in charge? I would doubt it myself.

Absolutely not. Ranieri is very tactically aware and he has built on the foundation Pearson set...

But you can turn that around.... If Ranieri had gotten the job before Pearson's 2nd appointment,  would we be where we are now?

John Rudkin said he gave the club many reasons in his last 2 or so weeks to lose his job. (Trust me)

Suggests it was him?

Did a great job in turning the club around and setting up the infrastructure on which our current success is built.

As a manager I have reservations. There were a couple of horror runs, last season and the season prior to our promotion in the championship, where it seemed he was clueless tactically about how to turn it around, players were being dropped, formations and tactics changed weekly in some kind of desperation to find the winning formula again. It appeared a very hit and miss approach where he was constantly missing. We were crying out for one player with substantial PL experience, Albrighton to get a game but for whatever reason he didn't see it.

His personality is what it is, he was under a lot of pressure last season and he didn't handle it very well.

His management of the team frustrated the hell out of me at times and Ranieri makes him look non league in comparison.

I wish him well but we have moved on up a level.

I'm fairly sure that rudkin and possibly susan Whelan are the ones being referenced in the article.

at the time, they asked us to trust them. at the moment, we have no reason not to !

shame we couldn't add some quality in January where we new we were light (RB/CF).  the summer will reveal more about the 'master plan' and those 'differences of perspective'. nigel was crucial to where we are now, given his stewardship of the past few seasons. but no one really believes that we would be at the top of the PL with him as manager.  I suspect the comments he makes about not being happy for everyone means we wont see him at the KP again, unless its with another club.

So you wouldn't be bitter if your employer sacked you after you did a superb job? That's life... He's a human being.

Despite the comment about not being happy for everyone at the club if we won the title, most of that article and the one on the other thread seems to be overall complementary of our rise and success this season.

The most irritating thing for Nige, an itch that he will never really be able to scratch, is that despite what he might say if he had his time over again he might have done things differently in the run up to his sacking.

Whatever anyone may think of Pearson as a person. He Re-built this club and set us for the success we are now having.

He brought in the right people in the right positions both on and off the pitch.

He allowed people in those positions to express themselves and managed as any good manager should.

I dread to think where we would be if he hadn't shown up (twice) when he did.

His first spell especially was an exceptional job. Limited resources with an absolutely dog-shite squad to start off with.

I don't blame him for feeling slightly bitter as he personally may have felt he still had unfinished business which for any person is a hard pill to swallow.

Ranieri has taken us forward on the basis of his better or more experienced tactical knowledge. 40 odd years in any profession would give you that.

I think his gripe is at the owners, looks obvious.

Given our lofty position and new found popularity it's hard to argue we would be in a better position with Pearson in charge, and subsequently that his sacking was a mistake.

Therefore he just looks very bitter

Did you read the whole article or just the headline? Have you read and listened to him since his sacking? He is far from bitter.

But like I've said, if you were doing a great job then your employers sacked you wouldn't you be slightly bitter?

Even as a massive Pearson fan I know we wouldn't be top of the league if he was manager still.

The owners sacked him as they feel they needed to move the club on, not because it was personal, and that's what's happened, we've moved on.

On the flip side, if Pearson did well would you be happy to hear our owners say they weren't happy for him?

Time to move on, I agree. At the minute it's proving the correct decision too.

The bottom question would come over as unprofessional.

Nobody knows the real reason he was sacked, barring those involved.

But would say if I had to guess, I would say it wasn't related to his job as manager, but rather other issues, like his son and other issues.

I'd be amazed if they didn't keep their thoughts to themselves.

I love Nig - always will! What he did for us will always be in huge in our history.

Did nobody else read this as a clever PR ploy though? It seems to me like he's trying to remind everyone of the good work he did and how it contributed to this years success. The not happy for everyone comment is just whats going to get the story read and hes been clever by not naming names.

Nig?!? Careful now... We don't want another scandal...

An early comment this morning on the Daily Fail was that it was Mike Stowell who Pearson wouldn't want to see happy....

...seems they had differences

- no idea whether it is true or not but just thought I'd throw it in for consideration.
