Countryfox Posted 22 February 2016 Author Posted 22 February 2016 Why? Cus its football !! Mind you, my grandad lived in Glasgow and the rivalry up there was (and probably still is) scary. My mate on the saff still shouts out "Heres the Blue nose !' when I walk in and I always say "Shut up you finian b*astard!". Might grow out of it one day ... but probably not.
Kitchandro Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 One thing we miss, or I certainly miss, is a proper hatred rivalry (such as Birmingham/Villa) but at the end of the day we're a one club City and don't have major rivals. I don't get this comment. Most Leicester supporters hate Forest, it's your own fault that you love Cloughie. Even if, for the sake of argument, Forest didn't hate us, why does it make any difference to how you or other Leicester fans feel? I'll always hate Forest & Derby so I certainly don't 'miss' any hatred. I enjoy seeing them struggle in the league below and if we drew them away in the cup it would be incredible.

Yet again you've blown something way out of proportion. We haven't got a fierce rivalry and that's the only thing I miss supporting Leicester, that's all. We can play Forest, Derby or Coventry but they don't have the feel of a proper rivalry - Spurs/Arsenal, Birmingham/Villa, Manchester United/Liverpool. You're kidding yourself if you think otherwise, regardless of how much you 'hate' another East Midlands Club. "It's your own fault you love Cloughie" Wtf... I'm a football fan pal of course I'm going to love him.

Agree totally with you ...I would love a city rivalry where you can channel all the stress of the week into hating your rivals for that 90 minutes, and Lord it over them in good times..
Aus Fox Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 Why, f'kin Arsenal of course! We've not beaten them in the league in 'x' amount of attempts since our last league success over them when Gordon Milne was manager in 1983 and when Lineker, Lynex and Al. Smith were on that 3-0 score sheet at Filbert! Our nemesis team were of c(o)urse at it again last Sunday week with their 95th minute winner. I just hope we can now finish off our surreal job!! We did beat them in 1994 David Lowe got the winner as I recall.
Bournemouth Blue Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 This is all playing into our hands. Not having a really close rival in the Midlands means there are no derbys which lets face it can go either way. Who can predict who will win out of man city/utd, or arsenal/west ham, spurs/chelsea. Meanwhile we are noones hated rivals. Most fans want us to win the league!! We just laugh and carry on eating up the 3 points....
Great Boos Up Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 But now we're good; who have we lost the most to? Recently you could say Cardiff and over a longer period of clubs our size Watford? Someone will know.
Carl the Llama Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 But now we're good; who have we lost the most to? Recently you could say Cardiff and over a longer period of clubs our size Watford? Someone will know. This season? Waahsenal.
4everfox Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 Forest are our main rivals, I'll always hate them. Derby not so much but I still dress my son in a Leicester kit when visiting my Mrs' family (all Derby fans). I don't care about Coventry.
Gforce19 Posted 22 February 2016 Posted 22 February 2016 For ever and ever we'll follow our team We're Leicester City we rule supreme We'll never be mastered By those Forest Bastards We'll keep the blue flag Flying high Absolutely love this song and what it means and yes we are missing the rivalry at the moment but wouldn't swap the feeling of being a Leicester fan at the moment , I love the fact that Derby,Forest,Coventry,Brum and Vanilla are shite it is soooo good after years of it being the other way around
Finnegan Posted 23 February 2016 Posted 23 February 2016 They'll be coming next week reminding us all about Sheffield Wednesday scoring in the 91st minute to give them the title. Hopefully we can take the points to keep them quiet as you did a couple of seasons ago against us after the play-off games! No offence, Horns, but I'm not sure a Watford fan is in any position to come on to q Leicester forum and be cynical about supporters of smaller clubs making up grudges and rivalries out of nothing. Hello, Deeney day?
SpacedX Posted 23 February 2016 Posted 23 February 2016 We did beat them in 1994 David Lowe got the winner as I recall. He also scored a great goal at home against Spurs that year - which actually wasn't hard, given the suicidal high line that Ardiles insisted on playing all season. Through ball from Joachim, just inside the box, curled it into the top corner of the net.
foxfanazer Posted 23 February 2016 Posted 23 February 2016 I really hope Watford don't consider themselves as rivals to us. I actually quite like them this season and couldn't care less about Deeney day. Hope he gets picked for Euros personally
Loggy88 Posted 23 February 2016 Posted 23 February 2016 I still think the traditional rivals are still our rivals. I still hope Forest lose every week whatever league there in.
Bayfox Posted 24 February 2016 Posted 24 February 2016 We did beat them in 1994 David Lowe got the winner as I recall. Yes the game after little had walked out to head to villa. Think gregory had gone as well. Allan Evans was in charge. 1 game 100% win rate.

theessexfox Posted 24 February 2016 Posted 24 February 2016 Being quite a young Leicester fan and growing up miles away from Leicester, I have never felt any sort of rivalry which is quite sad but we're top of the Premier League so I'm not too fussed.
Aus Fox Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 Imagine being a Cov fan, not sure what it's like now but I know slot of their supporters used to consider us their biggest local rivals. Now it looks like their first team might have to compete in the same group as our U21s in a competitive match. How many on here would go upto Cov for a EFL trophy game? I remember going to Civ with about 5,000 in our end and a shed load more in their end. Could be the closest we get to a local derby for a while.
foxy boxing Posted 9 July 2016 Posted 9 July 2016 We are kings of the midlands now stoke and west brom won't be able to get near us.are main rivals are the top six while spurs will be particularly bitter towards us
