NotTheMarketLeader Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 the thing is even if they park the bus, we are bound to get a couple of clear chances. We need to make sure we score and then watch out for their counter attacks. parking the bus is a skill in itself. Newcastle don't strike me as a team that could successfully keep the bus parked for the 90 mins The difficulty in parallel parking a bus should not be under- estimated. It definitely is a skill.
SpacedX Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Krul & Dummett definitely out and Coloccini & Mbemba are doubtful. That's a relief...word is that Chancel Mbemba...he's a class defender - never gives the ball away. Saying that, based upon similar anecdotal testimony, Andy King...when he gets the ball he sores a goal and would also have us believe that Kramaric is in fact a wizard on the pitch.
Tuna Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 On paper its an excellent appointment for Newcastle. Rafa is an excellent manager and he can really move the club forwards in the next few years. They'll stay up now. Fat Sam will be the one who is the most pissed off, he had loads of ding dongs with Rafa when he was with Bolton!
MonmoreStef Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Hmmmm. Does Rafa know anything about a relegation battle ?
TheLittleBigMan Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Let's make sure by the end of the game Rafa knows exactly how big a mistake he's just made. Players will be out to impress him but their still a sh*t team. Up the foxes.
MC Prussian Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 There's one player on our roster who knows Benitez' football inside out...
STUHILL Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Even with Rafa, they still have a woeful defence. If he doesn't win in first few games then I can see them going down with Rafa being labelled silly for taking over a doomed club. He is used to working with top players, and not being involved in a relegation battle with a team with no confidence. Hoping they go down and really put Ashley in the crap. Karma for the awful way he runs the club!
RobHawk Posted 11 March 2016 Posted 11 March 2016 Interesting reading the Rafa love in across the major sports news outlets. Given the shit Claudio got I find it hilarious, and probably means they will still go down!
filbertstreet Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 There's one player on our roster who knows Benitez' football inside out... inler and maybe schwartzer?
biggs Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Rafa must love media misery and fan abuse as that's what he's in for. Lose to us and Sunderland and the love affair will be quickly over
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I think that Rafa will enevitably pick them up but as long as their revival happens after playing us I'm not too fussed Up the Foxes
weller54 Posted 12 March 2016 Author Posted 12 March 2016 I think that Rafa will enevitably pick them up but as long as their revival happens after playing us I'm not too fussed Up the Foxes Home to Spuds last game of the season!!!
funlovingexpress Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I came on here the last time we played and assured you that you would make top 4 easily. Glad to see I was right. Most toon fans would like you to win the title. BUT You will have to win it without 3 points from us. Newcastle is buzzing at the moment and I can see us upsetting the odds and winning this game. When Newcastle decide to turn up they are actually a very very good team. The problem is that this season they just haven't turned up often enough. With the arrival of Benitez I expect us to turn up and it will be a cracking game that is for sure. Much has been made of our poor defence and rightly so btw. The strange thing is that Newcastle actually have a cracking back 4 but they have never been utilised as a unit so far. Jaanmaat and Mbabu as fullbacks and Dummett and Mbemba as centre halves. Dummett has always played really well as a centre half but is a shocking fullback. Benitez no doubt will suss this out quickly but it won't be against leicester because Mbemba and Mbabu are injured, though rumour has it Mbemba might be fit for the game against you. Here's hoping. Good luck for the rest of the season and show the league that it is a manager that counts in footy not the size of his chequebook. After you play us of course!

Lose to us and Sunderland and the love affair will be quickly over It won't. All toon fans have ever wanted is a real manager. We haven't really had one since Sir Bob. Instead we have employed managers who have been sacked in the lower leagues or guys who haven't managed in decades like Kinnear. Even if we lost the next 10 games the toon fans would still beg Benitez to stay.

I'd do away with that attitude now; it's the hope that kills and you're only going to make yourself angry with Benitez when results on the pitch don't match your inexplicably high expectations given what your players have served up so far. You've won 2 away games all season and drawn one with the lowest goal tally away from home. We've lost 1 home game and are looking to cement our position at the top of the table. I get the impression that at the back of your mind you're thinking "oh it's just little old Leicester, perfect chance to pick things up again" which is a mistake teams have been making all season and I hope your players make it again on Monday.
Grewks Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Newcastle is 'Buzzing at the moment'.... Yh, Leicester is 'Well depressed', top of the league and 5 points clear. We turn up, we win. Newcastle are not a 'very very good side'. If all these players are class why do you always struggle? Because their attitude is appalling.

If you had read anything I have ever written on here you would see that I don't consider you 'little old leicester'. I said before we played last time that you had a cracking team. When Newcastle have bothered turning up we have been immense. Take the sunderland game, they couldn't get the ball off us first half then we got a player sent off and they routed us. Against man city and Arsenal it was the same kind of thing, first half they couldn't live with us. The odd game they have done it for 90 minutes like when we put Norwich to the sword. Like I said they have hardly done it all season and that is why we are where we are. As for our lack of goals for some reason Mcclaren would hardly play Doumbia and Cisse got injured. When Cisse plays as a centre forward his goal average is one every 2 games. Doumbia has looked very good the odd minute Mcclaren has given him. He had two off the post in his last game. Usually that type would go in. There are two Newcastle Uniteds. You have the one where they don't try and they stroll about like they have all day, bottling 50-50s etc, that is the one that has played almost all season. But there is also another Newcastle United. The Newcastle united that do turn up. They are actually a very very good team. You could ask any toon fan the same thing and they would all tell you that if Gini, Sissoko and Shelvey turn up there isn't a midfield in the country that could live with them. The problem is all 3 are usually hiding and at no time this season have all 3 turned it on in the same game. Then you look at the likes of Steven Taylor. He is usually a liability. But every time a new manager comes in he always plays extremely well in that first game. This has upset written all over it and it will be an upset because we are where we deserve to be just as you are. BTW, we don't expect to win the next 10 games, not even close to that. We will be extremely lucky if we in 4. More than likely it will be 3. I just think that if you had played us at any other time you would have easily took all 3 points and I mean easily. But you are playing us at the worst possible time because one thing is for sure and that is that Newcastle will turn up on monday.

You wouldn't believe the Bournemouth game. I don't think Sissoko even broke a sweat. That has been a common theme all season. The odd game though they do play and boy can they play. Problem is it is a very very very rare occurrence.
Guest ttfn Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Don't think our lot should bother turning up tomorrow, sounds like the game is already lost as we'll be playing against a midfield that nobody can live with.
funlovingexpress Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Ok then We would. We have a bad rap for slating managers but under Ashley we have only ever had managers who had been recently sacked from lower divisions or guys that had been out of a job for decades.

Like I said, there has been no game this season where all 3 have turned up. I just feel they will against you. Truth be told I would rather they turned up against the mackems.
Guest kristianity77 Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 It won't take long though for the Newcastle fans to vent their anger again should they lose on Monday and then lose the Sunderland game the week after, even if it isn't aimed directly at Rafa. That alone, regardless of who manages you, makes Newcastles job so much harder. And also, lets be realistic, if Newcastle do drop, Rafa is out the door on his own terms before the summer starts.

Trav Le Bleu Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 If you had read anything I have ever written on here you would see that I don't consider you 'little old leicester'.You might not, but Rafa hasn't been involved in English football for a long time. Here's hoping that he thinks it's "little old Leicester". It's more a problem that City might think, "it's only perennial relegation battlers Newcastle" and drop their game. We've beaten our title rivals, with the exception of Arsenal, we can beat any team when we play as good as we can. We drew against Bournemouth and Villa when we didn't. You might nick a point, if we don't play our best, but even with the new manager effect, I can't believe you will get more.
