chapero82 Posted 13 March 2016 Posted 13 March 2016 I really worried about this match to be honest it could be a real banana skin
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Never underestimate the new manager influence. How many times do we see it? Need to really be on our game tomorrow night.Very trueBig effort required Up the Foxes
Raj Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Rafa doesn't lose his first games at new clubs according to sky.
Buce Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 statistically, over t he last few games point to a 3-0 win it is often said statistics don't lie It is also said that, "There are lies, damned lies, and statistics..".
lee7 Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I'm feeling really nervous about tonight. I just get the feeling the Newcastle players will play out of their skin. If we can stop Shelvey getting any time on the ball to pick out passes and keep tight to sissoko and Perez (if they're all fit and in their team) then we stand a good chance of stoping Newcastle from playing. I know they've been sh*te all season but obviously the new manager will have a major impact so we need to be at our best both on and off the pitch tonight.
foxinsox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Rafa cannot polish a turd in a weekend. 3 points and some useful goal difference. Ta very muchly.

You think Kante is going to give any midfielder in the world time on the ball?
mozartfox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 We are all nervous regardless of who are playing now. Tonight is all about patience and concentration at the back. If they park the bus, then so be it. Personally, I would think about play Schluppy from the off. As the way to overtake buses is on the outside If they play deep and deny space (as expected), then playing over the top into non existent space will produce nothing. We need a plan C as well as a B tonight. Lumping it high into the box being absolute last resort.
SpacedX Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Realistically Raffa's first game is the Tyne-Wear derby which is massive. The guy is obsessive about detail and the main change that he is likely to effect in the short time he has is to keep shape and discipline at the back which was farcical under Carver and McClaren. He has never lost his first game in charge of a football club, but then he has arguably never been appointed at one as shambolic as Newcastle currently are. The players will have much to prove in front of their new gaffer, but our talent, fitness and movement ill be too much for them. I'm more concerned about the visit of the Saints.
harpendenfox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 On the train into London before heading up to Leicester later. Excited, nervous and proud to be a Leicester fan. Deeply deeply proud of everything about our Club, whatever happens these next few weeks. For all who have ever supported the City, this is our moment. We may just do this.

shen Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 I must admit, all the talk of Rafa and the effect he might have on the team, not least tactically, is making me a little unsure. Would it be smart to start with the 5-3-2 formation today, to throw Rafa a curveball? They couldn't cope with it last season and it would allow us to play both Ulloa and Vardy. The side benefit would be that our opponents for the remainder of the season wouldn't know whether we start games with a 5-3-2, 4-4-2 or a 4-4-1-1.

Claudio knows though, he'll do what he needs to do
Loggy88 Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 This game is certainly a harder one now, because a new manager always seems to get a struggling team going. They will look to frustrate us and defend as much as possible and sneak a goal. They have a game in hand so I can't see them flyin out the blocks like we will. I'm still backing us 2-1, come on you foxes!
shen Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Have to admit the thought had crossed my mind too. Claudio knows though, he'll do what he needs to do Or at the very least he'll fix it at half-time if need be... hopefully
Babylon Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Rafa doesn't lose his first games at new clubs according to sky. And the last time he took over someone in the bottom three was....?
The Guvnor Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Rafa's appointment or not if we are on our game we will win this, with our run in of games I would rather be playing the Toon tonight than Chelsea.
Jon the Hat Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 No doubt they will play a little better than they have done, but if we play as we can that isn't going to be enough for them. Will be tougher than it would have been though.
daddylonglegs Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Last season in these types of games it was a case of saying 'it depends which newcastle team turns up'. Bollocks to that. This season we've gone to Man City and taken the piss, Everton and scored 3, comfortably beaten Chelsea and Liverpool at home... it doesn't matter who the other team is this year and how they play. If we play like we have 95% of this season this'll be comfortable. Got to focus on what we can do!
thybluefox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Irrespective of how Newcastle perform, if we play out best game we'll win. It's really as simple as that.
suffolk fox Posted 14 March 2016 Posted 14 March 2016 Their defence is shocking get at them from the off and they could crumble aka last season. We should win this 2 or 3 nil. What we will see is eleven men behind the ball and a long punt up to Mitrovich. It maybe like Norwich again, take our chances though we should win.

If we play like we have 95% of this season this'll be comfortable. Got to focus on what we can do! This. We're top because teams havent been able to cope with what we can do, regardless of who their manager is. If we play our usual patient, relaxed game, we'll be fine. The only thing that worries me is the crowd and whether they'll start to get edgy. We need to keep doing what we have been doing. Against WBA, the commentary I was listening too were creaming over the fact that when they scored, instead of moaning and being negative, our crowd cheered. They mentioned how this would have such a positive effect and they're right. Opposition teams will be saying now if they can turn the crowd, it'll make the players edgy. We cannot allow that to happen.
