promised land Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Newcastle fans have had to put up with dross for some time so I can sort of understand the hype with appointment of Rafa however saying they are a very very good team when they can be arsed is quite frankly delusional. No disrespect to toon fans but for some reason they think their club is far bigger than it is. Rafa has already said he won't hang around if they drop hasn't he? He's there for the money, nothing else.
Sharpe's Fox Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Well I notice you all were saying how bad our defence was and yet when we finished fifth we had the same centre halves. they just haven't turned up since. If you have 4 crap seasons and 1 good season with two defenders it would suggest the 1 season was the anomaly, not the 4 they were crap
teblin Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 The Leicester I know from the 25 years I have spent supporting them would lose this game. The Leicester this season are a very different proposition, we will be professional and get the required result. Newcastle fans already seem to be underestimating us.
FoxinNotts Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 The fact is, Newcastle will play better now on Monday, than they would have under McLaren. We need to ensure we play at our usual high standard, and not let their improvement effect our game. As others have said, would be great to get an early goal. Could be a nervy game.
funlovingexpress Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 The Leicester I know from the 25 years I have spent supporting them would lose this game. The Leicester this season are a very different proposition, we will be professional and get the required result. Newcastle fans already seem to be underestimating us. Erm no we are not. We had played almost every team in the league when we last played you and you were the best we had played out of all of them. That is why I said you would make top 4 EASILY. All season though it has been the same thing with us, they play as individuals and not as a team and most of the time they just stroll about. No heart, no work ethic. That is one of the reasons that we are so chuffed that Benitez has came because he won't stand for that and he will get them to play as a unit. The baffling thing is that they have quality in abundance but no structure. I think you will see a very different Newcastle to the one who played you last time.
weller54 Posted 12 March 2016 Author Posted 12 March 2016 Benitz has been there a few days! He won't get this bunch playing anywhere well enough to take points off us... Any new tactics will only confuse the pants off them.. Poor team and they'll get spanked!
Countryfox Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I think you will see a very different Newcastle to the one who played you last time. Let's hope so mate as we could do with really bumping our goal difference up.
Gerard Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Micky Sumo is clueless and we rarely believe what he says. In fact if you look on my history on there you will see that I rarely agree with him. You lot are now under the impression that you turn up and games over. That is a very dangerous way to look at things. If we perform like we have all season then you won't just beat us you will hammer us. I just don't think we are going to play that way on monday. I certainly don't think like that, in fact at this stage of the season with so much at stake every match worries me. However even if your team turns up I still believe we will be able to "live with you". I don't for a moment discount you winning or getting a draw as you're very capable of doing that but I think if Leicester play to their ability and with confidence then wew will decide the result of this match, not Newcastle.
weller54 Posted 12 March 2016 Author Posted 12 March 2016 Benitz might be a good manager.. But he can't polish a turd!
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I predict it will be the 37th minute that the whole stadium is singing "You're getting sacked in the morning" including those fantastic Newcastle fans who have their own players terrified to touch the ball!
midland_red Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 So what would you do if you were Benitez? - play it safe, park the bus and go for a point. Remember all they have to do is be better than Sunderland and Norwich and the match against Sunderland is the one they really need to win. They have a game in hand on Sunderland and two against Norwich. And they're only a point behind Sunderland even so or - tell them to go for it and see what happens. If they win it would be a fantastic confidence boost and three totally unexpected points, If they lose its no disgrace and no-one will blame Benitez for it. Meanwhile, no-one seems to be picking up on the fact that Benitez got a relegation walk away in his contract. Not, I would have thought, a great and inspiring message to send. By comparison, Citeh owners asked CR if he would stay if we got relageted and he said yes...
Countryfox Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 So what would you do if you were Benitez?Smoke a bit of weed. Say bad luck lads when they lose and trouser the money.
Carl the Llama Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Fair play to you funloving you clearly aren't trying to wind anyone up which is always good to see when other fans come on here and I do think you may be right insofar as there could be an extra spring to your players' steps on Monday, but I still think you're either overrating your players or underrating ours. All told I expect an affair not too dissimilar to our recent Norwich game with a hard fought match where our lads have the sufficient mentality to see it through though hopefully we'll get the ball in the net a bit earlier. A score draw isn't entirely unreasonable with your players battling both against relegation and for the new manager's favour (maybe).
Merging Cultures Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 With the players knowing Rafa isn't bothered to fight it out, I can't see them being too bothered either.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I generally like Geordies as people, warm and friendly down to earth people! When it comes to football all sense goes out the window and the delusion reaches epic proportions. Having that pr*ck Ashley as your owner must try anyones patience, turning on your own players and manager in play is just plain disgusting and not great fans atall
weller54 Posted 12 March 2016 Author Posted 12 March 2016 Let's face it.. Benitz is there for one thing only.. MONEY! ..he'll see them relegated then off he goes with a wad of cash!
Bluetintedspecs Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Let's face it.. Benitz is there for one thing only.. MONEY! ..he'll see them relegated then off he goes with a wad of cash! Yes pockets full of that fat cvnt Ashleys slave money!
The Guvnor Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Let's face it.. Benitz is there for one thing only.. MONEY! ..he'll see them relegated then off he goes with a wad of cash! Agreed you have to question Rafa's motive for this move and it boils down to one thing money. If they are relegated he will be gone faster than a toupee in a hurricane.
Sublime_Coatsworth Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Basically Rafa's just got himself several million quid for a 2 month contract.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Come on Leicester we can do this Leicester win Up the Foxes
funlovingexpress Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Basically Rafa's just got himself several million quid for a 2 month contract. It would have been the club that insisted on the clause. It is one thing paying 4 million a year to a premiership manager and quite another if we went down. Last time we were relegated they cut costs all over the shop. If he keeps us up he has a 3 year contract as manager that he has already signed.
holyfox Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 Erm no we are not. We had played almost every team in the league when we last played you and you were the best we had played out of all of them. The baffling thing is that they have quality in abundance but no structure. I think you will see a very different Newcastle to the one who played you last time. Can see you're optimistic and to be fair, I'm expecting Newcastle players will most likely have an extra spring in their step. I for one would be happy with a win of any sort, though an early goal for us and it could be many more. All the best after we beat you on Monday:)
biggs Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 I just don't see a weakness in our team they can exploit with the team they have. To some here I'd be considered overconfident or arrogant but to me it's how I picture this game playing out. 4-0 to me and doing so with more energy and spirit than Newcastle even with Rafa on the sidelines.
AyewJoking Posted 12 March 2016 Posted 12 March 2016 if we dont have our heads on right for this i will have great difficulty accepting it. that said id be pleased with a scrappy undeserved 1-0 win
