Sol thewall Bamba Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Part of it is yes, but don't they also use it for the vouchers, t shirts, gammon cobs etc? As its all into the away days. Coach travel back up to £20 then. Subsidised coach travel, vouchers, tshirts, breakfast etc only benefits those in a position to use them. If you're not from Leicester for 8am for your cob, don't use foxes travel and choose not to wear a club branded t-shirt, the initiative isn't much good. Capped tickets help everyone, no matter what your circumstances are.
RowlattsFox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Great news. Although chances of me getting tickets have got slimmer.
Voll Blau Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Might actually get to visit every ground in this division now they all fall under my self-imposed limit. As I've seen said on Twitter, the "get used to it" brigade are a bit conspicuous by their absence in this thread.
Bayfox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 How much do Ausden charge this year? They not able to match the £10 the club are charging? If they get the volume back from fox travel they will probably be able to reduce prices again. Ausden has been a tenner as well, as far as I know, that's all I paid for Swansea, but that's the only time i have used it.
fuchsntf Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 £30 is the maximum. Clubs can charge less. understood, but are there various prices u nder offer, according to where one sits, or is it 1 choice,1 location, 1 price...
4ever and ever Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 understood, but are there various prices u nder offer, according to where one sits, or is it 1 choice,1 location, 1 price... Are we talking about for away games or home games. In the few away games where prices are different for upper and lower tier (tottenham and Everton spring to mind) I would expect they will still have tiered pricing but the maximum is £30. This news today has nothing to do with home games unfortunately, but not sure if thats what you meant or not?

Capped tickets help everyone, no matter what your circumstances are. Fully aware of that, the club probably looked at capping tickets when they received the first £200k back at the start of last season, would that have lasted a full 19 games to all travelling fans though? Maybe that's why they came up with the travel initiative instead as they could control that where as the price from clubs for away tickets they couldn't so couldn't gaurantee the money would last, just a thought. But vouchers and t shirts are given out at away turnstiles not the club. ETA. Now they're capped could they introduce an away season ticket?
adam Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 I wonder if some clubs will put the price of concessions up to compensate for their losses. Hmm

Yeah, I suppose they made the money go as far as they could, £200K for the season is a joke seeing that Rooney earns that in 5 days... On balance I'd prefer capped tickets to subsidised travel from the ground and the other bits and pieces. I wonder if some clubs will put the price of concessions up to compensate for their losses. Hmm I'm sure the millions and millions of extra TV money will more than cover their 'losses'.

I'm sure the millions and millions of extra TV money will more than cover their 'losses'. I think everyone prefers low ticket prices to travel. I did wonder about concessions, especially the student age group and kids. Time will tell. Interestingly on SSN the football league said its down to the individual clubs or words to that so Leeds will cost more than a Premier league game then.
Russell sprout Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 We would likely have been cat a fixture for most teams next season so prices for Arsenal away would never have been £26 again(west brom are being charged £35 for cat b), So it's an even bigger result financially for us than people think,we could all have kissed goodbye to £25 west brom away,£30 Newcastle and Stoke aswell had this not come into place
Matt Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Great news, very encouraging and a big step in the right direction, however the campaign was 20's plenty so we've not 'won' yet. My fear is they'll just rape loyal home fans, or they'll charge £30 for all/most away games instead of your odd £20 - £25 that you can currently get. Also another huge fear for me is i'm P3, was P2, due to family commitments last year I dropped out of that, because of that it's going to be harder and harder to get tickets nowadays, but it's a case of seeing how it goes I guess.

Yeah that's true - Man City would never have gone to general sale at £30 a ticket

But we certainly wouldn't have been cat c. Cat a for most clubs are the big four teams, we will not be one of them come what may. Remember it's only our second season, we don't have £50 million players, it's more than just your previous seasons place.

Again understood this post talks about away tickets. So I wasnt asking on home questions. The 2nd last sentence was the answer..I hope!! tiered they have various prices with max 30 quid. I havent been to an away ground for 2 years, so I didnt know if away location was a choice of a few or more. 2 seasons ago, I didnt need to be a member to get a ticket, so I dont know what changes might have been implemented.. In Germany I can still get various priced online tickets, from various grounds. Now I have no idea of UK football what grounds need extra membership...
Dom_Harborough Fox Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Great news! A big step in the right direction. Fair play to the FSF and everyone who's campaigned.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 9 March 2016 Posted 9 March 2016 Anyone who moans at this needs to be shot. If you think a £30 cap is too much for entertainment these days, the people that moan are the exact same people that spend double that on Booze every week. Lets celebrate this as a positive. Please! Have a day off
Foxes_Trust Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Campaigning wise this has been a result of 2 separate methods of campaigning The FSF continued £20 is Plenty, this season built on with weekends of action, like Norwich away earlier this season, where Union FS took the lead for LCFC fans linking with a Norwich supporters group Alongside this, Premier League Trusts collectively created a letter, which each Trust sent to their respective clubs CEO in relation to the new TV deal We now have our first success, which was setting an away ticket price cap which is frozen for 3 years (duration of the TV deal), this was always a decision to made at a national level The 2 remaining requests are: 3 year price freeze for home ticket prices (a decision to be made at club level, some clubs have already announced a price freeze for next season) Introduction of an 18 - 21 yo price band
stillwater Posted 10 March 2016 Posted 10 March 2016 Will clubs now just reduce the amount of away tickets they offer, meaning that they can get more of their own fans in a a larger ticket price. Can see even fewer away tickets being available next year

Alexikokopops Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Virgin Media will be subsidising every visiting supporter’s ticket from every Premier League club travelling to St Mary’s meaning adult fans will pay just £20. Source

Source It's a decent idea, essentially they get a lot of free advertising and praise in the media, and fans get a cheaper day out! If all clubs could partner with a company and do the same we'd be laughing! Momentum is definitely shifting though, a lot of reciprocal deals being struck in the Championship.

More importantly it shows things are going in the right direction, maybe East Midlands trains will stick the football specials on before long.
