Yeah it was supposed to be today but they asked for an extra day just to tart up a couple of minor scratches I pointed out :)

I feel like a kid on Xmas eve tbh :D

Come on then, dying to know!

You're too busy driving it around aren't you? lol

Yeah must admit I've taken it out for a bit of a spin this afternoon mate :D

It's fvckin gorgeous tbh. I was originally going to get the R-Sport version but finally decided on the Portfolio which has the split fold rear seats, Windsor leather interior and better sound system. There's so many gadgets in it I'll need all weekend to read the manual!

Drives like a dream and goes like shit off a shovel. I went for the 2.0d which still has 180 bhp. The 3.0d 250 bhp is just too much power for what I need.

3 years old and 30,000 miles but looks like new. Feel like I've just got a £45k car for £18k tbh.

Still no hard sell on the extended warranty - apparently they'll e-mail me the details :dunno: It comes with a one year warranty and roadside assist anyway so might just stick with that. Nice to treat myself for once instead of spending all my money on the wife and kids. I've worked my nuts off this year so figure I deserve a reward

Not jealous at all! Glad you love it, sounds like you deserve it.

Just means the neighbours will now say "There's the ginger ****, in his new Jag" lol

Decent deal with the 1 year guarantee, please check the small print though to make sure it isn't something stupid like a £250 claim limit!

Enjoy!

So pissed off. Stumbled across this article on the Leicester Mercury website and messaged one of the people who had their car stolen on the same night as mine as the street in the article matched. Turns out these cretins filmed themselves in people’s houses and that’s how it’s linked to their car yet mine was stolen 10 minutes before a mile away and the police haven’t even been in touch with my case being closed as unsolved, useless.

They could so easily have looked at the CCTV of them entering my house and established it was them.

One of them lives round the corner from where I used to live up until a couple of months ago. Well until he was put up in one of her majesty’s hotels.

Never seen him round there though.

In South Wigston? My mum lives very close to there and I’m a mile away so pretty sure he has seen me driving round.

Hope he gets horrendous aids.

So, my company, Imperial Cars, was bought out by Cazoo.

Had to reapply for my job and thankfully got it.

No idea what it'll be like now, but we aren't selling cars from branch. Everything done online.

Cazoo mainly acquired us for the preparation and service departments.

Anyone bought a motor from Cazoo?

Personally, I wouldnt. If you're spending 20k on something, you want to see it first.

Yeah I don't get Cazoo. The advert has the guy sitting on his sofa buying a car he has never seen delivered to his door. I get people don't know much about cars and Cazoo will likely guarantee everything, but still. You want to see it first, look under the bonnet, sit in it, maybe even test drive it and see if you like it surely?

No chance I buy a car without seeing it or driving it first.

Don't think it's really designed for the people who love cars. It's designed for the lazy ****s like me who just want something with 4 wheels that goes brum brum in the easiest way possible. When I bought my first car I visited about a dozen places, not worth the effort.

Anyone ever leased a car through an employer salary sacrifice scheme?

Currently driving a very old corsa comfort, it has served us well since the wife passed her test a couple of years ago, I hadn't driven for nearly 15 years so it suited us as a first car. Not done that many miles considering its age but I worry how much longer it will last now we are doing more and more miles in it, and plus we are getting to a stage where a second car will be needed?

Unfortunately no savings to buy something outright, already have a loan so won't be able to take another to buy a car so looking into the leasing option. Have the option of doing this through my work or independently. Not ideal but will have to be our only option for a couple of years.

Work scheme seems to include insurance, servicing and repairs and doesn't require any initial payment but worry about the income and tax situation as don't really understand it.

I know very little about cars so they always give me massive headaches when I have to do anything to do with them.

Although you have a personal loan, as long as you haven't done anything stupid to ruin your credit rating, you would get car finance.

The finance on the car is secured on the vehicle, so is less of a risk to the lender, as if you don't pay, they'll take the car back.

A lease would cost you a big deposit usually and your mileage would be limited, so you honestly might as well get something on HP and own it yourself at the end of the finance term.

I don't sell cars anymore, although I'll be working for Cazoo who do sell cars online, let me know if i can be of any more help at all, such as finance advice, what sort of cars to look at...

I’m really tempted to chop my shitty Astra in and spend what is a lot for me on a new motor. I really like the look of the 4 series Gran Coupe  BMW’s. Anybody dealt with, or know much about YNC Ltd in Nottingham? They have some absolute stonkers in at the minute.

I think younger people just go for the brands. “Yeah I’ll go for the Merc, might be a bag of sh*t but I’ll take it anyway.”

They've got good reviews online, but having a quick look through the website, very high mileage cars.

My year car contract car hire with VW has come to an end and I bought the car which i paid for last week. I received an invoice for £800 yesterday for the excess mileage which I thought they would wave as I bought the car. Before I pay it has anyone had the same thing and is it worth haggling?

Sounds a bit odd that they'd charge the excess mileage if you're buying the car off them. Perhaps worth a conversation.

My car does no miles now. On the odd occasion I do leave the house, I take the wife's car because it's at the front of the drive.

I pay a not-insubstantial amount per month for the car. Really, I could do with chopping it in and running a shitbox. Unfortunately I don't think financially it'd work selling it yet.

Anybody else in a similar situation due to lockdown / working from home / etc.?

Yes, I am in exactly the same position, we really don't need my car. I think the last time both cars were out at the same time would have been back in March, and I can't see it changing any time soon.

My car is on finance and I owe more than I can get for it, but we are considering paying the difference, the monthly saving would be seen in about 3 months so it's probably worth it, I just can imagine the week after I get rid of it I'll be told I need to go back to the office! Even a taxi once a week or so would be cheaper than running the car though, so we'll probably take the risk, I can't see a time when they'll make me go back 5 days a week.

Out of interest, how long have you had your cars?

Once you have paid 50% of the total amount borrowed, you have the option to voluntarily terminate the finance deal and hand the car back.

Thanks, not long enough unfortunately

If you're thinking of paying the difference, it could work out cheaper to pay half of the amount borrowed and hand the car back. It might not, but worth working it out.
