Yeah, he's not as good as he once was and yeah he's not as good as Schmeichel (not many are at the moment) but come on, let's give the guy a break. Why would he start a game that he didn't need to after a training twinge unless he thought he could complete it? Coming off at half time smacks of a precautionary withdrawal. Surely not tactical ? Hopefully it's only a recurrence of the same twinge and he can rest it till Sunday with some time in the chamber to help.
sdb Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 Seems strange to sub him at half time, even if it is a friendly. If they risked him for a meaningless game vs. Scotland and he's now injured then we should be livid. Bearing in mind our replacements that'll be the title chance gone in an instant.

I think some people are over reacting on here. He'd be a solid replacement but we'd need cover for him though.

Well when he played against Hull in the League Cup this season he was a liability. As soon as that game went to pens I knew he wasn't getting close to any of them and we were going out.
Corky Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 I'm sure he can make some saves but Schmeichel is a quick, aggressive keeper who looks to get us on the attack before the opposition is settled again. He's also alert to danger outside the box and has saved us a few times in that fashion.

Lineker's Lugs Posted 29 March 2016 Posted 29 March 2016 BBC website says kasper went off injured tonight??? His Dad said on Sky before the match that the plan was always for Kasper to play the whole of the first friendly and 45 minutes tonight. And that's what happened. Don't panic!!
