1884Fox Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 Ive seen people talking about organising a minute applause for the fan that passed away recently. Is this going ahead at all?
Danizen Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 The fact that you (and the majority of us) don't know the guys name means any gesture like this would be hollow, insincere and a bit pointless.
Strokes Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 The fact that you (and the majority of us) don't know the guys name means any gesture like this would be hollow, insincere and a bit pointless. That doesn't normally stop them.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 The fact that you (and the majority of us) don't know the guys name means any gesture like this would be hollow, insincere and a bit pointless. These things lost all meaning years ago. I bet ths majority of people who clap tomorrow won't know the guys name without looking it up.
st albans fox Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 Sounds awful but if we are winning comfortably then this will happen. If it is tight and tense then it won't.
stripeyfox Posted 2 April 2016 Posted 2 April 2016 Ive seen people talking about organising a minute applause for the fan that passed away recently. Is this going ahead at all? To answer your question, I don't know. Some questions of my own: What fan? Who? When? What minute of the game? Seriously this is getting ridiculous. If I croak it on the way to work on Monday, I don't expect the crowd to have a minute's applause for me at the West Ham game.
mozartfox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 On a similar subject, I am surprised we are not being forced to sing the Belgian National Anthem.
erlee Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 thousands of fans die everyday. . . old age, disease, accidents
Fox92 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I never join in with these considering they mean nothing.
tomtom Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 It is incredibly sad what happened and maybe the laying of flowers or something somewhere would have been a nice gesture but (I know this sounds a little heartless) I think a minutes applause for the passing of this gentleman who was attending his first match as a little over the top
Countryfox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Know where you are all coming from here .... This man came with his son who is a big Leicester fan and I'm sure a sign of respect from us would give him a lot of support at such a sad time. However, why it has to be on the 67th minute (he was 67 apparently) is beyond me ... What if the game is at a key moment .... Would we all switch off and start clapping ? .... Doubt it. Which would make a mockery of the whole thing. IF something was to be done it should be at a time when there are no distractions on the pitch. Imo.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 There really are some miserable ****ers on this forum
jamesmilner Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 There really are some miserable ****ers on this forum agreed
Larry_LCFC Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 There really are some miserable ****ers on this forumWhy? It's tragic what happened but most people don't know the guy, don't know his name and probably don't even know he died. He might have hated a minutes applause for all we know. It would just be meaningless.
glen parva fox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Great to see in such a tense game the foxes fans remembered this man. Well done all, Proud to be a member of such great supporters
C-man Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Great to see in such a tense game the foxes fans remembered this man. Well done all, Proud to be a member of such great supporters Did they? I didn't notice.
Babylon Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 Great to see in such a tense game the foxes fans remembered this man. Well done all, Proud to be a member of such great supportersI'm not sure people knew what it was for, in fact I'm positive of it.
DB11 Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 rip and all that but a fan? It was his first ever game Disclaimer: I always say these things are meaningless
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I'm not sure people knew what it was for, in fact I'm positive of it. Exactly. I didn't hear a thing for the record.
stripeyfox Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 I did notice the applause in 67th minute, but am still none the wiser as to who the gentleman is (was).
Larry_LCFC Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 There was an applause in the 67th minute but I had no idea what it was for. More people just started joining in, including my dad. He just thought we were making noise
StanSP Posted 3 April 2016 Posted 3 April 2016 more people applauded than I thought because I was unsure of how many people 1) knew a fan had passed away and 2) knew there would be a minute's applause. I think it started a bit late though cos Southampton had a free-kick in the 67th/68th minute but once that was over the applause really got going.
