weller54 Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Be great if Huth makes the Euros! Thoroughly deserves to. What's his chances?
Voll Blau Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Was chatting to mates from Bochum about this yesterday. No chance sadly, not Low's type of player at all.
MC Prussian Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Jogi Löw has previously stated that Huth is on his radar, but unlikely to part of his squad of 23 for EURO 2016. Huth just won't get past Hummels, Can, Mustafi, Boateng, Rüdiger, Badstuber or Höwedes. I think part of it is also down to age.
bluesbrothers Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Sad really, their defense was appalling against us. Huth certainly wouldn't have let Vardy across him for the backheel, that's for sure!
GaelicFox Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Hope the Krauts forget him He needs to rest If yesterday thought us anything it was that the international crap is a distraction our squad could do without
Dario79 Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 sorry but Low's plan is different,he is building on younger players...even if he deserves to stay into 23-man Germany squad. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AQz1r3Yqnh4
AndWhat? Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 According to the Bochum lads the Germans have the same frustration with players being picked for who they are and who they play for rather than form.
FoxCal Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 According to the Bochum lads the Germans have the same frustration with players being picked for who they are and who they play for rather than form. I appreciate their frustration. But they've just won a World Cup and we didn't get out of our group. We didn't even win a game! Haha at least their 'names' have made a return on that privilege in recent memory.
CosbehFox Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 I appreciate their frustration. But they've just won a World Cup and we didn't get out of our group. We didn't even win a game! Haha at least their 'names' have made a return on that privilege in recent memory. Their back four has effectively been rebuilt and therefore it's been open season for anyone to get in. Emre Can has played right back for continuous games for them now and he's never a RB in a million.
Fox92 Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Germany play out from the back though. He's not that type of defender.
Bryn Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 I think our defence is greater than the sum of its parts, they've improved dramatically and it's their understanding as a unit that makes them so good, and that includes Kasper, Drinkwater and Kante. I don't think Simpson, Morgan and Huth are international class individually myself.
st albans fox Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Germany play out from the back though. He's not that type of defender. This - no chance at all
Jordan Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 It would almost be worth giving one of the squad spots to Huth just to frighten the other team when they think about just the chance of him coming off the bench.
sylofox Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 I hope none of our players make the euro's. Want them all rested and fit for the charity shield. They all deserve the chance of another medal for us. How many will get the chance again.
Hoffe Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Also doesn't help that Löw is an imbecile of a manager. He's playing favorites like no other does. Could easily bring Huth to the Euros as his fourth CB considering he has also nominated the likes of Mertesacker, Rüdiger or Höwedes who aren't exactly ball-playing defenders as well but he won't.
WesMorganGod Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 He deserves it, I know Germany have a lot of good CB's, but Huth deserves it and would be great for him to get picked
mikael2 Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 It seems to me, that Jogi doesn't like players who are very self-confident. And he is.
shailen Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Hope not. Rather have Mertesacker fro Englands chances. Huth would be a bully to Kane and Vardy.
dylanlegend Posted 4 April 2016 Posted 4 April 2016 Big Bobby Huth is a legend, absolute class for us and been an integral part of our upturn in fortunes. Germany are missing a trick by not having him in their team. I honestly think Germany will 'do a spain' and struggle to get out of their group in the euros, haven't exactly been convincing in qualifying and they miss players like Lahm, Bastian (at his best), Klose. Of course, it's also possible in talking complete boll*cks as usual. My money is on the French
Stadt Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Our defence is so good as a collective - If you put Morgan in say Arsenal's defence he'd look worse because he'd be more exposed because their fullbacks don't tuck in as tightly nor does the midfield sit very deep. Huth can't play it out from the back either which wouldn't suit Germany at all.
Wizerud Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 Low was asked about this in the build-up to the England game. Paraphrasing but pretty much said that Huth was having a great season and that he was happy for him but he wouldn't be in Low's plans. Unless there were some unexpected injuries. So the door is not completely shut but looking unlikely.
AyewJoking Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 who plays central defence for germany and are they currently having a better season, playing better than huth?
MC Prussian Posted 5 April 2016 Posted 5 April 2016 who plays central defence for germany and are they currently having a better season, playing better than huth? Badstuber's still out injured, Boateng and Höwedes should be back from injury soon - that leaves Hummels (Europa League experience with Dortmund and still with a slim chance of winning the Bundesliga title), Can (Europa League experience), Mustafi (Champions League and Europa League with Valencia this season), Mertesacker (who turns faster than a glass of milk and has Champions League experience) and Rüdiger (Champions League experience with AS Roma this season).
