treer Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 I'm sure Vardy would want the Golden Boot but settling for the league title and a Guinness World Record isn't so bad! Plus there is one person every year wins the boot, but Vardy's incredible record will likely remain for decades cant fault that for logic
GaelicFox Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 WHO WILL REMEMBER HARRY KANE's 2015/16 season apart from SPUD fans ??? THE WHOLE FECKING WORLD ARE ABOUT TO REMEMBER JAMIE FOR EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!! The only shame I see is the look on the face of the TIT that opened this thread ! GERRR INTO EM F@CK EM UP !
Biggus Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 are we completely ruling out a 40 yard volley from huth against chelsea then? Might turn out like his 40yard free-kick
Clever Fox Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 With Teams packing defences to try and stop us scoring it's not surprising Goals have been hard to come by for him. The most important thing is that he continues to work for the Team. Even if that means creating chances for others. I have a strong feeling that he'll score against Sunderland as their defence is not the Quickest and O Shea doesn't leave the centre much. Which leaves Vardy free to run the channels. So I'm expecting at least one goal from him.
Dodgy Bob Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 I've been disappointed on a few occasions lately when Vardy hasn't been getting into the six yard box for crosses. There was one instance, can't remember the game when Drinkwater got to the byline and Vardy should have been in the six yard box but wasn't, drinky even pulled it back towards the edge of the box but Vardy was still too far back, he was just stood outside the penalty box not even trying to get onto the cross. Can't fault his effort in general of course but if wants to score he has to get himself at least into the box and preferably right into the six yard box on occasions like that.
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 He's been contributing, though. I'd be more worried if his contribution and work ethic dried up as well as his goals. He'll score again soon, no doubt about it.
UPinCarolina Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Vardy's becoming a more complete player - so no, it's not a shame. He's now a striker who will score AND track back AND isn't so selfish as to cost the team chances.
Fox92 Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Vardy's becoming a more complete player - so no, it's not a shame. He's now a striker who will score AND track back AND isn't so selfish as to cost the team chances. Agree. His off the ball work, and making runs, are much better now.
Sampson Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 He's playing really well atm and got quite a few assists recently so no. If he looked low on confidence and was playing below bar then it would be, but he's still been just as talismanic a player for us as ever recently. He's far more to us than just his goals.
Fox 4 Life Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Of course it's a shame, if they hadn't dried up we wouldn't be winning games 1-0. Bottom line is he is still playing well and creating goals so it's not an issue. Would be perfect timing for a 6 game scoring run though!!
Shinji-San Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 All things considered, I doubt he'll be losing much sleep about it
MPH Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 If he had score 30+ goals, the bigger teams would be courting him too...
AyewJoking Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 we're just so good our only striker can have a dry spell and we keep winning.
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 He's stuck on the 19 goal mark. A fair few strikers struggle when they get to that point I think once he gets his 20th a few more will fly in!
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Ever since the Liverpool game where he scored that worldie, he has scored 1 goal for Leicester (penalty). Obviously his game is a lot more than just goals, but just wonder if that goal actually derailed his goalscoring form a bit? Or is it just the new way we are playing. It is not really the new way we are playing its how every other team plays against us. That's basically to nullify the treat of Vards, which no doubt has made matters more difficult for us. If teams had carried on letting us do what we wanted, Vardy maybe would have been on 25 for the season by now, but they haven't and he's not. He's still playing well, which is the main thing. Love him to pip Kane, but that looks unlikely now, but it's a funny old game.
Jaspa Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 I dont think he'll be worrying about it and to say anything to do with Vardy is 'a shame', right now is ridiculous. Its almost as if OP thinks the team bus on the way back is something like this
Mint23 Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Teams have changed the way they play against us and don't give him space in behind but he's adapted brilliantly to turn provider on several occasions which just shows what a talent he is. As good a striker Kane is I don't think he's as complete a player as Vardy, he's too gready and shoots at every opportunity which is fine when the goals are going in but I just can't see him adapting as well as Vardy has if/when the goals dry up.
Guest seanfox778 Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 He's still had the best season of his life. I have to say I'd be a bit gutted for him if he didn't make 20 goals though.
The_77 Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 He'll score. Even if he doesn't, he's been incredibly productive and could have picked up a beauty of an assist against Southampton.
kushiro Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Haven't worked this out but I have a hunch our recoed when Vardy scores is only fractionally better, or maybe even inferior to our record when he doesn't.
Matt Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Whilst i'd prefer him firing all cylinders and getting the Golden Boot it doesn't bother me too much because we're still winning and to all those people who said "We'll see where you are when Vardy's goal dry up" it's a big and Because we're still here.
kushiro Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 Haven't worked this out but I have a hunch our recoed when Vardy scores is only fractionally better, or maybe even inferior to our record when he doesn't. Now I have worked it out. It's pretty simple: Games Vardy's scored in: 16 Points: 34 Games Vardy's not scored in: 16 Points 35. That is weird.
Kinowe Soorie Posted 8 April 2016 Posted 8 April 2016 He's gonna have a B-movie made about him! What more could he want?
