Rooney, the mainstream media outlets still think he's the same player he was 5 years ago. I think Coutinh-o-o-o is a tad overrated too, he's certainly a good player but he's not as good as some people think.

coutinho is amazing

I've just had a look at his stats for this season and they're much better than I thought tbf

been in and out the team with injuries a bit too. he is really good and if anything is underrated by most the country. sure he's overrated by liverpool fans but he plays for them. we all overrate our good players.

Jack Grealish - I have never ever seen the hype about him. Relegation and regular football is probably not bad for him though.

Theo Walcott - Sven rightly blasted in 2006 after taking him to a tournament before he was ready. Ten years later and he still isn't ****ing ready. One dimensional as they come.

John Stones - The absolute epitome of the way we now seem to prioritise the bonus aspects of a players game over the basics. A good ball player but in terms of mistakes leading to goals must be somewhere near the top. A talent for sure but forty million? Unbelievable.

Darryl Janmaat - Playing for Holland doesn't make you a top player, which is a lot of people's justification with this bloke. I haven't got a clue how so many seem to rate him. I either catch him on his bad days or everyone's blinkered.

Micah Richards - Was highly rated about 6 years ago and has clung onto it despite showing absolutely nothing since then.

Memphis Depay - I think he may come back to prove me wrong but so far he's been a flop.

Jordan Henderson - Jack of all trades, master of none yet rated as being a lot better than that. Drinkwater is a comfortably better player.

I stopped reading after "sent from my iPhone using tapatalk"

Kane, Alli, Lloris, Ramsey, rashford, martial, sterling, Walcott, Bournemouth, Andros Townsend

Considering that was the last thing said in the post I'd imagine that was the case for most of us.

Forgot Mata, when was the last time he actually did something good? He'd barely make our bench.

Probably the overhead kick vs Liverpool at Anfield.

Yaya Toure.

Always said it.

He looks good in the PL but put him into Europe he looks so average.

Nobody rates him now because he's about 47 but when he was in his prime for City he was winning games on his own.

He scored or assisted 36 goals from centre midfield in the season they last won the league. That's utterly ridiculous.

12 months ago I'd have said Touré but I don't think he's that highly rated anymore.

I can't think of anybody universally rated that I don't think is that good. If we're talking about the media and pundits, then probably Wayne Rooney.

The jokers that put Coutinho and Payet in here gave me a good laugh though haha.

I sort of see where those are coming from with regards to Payet.

Some pundits think he should be player of the season, which is over rating him.

Yeah that's pretty ridiculous on their parts, but you could probably make an argument for hundreds of players if we're to base a player being overrated on a few people's opinions.

If he'd have had a full season I think he'd be in with a shout. The difference between West Ham with him and without him is nuts though. They looked like slipping into Everton territory before he came back.
