Lloydwasmylife Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Is blue and white just too similar to Chelsea's colours or have the owners requested the gold? I can't see this going down well, although personally I'm not fussed as long as Leicester is engraved on the bugger
shade Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 honestly couldn't give a shít if they were pink with green spots.
Lloydwasmylife Posted 6 May 2016 Author Posted 6 May 2016 The more I look at it the more it reminds me of Topps Tiles
Ricey Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Not keen on the reasoning behind the yellow but it's good that they don't look like the Chelsea ones.
Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Looks good imo. Different to this years and although gold is a recent addition to the strip we've always had yellow/orange somewhere

Blue is for Leicester City and yellow is for the royal house of Thailand, according to Top:http://www.bigstory.ap.org/article/48c03d0cb3774f4b9c21871f0810f688/leicester-owners-aim-keep-winning-team-together I presume it's OK because yellow is close enough to being a Leicester color (it's prominent in the logo, after all). I would doubt the Premier League would allow anything outside blue, white, yellow or gold for Leicester.
KFS Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 That's not as bad as I thought. Looks like the filbert crest palette really. I don't however like the real reasoning behind it. I think Jordan posted yesterday that it's been done because it relates to the colours of the Thailand national king which is utter guff if true. Pissed me off enough parading round a picture of the guy... Keep football free of that kind of thing imo.
Itsthejoeker Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 My brother would gladly have your ticket if you're that bothered.
bovril Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 Prefer blue and white, but the very fact we're having this debate just blows my mind.
Jace Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 The more I look at it the more it reminds me of Topps Tiles FFS you've just ruined it for me now
sdb Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 The more I look at it the more it reminds me of Topps Tiles That is a problem to be fair.
Harry - LCFC Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 As I've said already, blue and white are our colours. Regardless of how much an issue you think it is I doubt many people would disagree when I say that one of the colours chosen is not the correct one.

Personally, I'd prefer football to be without that sort of thing similarly to you, and even following the club from afar, I believe the club should be a Leicester institution first and foremost. But while I might not agree with this whole song and dance, I can see why the owners do it. This shows a big difference in culture in Thailand, where many revere the king, and insulting the king can land one in prison for years. And in some way, Vichai and perhaps Leicester City wouldn't be where they are without the king, as it was he that granted King Power royal approval to have a monopoly on duty free stores in Thailand. Vichai obviously had to have some business accumen to both get himself into that position and to make the most of that privilege, but that was a big time meal ticket. Plus, if Elizabeth II made a royal decree to change your last name to something like Lightofprogressiveglory or McBoatface, you'd kind of have to play along. If that happened to me, yeah, I'd roll with it.
Fox42 Posted 6 May 2016 Posted 6 May 2016 I think it's gorgeous. Gives ourselves an identity. So many teams have blue and white. This yellow/gold colour gives us plenty of character.
