I've been so ****ing unproductive because of this thread, I had plans and they have gone to sh*t because I can't stop clicking refresh. My life is very boring but still.

Arsenal should be a new insult, 'he's a right Arsenal' lol

And entirely appropriate for anyone making excuses a la Wenger or pressurising the ref.

Arsenal offered Vardy £120k a week but a new Leicester proposal is approaching six figures too

Arsene Wenger is braced for disappointment in his attempt to sign Jamie Vardy.

The striker's current club Leicester came back with an improved contract offer on Monday, and Vardy’s team-mates have made an emotional plea to stop him joining Wenger at Arsenal.

Vardy, 29, had promised the Gunners' boss an answer on Monday, when he flew out with England for Euro 2016 duty in France. But he did not get in contact, leaving the Londoners fearing the worst.

Boss Wenger, who had offered to meet the player’s £20million buy-out clause, believes he would have accepted Arsenal’s offer by now if he was keen to move to the Emirates.

Instead, his silence was deafening.

The Gunners offered a contract worth around £120,000-a-week worth over four years — double what he is currently on at Leicester after signing a new deal only in February.

But, as we revealed yesterday , the champions' Thai owners are understood to have moved quickly by proposing improved terms to take Vardy up towards the £100,000-a-week mark.

Vardy has also been told by England boss Roy Hodgson to put the transfer talk on hold to concentrate on the Euros, and agents have been banned from the training base in Chantilly.

Leicester midfielder Andy King has revealed the whole dressing room have gathered together to plead with Vardy to stay.

Asked if he would be in contact to try to stop the 30-year-old leaving, Wales international King replied: “Yeah, of course. We want all our best players to stay and try to build from there. But what he decides to do is up to him.”

Arsenal’s interest came after Vardy’s incredible 24-goal haul in Leicester’s title winning season.

“Was I surprised? No, I don’t think so because all of our players have had brilliant seasons and are going to be linked with big clubs,” added King.

“For Leicester, it is going to be a summer of speculation of incomings and out-goings. Nothing has happened yet and it will probably be a long transfer window.

“It is 25 players in a squad and if one or two decide they want to go and play their football elsewhere ,we wish them all the best. But we want to keep our best players and hopefully add to that.”

King is away with Wales in France, preparing for their Group B opener on Saturday against Slovakia.

He said: “I will deal with Leicester when I get back, but for the next five or six weeks it is about Wales and what we can hopefully do in the tournament.”

Cross is close to Wenger and has an exclusive interview with him so is normally fairly trust worthy on stuff like this

And Nursey usually has decent LCFC info from what I remember???

I really want him to stay. I've spent months teaching my three year old that Vardy is a hero. He's proper excited to see him play for England, how can I tell him that Vardys turned to the dark side!

But if we lose him and start next season with Musa and/or Deeney it's not the end of the world.

You could distract him by teaching him the alphabet and counting

Well that's a big turn around from Cross. On Saturday he was adamant that Vardy was a done deal, signed and sealed. ****.

I think a lot assumed if Arsenal came in he'd come running, including Arsenal themselves - that's where the "info" will have come from.

Great to read the stuff from Kingy there, the guy is a true club legend. It makes me feel much more positive if the whole squad is in indeed rallying around to keep players together. Can't be a bad sign.

Nah he has a source but he makes allot up. We've been misled by him many a time.

Exactly, it's not info, he's making shit up. Assuming he'd sign just because Arsenal offered isn't enough to write an article and a series of tweets declaring Vardy's move is done and dusted.

If he stays I'll be happily astonished. Moving to Arsenal makes all the sense in the world and, at the same time, no sense at all.

I think it's 50/50. He can't quite decide. Let's hope the bond between the band of brothers is stronger than the lure of the London muppets.

Hi to you leicester fans.

I'm a arsenal fan and I sincerely hope all your top players stay I think they owe your club and fans a proper dig at retaining your title and having a crack at champs league

I just want to wish you best of luck and hope I don't get abuse for being a arsenal fan...

Good luck for next season your support and club are a credit to the premiership
