cityfanlee23 Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Are you high? Newcastle have been much better since benitez came in. Not really sure why you highlighted the top sentence, He started 3 games under McClaren.
AKCJ Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Newcastle have been much better since benitez came in. Not really sure why you highlighted the top sentence, He started 3 games under McClaren. No, they haven't and no, I didn't.
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 No, they haven't and no, I didn't. The top sentence of the 2 you highlighted... As soon as benitez came in he started him every week and they've turned their form around. Lascelles has been quality under benitez.
ARTY_FOX Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Mitrovic could be quality but there's too much work needed to be done on him. He'll be someone that never reaches his full potential imo
Tuna Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 A huge no from me as far as wijnaldum is concerned. Went completely awol after Christmas, he's uncommitted and unreliable and we don't want that near our football club.
AKCJ Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 The top sentence of the 2 you highlighted... As soon as benitez came in he started him every week and they've turned their form around. Lascelles has been quality under benitez. Lascelles has been a mediocre Premier League player and has been the best of a bad bunch. All he's done is outshine Coloccini and Taylor. "Quality" is a monstrous overstatement. Newcaslte have been dogshit all season and did not improve under Benitez.
cityfanlee23 Posted 14 May 2016 Posted 14 May 2016 Lascelles has been a mediocre Premier League player and has been the best of a bad bunch. All he's done is outshine Coloccini and Taylor. "Quality" is a monstrous overstatement. Newcaslte have been dogshit all season and did not improve under Benitez. He's improved them in pretty much every single stat since he arrived. It's also a massive understatement to say someone has been mediocre when they were not given a chance until march.
Suffolk exile Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 I'm of the mindset that we need to think differently for the first time in our history. We're the Premier league champions! I honestly don't see anyone mentioned in this thread that can improve anyone we already have.
artursteppe Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 I've always thought Vernon Anita could be a low cost utility player. Can do both full back positions and defensive midfield. Useful all rounder.
shen Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 I've always thought Vernon Anita could be a low cost utility player. Can do both full back positions and defensive midfield. Useful all rounder. So basically what Amartey does...
Sankey93 Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 I'd take idrissa gueye from villa he's a brilliant player just doesn't get the credit he deserves due to being in a shit team! 2nd to kante with most stats
Bluearmyfox28 Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Wijnaldum and mitrovic had a good game today Yeah mitrovic got a straight red great game that.
cityfanlee23 Posted 15 May 2016 Posted 15 May 2016 Yeah mitrovic got a straight red great game that. We've not had any reds this season. Goal and an assist, both classy bits of play.
lee7 Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Nathan Redmond/Andros Townsend either of those to add quality and depth to our team going forward.
Carl the Llama Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 I'd rather strangle a dog than have Mitrovic play for the City.
Dan Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 Wijnaldum and mitrovic had a good game today Opponents were on the beach
AyewJoking Posted 16 May 2016 Posted 16 May 2016 i like redmond but where would he fit? Assuming mahrez, albrighton, gray and schlupp are all with us next season.
chicagofox Posted 17 May 2016 Posted 17 May 2016 Redmond has been a bit-part player in a terrible team. What part of that makes him a good signing for a Champions League club looking to retain a Premier League title? We don't need any players from the three relegated clubs.
4fuxsake Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Haven't seen much of villa this season, but the closest player to kante (stats wise) is Idrissa Gueye. Any views on him?
ronnup Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Sissoko is probably the only player id like to see here as a Kante replacement if needed
thybluefox Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 If this had been Man united or city or Arsenal just winning the title do you think for a moment any of them would be looking at any players from relegated squads ? Yeah, because those teams have been incredibly successful in the transfer market recently haven't they. Instead of looking for good players in poor teams, they just spend ludicrous amounts of money on average players from good teams. Sounds like a great ****ing idea. Haven't seen much of villa this season, but the closest player to kante (stats wise) is Idrissa Gueye. Any views on him? He's been mentioned at least 5 times in this thread already
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 Tim Krul might be an interesting pick up. Newcastle won't be able to satisfy 3 keepers so may be willing to sell Krul - and with him needing to establish himself again after being injured for the season he may be willing to come in as 'competition' in the goalkeeping department.
dogadug Posted 19 May 2016 Posted 19 May 2016 These players are similar to others we've signed in the past regarding them being unwanted by others ie Albrighton , Morgan etc. Obviously some are utter rubbish ie Lescott. But others have a point to prove ie Redmond and for the right price could be a decent fit
