Jimothy Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Newcastle are the obviously the ones to look at. Some quality players there if you can get them playing. We need cover at centre back, preferably younger than Huth and Morgan, I'd look at Mbemba or Lascelles. You've got to remember if they play it'll be in cups, or to cover injuries and suspensions to the main two, not along side each other like they have this season. They've got a lot to learn, but they can learn it here. Any of their three keepers would be ideal back up for Kasper (obviously Elliott is injured atm). Sissoko, Townsend, Wijnaldum and Mitrovic are the others, players who if you can get playing would be quality additions, because when they put effort in they're good players. Maybe that counts them out as they're mentally week. Redmond at Norwich obviously has potential, but we're well stocked in that position. Ruddy would be good cover for Kasper. At Villa. Traore maybe once he's fit. Westwood at a push, he wasn't totally useless but nobody else.
dbtcity Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 The amount of Newcastle fans I've seen that have said Wijnaldum is awful yet our fans think he's some sort of God.... I think I'll go with the fans that watch him week in week out
mozartfox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Mitrovic is a hot-head. I do not think he fits our DNA.
crisp packet Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Relegated for a reason ??? Dilly ding dilly dong! Newcastle writing been on the wall for a few years? Norwich yo yo ( 20 players in that squad relegated before) Villa , enough said... Leave the dregs to burnley, Boro and the playoff winners? No ta!
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 They're all shite with shite mentalities. If we signed anyone from those clubs I'd be horrendously disappointed.
Birmingham fox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Lascelles as been outstanding since benitez came in. Reckon he could be a future star with the right coaching. People were saying Morgan was shite last year, look at him now. Townsend again with the right manager could be great. Also Robbie Brady I think is hugely under rated and thought he was excellent at the kp.
LCCFox96 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Nathan Redmond is the only player I'd strongly look at. Always looks positive when he plays, gets in similar drives forward and take-ons to our current wide players and a bit of pace. Might be a good buy for us based purely on his attributes. Not sure why he hasn't had more minutes at Norwich this season. Ayoze Perez is an intriguing one. Seems to have flashes of brilliance mixed into a lot of dire performances. Can never decided if I like or if he has something or not. Regardless of whose available from relegated clubs we can probably do a lot better from foreign markets.
Tuna Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Ruddy would be a very capable deputy for Schmeichel. Yes to Townsend as well.
Gerard Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Most Newcastle fans I've seen have said Wijnaldum is average and has been anonymous since January, despite winning them points earlier on. Same for Perez. Exactly, people are judging Wijnaldum on the goals he got at the start of the season which were mainly at home against weak opposition and bolstered by the four he got against Norwich. There is nobody from the relegated clubs that particularly whet my appetite. Redmond is decent but is he any better than what we have here? He'd cost a fortune and he wasn't trusted enough to be a regular starter for Norwich. We really need to start looking beyond decent players. I'd like to see us make about 6/7 signings this summer. A few squad bolstering players like Luis Hernandez who come on a Bosman are great but if we're paying fancy money I want it spent on a couple of players who would be a similar level to Vardy, Mahrez & Kante or young players with huge potential. I don't want us signing mid table PL players who are mid 20's for good money.

Guest Mee-9 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Janmaat's the only one, but then again. We're in the champions league and we just won the league.
hornyhollthefox123 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Janmaat's the only one, but then again. We're in the champions league and we just won the league. Janmaat? Can't believe people are suggesting him. We've destroyed him every time he's played for Newcastle against us. He's vaguely ok going forward but is so so poor defensively. For me I'd consider Winjaldum / Sissoko as I do think we need a midfielder capable of playing wide or further forward.
Harry96 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Janmaat's the only one, but then again. We're in the champions league and we just won the league. please tell me you're joking he's fekin atrocious
foxes21 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Amavi is clearly talented, shame about his injury. However he is an attacking full back, rather then a defensive one so I don't think he'd fit in here.
Danno Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I can't think of a single one that would make our first team, and most would cost a ridiculous amount just for a bench player, which is why buying from abroad is always easier.
The Blur Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 There is no way that Ruddy will settle for a back up role. I'll imagine he has England aspirations and will want to be a starter.
Simo86 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 There is no way that Ruddy will settle for a back up role. I'll imagine he has England aspirations and will want to be a starter. Aspirations to sit on the bench? 5th choice at the moment at best, maybe even 6th. Once Jordan Pickford is starting regularly in a year or 2 he'll be 7th! Hart, Butland, Forster, Foster, Heaton, Pickford & Ruddy I'd say he would only be in front of Pickford in that list in my opinion
Fox92 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 No way should we sign Mitrovic. First of all, he's the wrong type of attitude that Ranieri always talks about and secondly he's no better than what we already have.
peach0000 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 We've been linked with Veretout and Mitrovic in previous seasons so i wouldn't be surprised if we were in for them. Personally would like Lascelles too as back up. Maybe Ruddy, Krul or Darlow to provide some competition for Kasper.
simon789us Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Wijnaldum is dogshit. Redmond and Robbie Brady are probably the best of the lot but we're sorted out wide really.Would take redmond as replacement for dyer
simon789us Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Ex barca kid at villa for the life of me Cannot remember his name but played in barcas first team so Carnt be that bad
LegendOfJoe Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 He may be an upgrade on Albrighton in some aspects - but can he cross it as beautifully as our bargain buy from Villa? don't get me wrong, our bargain buy from Villa will always have a place. Cant go wrong with a hard working player but sometimes we need something different.
