Simo86 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Ex barca kid at villa for the life of me Cannot remember his name but played in barcas first team so Carnt be that bad Adama Traore
Benguin Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 If we had just slightly improved on last season, a few names would interest me. Townsend, Redmond, Mitrovic, Shelvey etc. Now were champions I can't see any of them being more than squad players or ones for the future. I'd like maybe Redmond and Ayoze Perez
Grewks Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I think its a tad harsh suggesting that just because these players have been relegated, suggests that they're not good enough. Our 'Premier league winning captain' was relegated to league 1.
les-tah Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I agree i would rather have Gray as he is now over redmond!
FantasticMrFox&Son Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Only one worth adding to our squad would be Andros Townsend IMO. From club to International level he's performed WHEN he's had the backing and confidence of his manager.
The Blur Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Aspirations to sit on the bench? 5th choice at the moment at best, maybe even 6th. Once Jordan Pickford is starting regularly in a year or 2 he'll be 7th! Hart, Butland, Forster, Foster, Heaton, Pickford & Ruddy I'd say he would only be in front of Pickford in that list in my opinion I meant as a part of England set up. I believe that he will want to be a regular starter for his club so he can get picked for England squads.
Grewks Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Gray has impressed in the limited time available, but has done nothing to suggest he is better than redmond. I think, with regards to our first XI, the weakest areas are probably behind vards, on the left and at right back. Okazaki, exceptional work-rate, but honestly lacks any sort of technical premier league quality. Albrighton, same as okazaki work-rate wise, but he is lacking in footballing intelligence with the amount of times he wastes possession. Simpson, just lacks the 'fuchs quality' as a full back. Good defender, just lacks the ability to cross a ball for instance.
Gerard Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 None of the relegated players have impressed me enough to buy. Remember that we would only want their very best players and they will still cost a fortune. If they aren't good enough to play for a top four side I don't want my club spending £10m+ on them. If people are suggesting these players I'd like them to also quantify what role they would have at our club and whose position that they would take and transfer fee but I expect most want and just come out with random names.
mozartfox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Nicky Maynard has been released by relegated MK Dons. How things change when you have a muppet agent.......
HoustonFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Nicky Maynard has been released by relegated MK Dons. How things change when you have a muppet agent....... Or just aren't that good really. Back on topic... I would take Ruddy as back up if he wanted to come, very worried about lack of Kasper back up. Redmond is awesome but everyone will be after him. On his day, Wijnaldum is up there. He'd be way overpriced though. No one from Villa.

Wouldn't surprise me if we went in for Idrissa Gana Gueye from Villa should Kante leave. His stats are up there and that's what the scouts will look at
foxfanazer Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I'd probably take that Tim Klose from Norwich. Highly rated (anything must be better than Bassong) by Norwich fans who say they would've stayed up if he hadn't got injured.
tom27111 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Are people really suggesting Andros Townsend? He's shite. As for Jordan Ayew, he's not even the close to being the best footballer in his own family.
filbertway Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Makes me laugh, people seem to have forgotten we were done and dusted until the final 7 games last season.... Just because a team goes down does not mean they can't do a job at another club, Anyone who would turn down Lascelles clearly watches football with their eyes closed. Or most likely, doesn't really watch any football aside from match of the day.
wardyfox86 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I think we should look at Redmond and Townsend. It may mean we overstock our options for next season, but we will be competing on 3 fronts. Mahrez I think we only have for 1 more season unless we win the champions league. So when he inevitably leaves, having those two here with a year to bed in under the right coaching, would bode well. Look how many players have absolutely sky-rocketed after a year or so "bedding in"
matty98 Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Mbokani who's on loan at Norwich could be good, wins pretty much everything in the air and very good at holding the ball up
LCFC FOX Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Redmond is the only one I think would be decent in our team. Maybe Mitro is slightly better than Ulloa but I'm not sure.

Look how many players have absolutely sky-rocketed after a year or so "bedding in" I'd go for Redmond on sensible wages but not Townsend. I bet he's on 60-70k at Newcastle, he'll be cheap to buy but wages makes him an expensive option. I wouldn't be surprised if he stayed at Newcastle
SheppyFox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I'd take Townsend, I've only seen him a handful of times in fairness but every single time he's look an absolutely dreadful player to defend against.
Grewks Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Would take redmond over townsend all day long: 1) His wages would be half. 2) Townsend always gives off a 'walcott' type feeling to me. But i don't want either.
Fatty Arbuckle Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Wouldn't surprise me if we went in for Idrissa Gana Gueye from Villa should Kante leave. His stats are up there and that's what the scouts will look at I'm with you; his stats are incredible really, not far behind Kante when I last looked. Wouldn't be surprised if him or Veretout arrive this summer; the thing about our scouting system is that they are chosen with a particular role in mind. It strikes me that other clubs, Villa in this instance, just saw the stats and thought he'll do without much thought at all about how they'd actually use Veretout. As for Redmond I'll be amazed if we don't make a move, surely he's right up our street.
StanSP Posted 12 May 2016 Author Posted 12 May 2016 Mbokani who's on loan at Norwich could be good, wins pretty much everything in the air and very good at holding the ball up ugh, no thanks. we can do a lot better.

Give you your dues with that lee.I do like Redmond though, young and found the net enough in a struggling side. Think his face would fit too. Question is whether or not he is quite good enough or not.
foxfanazer Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Redmond is so limited its unreal. Definitely a no from me
