Langston Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 .... He's 22 and has as much potential as our captain did.... We can rule out players like lapadula then, he's not champions league... Our scouts have done it all wrong haven't they? Langston you surprise me, normally you don't come out with rubbish like that, as a leicester fan you should have it instilled in your mind that the club a player is at does not determine who he could be. Pretty obvious Lascelles is going places. I'm rubbishing it because he's not very good, chill out a bit.
cityfanlee23 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 I'm rubbishing it because he's not very good, chill out a bit. Lascelles has been Newcastles most consistent player since benitez came in... Honestly the most hilarious comments I've seen for a few months. You're one of the only ones who would not take Lascelles that's for sure.

You're one of the only ones who would not take Lascelles that's for sure. I agree. Lascelles looks a very accomplished defender for his age and seems to have the right character to fit in with our ethos.
LegendOfJoe Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Wijnaldum has to be looked at, absolute class with bags of pace and an eye for goal. Plays well down the middle and out wide so would be perfect. Reckon he'd be an upgrade on Albrighton (hurts to say it) - he works hard and has that little flare that can create a goal...cant leave the weight of goals just on our magic pair.
ThingsCouldGetMessi Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 I would be happy to sign Redmond as we need to sign English players when we can for HG purposes. Even then I would loan him out so he plays every week instead of rotation like he would get here. Besides that there is little appealing. We came top and they were the bottom 3 sides for a reason.
Ozwin Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 We just won the league man! We don't need to look at the relegated side's squads anymore. Let's get out of this mentality, they went down for a reason.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Given the opportunity if we had to choose I suppose these would probably be looked at: Wijnaldum Redmond Townsend Hoolahan Ayew Lascelles

Pretty obvious Lascelles is going places. I probably wouldn't take him. It's not like Newcastle have improved greatly. Compared with Taylor and Coloccini, I'm sure even Liam Moore would be looking quite solid. Lascelles wasn't even being started by Forest for the second part of last season. They obviously didn't think he was that good. Mclaren didn't fancy him (though that doesn't say a lot). He's no brick wall like Huth/Morgan. Better options out there for me...
stevelcfc Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 People are just naming players who are half decent on FIFA. Lascelles is about the only one I'd even consider taking. Ruddy as back up maybe but that is it.
lifted*fox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Only if Walsh thinks they fit the profile. I think they're all full of shit players who couldn't give a **** personally. This. Not a single player in any of those teams looks like they're fit enough to butter a slice of bread let alone pull on a Leicester City kit and play for us. **** them all, losers.
Mezeker Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 people saying noone are just lazy and have low football knowledge. Wijnaldum, Laselles,Towsend, Mitrovic, Perez...could name more. Change of scenery does wonders for players especially the younger they are, some of you branding them because they got relegated are bush league.
TheSomersetFox Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Wijnaldum is dogshit. Redmond and Robbie Brady are probably the best of the lot but we're sorted out wide really.
Mezeker Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Wijnaldum is dogshit. Redmond and Robbie Brady are probably the best of the lot but we're sorted out wide really. Wijnaldum dogshit? haha ok....
JayPittardBlueatheart Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 I know we have two awesome LB's but it would be a waste not to look at Amavi, his stats and performances prior to his injury were awesome
foxes21 Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Wijnaldum isn't dogshit. However it's obvious that he hasn't put the effort in & performed to the best of his ability for Newcastle. That's not a good sign. Look at the players we signed who got rejected. Albrighton, Simpson, Drinkwater, Fuchs, Huth, etc.. Were their complaints of their lack of effort/desire @ their previous clubs? No. Newcastle Fans despise Wijnaldum because he could have tried harder & put more effort in throughout the season, like alot of their players. Only Newcastle player I'd take is Lascelles, due to his age/potential. The rest of that squad is full of overpaid mercenaries & shouldn't even be considered.

AKCJ Posted 11 May 2016 Posted 11 May 2016 Lascelles has been turd all season bar a few games recently (and those games have been in patches). He's no great shake. He's certainly not "going places".
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Only if Walsh thinks they fit the profile. I think they're all full of shit players who couldn't give a **** personally. If Walsh does give his seal of approval then yesBut . . .
Dan Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Townsend is probably the only one I'd go near and even then there's better.
Soar Fox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 We just won the league man! We don't need to look at the relegated side's squads anymore. Let's get out of this mentality, they went down for a reason. And this squad that very nearly got relegated has won us the league. Our team is made up of players who clubs didn't think were good enough, Albrighton, Huth, Schmeichel, Simpson, Morgan all players who were deemed surplus to requirements. Yes we should aim higher and yes we probably will, but let's not change the way we became successful.

Wijnaldum is responsible for half of Newcastle points, and you say they dont like him for lack of desire? What do you expect from a football player when they the entire environment at the club is garbage and toxic?

He may be an upgrade on Albrighton in some aspects - but can he cross it as beautifully as our bargain buy from Villa?
lgfualol Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 Most Newcastle fans I've seen have said Wijnaldum is average and has been anonymous since January, despite winning them points earlier on. Same for Perez.
st albans fox Posted 12 May 2016 Posted 12 May 2016 I wonder if Jordan Veretout has changed his agent? Given that we like to go back for players, it wouldn't be a surprise. not sure villa played him in his favoured position/role.
