Southampton have to appeal that red card surely?!! (Straight red weren't it?)

We'll see if that's successful, if not it really does show how much The FA protect their little tin gods.

Southampton/Redmond should be more outraged with that than we are with Vardy.

I hope they appeal and it's successful anyway, I only put him in my fantasy team yesterday! lol:doh:

Seems He ain't short of a few pound notes

Sean Dyche is top of the Premier League clocks with a £45,000 watch while Bob Bradley ran out of time at Swansea this week donning a £40 timepiece

'Kinell, he could have bought 3 players and got them a car each for that price lol

I thought that the new rule stated you couldn't be sent off for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity anymore if the foul was inside the box?

Was Redmond already booked?

Can't stand Alli, such a cheating little **** yet the media think the world shines out of his arse.

That only applies if the challenge was deemed to be a genuine attempt to win the ball

As has been intimated on here before I think, Monk's leaving Swansea was allegedly due to his perceived lack of support for the players after they were upset by some board member's shenanigans... You can join the dots.

He wasn't a bad manager as he has shown with Leeds although he had a bad spell which coincided shall we say with the off field issues.

Importantly for us, the Swans might get Coleman. He will be tempted. We (Wales) are going to struggle to get to WC 2018 after our faltering start and with Bale possibly out for the next key games, then Coleman might cut his losses with his head held high after the Euros. Some here might not rate him, but he is shrewd, organised and can get teams motivated. Moreover, he knows what it takes in relegation battles. Whilst Hull might be favourites for the drop, that tag I feel will disappear for Swansea if Coleman goes there. We need to get ourselves sorted.

Two yellows?

If thats the case they can't appeal then, as I said the other week, yet another stupid rule.

ridiculous rule, leaves it completely open to interpretation, different refs will see it differently. There was nothing wrong with the old rule, you chop someone in the box, last man, gone red card.

It's not really, if you make a genuine attempt to win the ball in the box but commit a foul it's a penalty, that's enough of a hindrance, if it's not normally a red card offence in the outfield Why should it be a red card and a 3 game ban just because it's in the penalty area

but what is a genuine attempt to win the ball? Only the player making the tackle can know, to everyone else it can depend on what angle you're at etc. It was never a 3 game ban anyway, professional fouls are 1 game

I will let the ruling explain

"When a denial of a goalscoring opportunity offence is committed by a defender in the penalty area, the penalty kick effectively restores the goalscoring opportunity so the punishment for the player should be less strong (e.g. a yellow card) than when the offence is committed outside the penalty area. However, when the offence is handball or clearly not a genuine attempt to play or challenge for the ball, the player will be sent off."

It'll be interesting to see if Vertonghen gets a retrospective ban

for deliberately slapping the Southampton player in the face.

I guess probably not.

The 3 independent FA representatives could not agree

No further action will be taken

So i've just posted a similar thing in reply in the West Ham thread but I guess this really belongs in here, I was wondering if someone could explain something.

Nathan Redmond, firstly it wasn't a sending off anyway but he got sent off, straight red, looking at the Premier League app, the FA website, e.t.c, it says he has a 1 match ban.

Vardy got a red card and his was a 3 match ban? Why, what's the difference?

Is it something to do with appealing Vardy's red card as to why it's 3? I didn't think that made any difference, he got no extra added because of the appeal.

A straight red for denying a goal scoring opportunity is only 1 game, whilst a straight red for serious foul play, or violent conduct is 3 games. Vardy would fall into the latter.

After last season I really didn't think I'd be watching Hull V Everton and wanting Everton to win as it keeps us Hull a little further away from us.

I was just looking at the score thinking it was good. Sad to realize it's better the other way.
