Southampton go to Napoli and get this lad for £14mill. Not denying we've been hit and miss, but I suspect we would find pretty much every club has its duds if we looked closely. For every Mahrez there's a Moose. But I think it may be that some of these buys are looking average in a struggling team, they could all yet come good. Let's hope so
Vacamion Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Is this game going to end up in a Chelsea style brawl? Love it when Spurs lose their heads.
TheStig Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Spurs must be the worst losers in the Prem - oh and bottling it again - love it!!!
bluesbrothers Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Come on Liverpool, be nice and score 2 more.
StanSP Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 McManaman just said it certainly hasn't been a dirty game yet there's been 7 bookings and lots of niggly fouls and bad tackles

Lots of bodies around our box, playing on the counter. We didn't have any particular set-up that day. Because of Pep's hubris, ManCity played a high line defense with 3 "defenders", which was an invitation to be utterly destroyed by our counters. The game after, everything went back to normal, opponent sitting deep and us losing. Against Bournemouth.
ZeGuy Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Spurs showing their dirty side as soon as they lose.

What really bothers me is the way Spurs are protected by the FA to the point that as you say, they foul and play extremely dirty when either losing or up against it, in which case they should be red carded or at least 2 yellows... But no, they only receive single yellows and are then ignored when committing other bookable offences!!?? Contrast that with Vardy and Drinkwater for us and they never get the benefit of the doubt and for far less aggressive or spiteful challenges...

Jimothy Posted 11 February 2017 Posted 11 February 2017 Spurs really don't have enough strength in depth to mount a serious challenge. Their striking options behind Kane are poor with Jansen and Son. They also have too many players who slot into other positions, which means when they lose a regular starter they have to move another starter to cover him and then cover a second position. So Dier moves from midfield to cover the defence, so they have to cover midfield too, Son is used to cover up front which means they have to cover a winger too, Alli can play a deeper role so they have to cover the man behind the striker too, Eriksen covers the number 10 so they have to cover his wide role too. Rather than just replacing a CB with Wimmer, or Kane with Jansen (even though he's shit) or Dembele with Winks or Son with Sissoko they move players around, breaking up partnerships and ruining the continuity of player performing well in certain roles.
