DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 For me, one of the highlights of the season, was Kasper's fine form. He appeared to have far more confidence than I have seen from him in previous seasons. He seemed to be in total command within the box. What do you think?
Gerard Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Massively improved. Arguably the best GK in the league this season.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Agree. I've always thought he's under appreciated until recently, but no more - he's firmly established as one of the best keepers in the Prem
AKCJ Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I can't think of a single mistake. Martial's goal the other week is about as close as I can think and that was still smashed at him from 6 yards.
Bayfox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Still think he could be more commanding. But I think between him, huth, Morgan and the gaffer they seem to have found a way to communicate and make sure they know what each other is doing. Which has left him until exposed in the air as the season has worn on. His kicking at times is worldly or at others likely to kill fans. That said this year the only keepers I'd even consider swapping him for are de gea and loris no one else comes close this season and I include the golden glove winner in that. Shame kasper couldn't nick that as well.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Ever since he came back from injury he's been on another level
Ric Flair Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 The past two seasons he's looked a little sloppy in the first half of the season by his standards but then the 2nd half of the season he's been sensational. This season especially since the turn of the year he has been very, very good. He still has a few limitations but for us he is indispensable. Love him.
TheMightySystem Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Fully taken command of his box, punching away crosses and corners which he would never have done last season, deserved to share the golden glove, shame for the penalty. Also saw a picture on twitter that had us as third for least goals conceded, quite amazing considering our start to the season and shows how good we have been in the second half defensively.
Bryn Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 He is probably the most influential person in the dressing room as well. Him, Morgan and King are the leaders.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 He's been excellent all season. Over the course of the season he's made some outstanding stops, Man City (H) was a prime example. He made a particular stop in the game where he just got his fingertips to it saving it from going in. Great shot stopper and him/defence are a great defensive unit - well organised. Love his passion with the fans, he has a real connection with the supporters and the club in general.
TheSomersetFox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I hope he's our keeper until he retires tbh. no words to describe how vital i believe he is for us.
RedSoxUK Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Compared to last season where a majority including me would have preffered Hamer in the net for longer, yeah absolutely. In terms of our most improved player over last year, I think Kasper just about pips the likes of Drinky, Simpson and Morgan.
Craig Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I've been critical of him in the past, but he seems to have really improved on his weaknesses this season. Wouldn't swap him.
norwichfox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 A great asset for the team, worrying thing is there's no cover that comes even close to Kaspers level. I think he was a major factor in keeping us in the Premier league last season after his return from injury. I agree with goober it would be nice to have him around 'till he retires from playing and would hopefully stay with us as a goalkeeping coach beyond that.
EGBFitness Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Solid season! Easily one of his best in a city shirt / potentially his whole career to date. I was a little critical at times about his decision making last year but he has definitely improved all round. Felt he was a little too complacent too and needed the competition from a stronger back up GK. Still feel we need someone with such a big season ahead but no doubt Kasper is the main man between the sticks. He has always been a great shot stopper / distribution but I think with how much time has been spent on tightening up at the back it has massively improved Kasper too. Everyone at the back seem so confident & trusted with each other that it has improved all their abilities. Kasper is also a massive character in the dressing room too, I know he attends a lot of meetings too with Wes so is clearly respected throughout the squad / club too. Seems to be enjoying his football and loves the club.
David Hankey Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I have no major problem with Kasper's performances this season. He has improved in so many ways. The only issue I have is his wayward distribution of the ball sometimes. He needs to get into a habit of rolling or kicking it out to the back four so we keep possession. Remember, if we have the ball the opposition can't score.
Vicki Vixen Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Compared to last season where a majority including me would have preffered Hamer in the net for longer, yeah absolutely. In terms of our most improved player over last year, I think Kasper just about pips the likes of Drinky, Simpson and Morgan. People calling for Hamer last season were a vocal minority. Kasper's influence, leadership and organisation of his defence has always been on another level to any GK I have seen at this club since I started going in the early 90s. A Goalkeeper's role in a successful side goes way beyond stopping shots: Buffon, Cech, Peter Schmeichel etc. This is why Kasper has always been number 1, regardless of his form.

Izzy Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 He is probably the most influential person in the dressing room as well. Him, Morgan and King are the leaders. I'd maybe even also add Huth and Fuchs to that list of leaders. And possibly Drinky and Vardy too. We've got leaders everywhere!
Fox92 Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I have been critical of him during his time here but this season he has played brilliant like the rest of the squad. Big improvements. The only downfall of his game is his kicking because it is shocking.
johnny the fox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I always rated kasper...more experience and more confidence has made him one of the top keepers on the planet..
Charl91 Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 I remember being slightly critical of him a few seasons back. This season, he has been immense. Top 3 keepers in the league easily, and I wouldn't trade him for any other keeper.
johnny the fox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 http://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/blackpool/transfer-talk/news/report-blackpool-stopper-available-for-gbp1_272992.html have to say we need to get this bloke in as back up.....bargain!
TJB-fox Posted 18 May 2016 Posted 18 May 2016 Possession football? I think you're watching the wrong team pal.He doesn't mean it like that I to be fair I completely agree. So many times Kasper rushes kicks and just invites pressure. When were 2 up for example it's fine but when we're 1-0 up and clinging onto a result we do tend to welcome unwanted pressure on ourselves! Yes Kasper gives us great distribution by creating opportunities but does need to be done at the right time
