Dames Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 What do you expect him to say? Yes he's definitely making changes. You do know the idea is to keep the opposition guessing. Why do you think they have all the drones and security outside there training Base. The line up got leaked for the first game but it won't be happening again. We can play a few different formations and no one can guess what the team will be, that is the best thing about England right now. You used to know the team. Seaman Nev Ferdinand Terry Cole Beckham Lampard Gerrard Joe Cole? Owen Heskey Yeah but on the flipside you've got players playing absolutely poorly and they know they'll just keep getting chances. Somethings gotta give and its got to be Hodgson.
SheppyFox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 I think Slovakia will attack us, ironically resulting in us scoring more 3-0 England.
Jimothy Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Henry talking out his arse on BBC one just now. Saying he'd start Kane because you're going to need him to find form if you want to win the tournament. Also saying Hodgson shouldn't leave him out because Kane will feel he's no longer got a role to play, and if he does drop him he needs to chat to him to explain why. What a load of bullshit. You need anyone to hit form to win it. If it's Kane, Vardy, Sturridge, Rashford, or Gary bloody Cahill popping up each game with the goals then that's what you need. The name on the scoresheet is irrelevant. And why does Kane need to play, even when he's off form to stop him being left out. It's a harsh sport, and it's a short tournament, we can't give players time to play into form.
wardyfox86 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Can anyone put together 11 English players with name beginning with R just for Woy. Obviously wooney and Washford up front. Wuddy Wose Wichards Wosenior Woutledge Wichardson Wodwell Wedmond Wodwiguez Washford Wooney That's difficult... Great team
The Horse's Mouth Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 the type of verbal diarrhoea that comes out of Henry's mouth makes me hope that he sticks to his word on wanting to be a manager.
Harry96 Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Vardy and Sturridge to Start together according to tomorrow's papers. Rooney alli kane rose walker and sterling to be dropped apparently
the_tank Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 England and wales to both lose. Wales bottom of group...unless andy king starts
apple987 Posted 19 June 2016 Author Posted 19 June 2016 It's amazing how the team gets leaked so often. I remember listening to Danny Murphy on talksport and he said it happened all the time at club level too. He said they knew the oppositions team more times than not a few days before the game. And it all comes from chatting to players who are at the other club, apparently it's not seen as a big deal for them.
Vlad the Fox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Its easy enough to pick opposition teams though, as unless the manager throws a real curve ball teams know how managers like to set up and play and anyone with a knowledge of the team can work out who will play.
apple987 Posted 19 June 2016 Author Posted 19 June 2016 “There is no such thing as a closed dressing room where a secret will remain inside it,” he added. “I don’t say that because players are always negative and trying to cause problems, I say that because human nature is to talk about things. “Players find out the team usually a day before or the morning of the game and they have to tell family and friends so they can sort out tickets for the match and before you know it you could tell a brother, an agent, a friend, whoever it might be, and things just get out. It’s not always because of a negative intention. “Of course there are times when players do do it for that reason because they’re angry or frustrated at not playing, or they have a grievance with the manager, but there’s no such thing as a closed dressing room. Things will always get out. Training ground bust-ups are the same. “The other thing people forget is you always look at the players [in these instances], but there is also a huge staff at every club these days – coaching staff, medical staff, even people like kit men, security guys, they see things, you know, so it doesn’t always have to be the players. That was from Danny Murphy. Wonder who it is who keeps leaking the team.
GaelicFox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 Vardy and Sturridge to Start together according to tomorrow's papers. Rooney alli kane rose walker and sterling to be dropped apparently Wow ...has Woy been abducted by aliens ??
apple987 Posted 19 June 2016 Author Posted 19 June 2016 It says Rooney rose and walker are being rested not dropped
ScouseFox Posted 19 June 2016 Posted 19 June 2016 madness to drop rooney now. he's playing well, he's fit and he's still adapting to a "new" position. let him form links with vardy's runs etc for when it matters. this team will learn nothing about each other if half of them are benched.
Munshi Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Exactly, no need to make 6 changes. Wilshere for Alli (looking quite tired so far which might have something to do with Spurs playing over 50 games or something) Vardy for Kane (no brainer) Sturridge for Sterling. (no brainer) That's what I'd have gone for, this is a big game for our progress in the competition and Slovakia won't be as simple as some are making out. Win and we get the likes of Albania/Northern Ireland. Lose and we could potentially end up with Spain or Germany

Agreed- not only has Rooney finally turned up to a tournament this is the best football I've seen from him in maybe 4-5 years.
CosbehFox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Even more daft when you consider that win the group, the next game is Saturday. It's a decent rest period in an international competition.
foxfanazer Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Oh great so Vardy gets chucked in with the second string players
apple987 Posted 20 June 2016 Author Posted 20 June 2016 Oh great so Vardy gets chucked in with the second string players Wow you can't please some people
foxfanazer Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 Wow you can't please some peopleShut up you muppet
apple987 Posted 20 June 2016 Author Posted 20 June 2016 Shut up you muppet If Vardy doesn't perform and kane comes on and gets the winner, I look forward to people on here saying it was 'set up'. Woy hung vardy out to dry to get his golden boy kane back in the side. Zzzzzzzz
shailen Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I don't understand why Hodgson would drop so many players. Sturridge and Vardy in for Kane and Sterling is a good move, and Wilshere in for Ali to give the boy a rest. But it could come back to bite us if we drop anyone else since we could end up finishing third and having a difficult last 16 tie. Start with our strongest 11 and make subs at around 60 mins if things are going well.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I think Rooney will get a rest, he's looked pretty good in that midfield role but playing it every 5 days or so will begin to catch up with him at his age. I could just about stomach Wilshere or at worst Milner in there this evening, Rooney back for the knockouts.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 changing most the front 4 would be fine. but even an already qualified, almost certain of top spot france didn't change any of their back 5 last night cos you need to form partnerships and get a feel for the team etc. changes for changes sake is daft. and all the more so when technically we're not even through yet let alone through as group winners.
kingcarr21 Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I agree its a huge gamble but if players need a rest now is the time to do it. We win the group we possibly play Albania or NI. We come second we play possibly Iceland. Come 3rd its possibly Germany or Spain. If we avoid defeat that's top 2 guaranteed. If we finish runner up its not a disaster considering we will play on the Monday as opposed to the Saturday if we win the group. Our squad of players should be able to get the job done against Slovakia. I'm not too worried about making some changes offensively but changes at the back is a bit concerning. Not that Clyne and Bertrand are bad players but chopping and changing the defence could spell trouble. I am confident we can get the victory if we have Vardy on the pitch. I wouldn't actually mind seeing Kane on the pitch as long as he has a partner with him or play the Spurs formation. I don't think he is tired just that the system didn't play to his strengths. Would rather see Vardy and Sturridge on the pitch though.
