Some of his passing today was sublime. Only bettered by Rooney's mazy runs, taking the total of players he has skinned in the last 10 years to a whopping zero.
Merging Cultures Posted 20 June 2016 Posted 20 June 2016 I still think Vardy looks inhibited with England, he doesn't seem as confident and outgoing on the pitch as he does with us. There was a few times where he was on the last man and I was expecting him to move and someone to knock it over the top. He didn't seem to be looking for it or, more likely, expecting it though. I think we lacked that killer edge that teams like France have had to squeeze past teams like Albania and Romania. We'll probably look more impressive when we play teams that feel like leaving their third of the pitch. 100%.And Roy needs to either play to players strengths, or not take them. And have a plan b. We don't have one.

Expectations are low because people have seen the squad selection, friendlies and qualifiers and know they should expect shambolic underachievement.

One decent run but mostly he was terrible, slowed the game down all the time, mainly passed it to them or simply kicked it our of play. We moved the ball too slowly, had virtually no width in the second half, our passing was sloppy and the movement off the ball too infrequent and too slow. NO variety and very little quality. Slovakia were so negative. A typical example of all that is so dull about international football. Players on both sides attempting to pass it to their own side but simply kicking it out of play. At least England have got lucky in their next opponents, which will be the runner up in by far the worst group.

Not sure they have, This team, these players, barring one or two isn't bad, used in the right way and as I say one or two exceptions/replacements I think they could go far. It's the manager and his style that let's it all down and that is where they underperform. That is why expectations are low. What? We've got 5 points, unbeaten, how is that not deserving to qualify? I don't get how some people before the tournament were saying that we'll be out in the group stage and we will do nothing, now suddenly horrified we didn't win every game...
