Don't think Allardyce would make us particularly entertaining but we'd be more effective than we were under Hodgson. He would at least have us playing to our strengths.

As long as those strengths were booting the ball up in the air.

It's difficult to see a weakness in Klinsmann (other than has he actually won ANYTHING as a manager)?

He's charismatic, entertaining and I imagine he'd have a personality that could motivate.

But managerially, I'm no sure what we'd get in terms of style and tactics.

We know what we'd get with Allardyce. We'd get pretty dour interviews, we'd get a set game plan, based primarily on strength and grinding down the opposition. I doubt he'd get any of the prima donnas giving him shite and he'd probably handle the media pressure ok.

We'd probably get a bit more Defoe and we MAY even get a bit of Clattermole! lol (oh ok, maybe not)

I just don't think I know enough about what Kilnsmann stands for in terms of approach and tactics to be able to be pleased or not if we appointed him.

What I'd give for a set game plan though...

Not sure why you picked this one Dan? The only 'not dour' bit is about the last second. Throughout the rest of it, he looks like he's just woke up in a daze!

lol

I couldn't embed it properly and was only going to get the last ten seconds, gave up in the end, the last bit's excellent though, I laughed way more than I should at it.

I can see maybe why people would be interested in Allardyce, most clubs he's been at has been success. If given the task of keeping a club up and achieveing a midtable finish then Allardyce is your man. Tactics he's well orgainised but I just feel with players we've got who do like to attack would not be suited to Allardyce is style of play. The England job I just feel is one job too big for him.

I think he would want to choose different players, more hardworking square pegs for square holes, and inject that with some of the creative players. unlike hodgson.

Least with Sam there wouldn't be ****ing stupid comments in a press conference like 'i don't know what I'm doing here '

All the bs and nonsense about picking wrong squad and comments like that also wouldn't happen I feel

He has a good vision and attitude, but if you want a tactical coach, he's not your man. He believes that his job is to push the players to be their best, but in the end it is up to them to figure it out during the match. He's doesn't really set up the team going into a game with any particular game plan other than to try really hard. He's also slow in noticing in-game trends or making adjustments with substitutions.

Cheers for the info bud. It's looking ever more likely it's going to be big Sam.

If Sam gets it, he should cherish it.

Being a national boss means that you're respected and trusted to do a good job.

As well as being quite a step-up as being the Sunderland boss - although I thought he was going to build a decent team there.

I don't mind Big Sam really. Probably best of a bad bunch right now and can't do any worse than that cvnt Hodgson. I've kinda gone past caring but you never know, he could turn us into world beaters again

I feel like there's a lot of sense in appointing Allardyce but I'm equally as scared that I'll be sat here in two years thinking I'm as guilty as anyone of learning nothing.

He's a step up from Hodgson. That is without a doubt in my eyes. A proper game-plan seems to be going further and further in football these days and he's no mug tactically.

Bad for Sunderland, but probably get a big compensation fee out of it.

Possibly Poyet for them? Not many managers out of work that are standouts imo.

Who isn't though?

So was Capello and Sven but they did no good either.

Allardyce has one tactic at every club so it remains to be seen whether he has a game plan for the group of players England have.

I think he's a dinosaur personally.
