Diego Simeone. Phil Neville once said about the man,“It really is win at all costs for him and I think Simeone would shoot his grandma to win a football match." That's the spirit!

Can someone explain the love for sam allardyce  He plays the most boring football imaginable, part of me believes its down to this brexit nonsense, lets be even more backward looking, more insular so sam allardyce fits the bill...paranoia? lol    Just ask west ham fans about him..  I'd rather have the current west ham manager forward thinking who transformed west ham.

Said it before on this thread

He has managed big players in the past. Causes no problems. Has a big interest in the sports science and fitness side of the game, which it didnt look like Hodgson did. Allardyce wont gamble on half fit players. He brings a plan and a style of play that is quite effective, albeit not technical. But Hodgson clearly had no plan.

Plus, its obvious he commands a lot of respect from the players at the clubs hes managed. He got the ball rolling at West Ham and their form tailed off because nothing can please the West Ham fans. He had them riding high, but it was obvious he was going to leave.

Of all the English candidates, hes the best by a mile.

Pearson? Clear plan. Can work with big names. Would have worked with many of the current squad in the U21 set up when he was there. Great interest in sports science and player fitness. Why not,?

Would say Redknapp would be popular one.

Decent track record, well-respected (in football, not by the tax man) and good when under pressure by the media.

No chance! Harry only has done well at clubs when he has been able to wheel and deal and he cant do that at England, He has been out of the game for too long now to.

Not really bothered who it is as they will still be a yes man who will be expected to pick players from the 'big' clubs on reputation. My love for the England team really is at an all time low.

Before last season I was one of those who would rather see England win the World Cup than Leicester win the prem. Never thinking we could win it.

Now we have achieved the impossible I would love to meet the past me and slap him. How stupid was I?

None of the managers in the running for the England managers job fill me with excitement. We are in the shit now

I afraid that's how I've gotten. I was always torn between saying 'I don't care about the England team', when actually I did care.

This tournament has finished me off. Having watched the ridiculous decisions our ex manager made, his barmy systems and the general wallyness of our players (and them all being paid a kings bloody ransom to churn out stuff you could watch on a Sunday morning), my concern for the plight of the national team has gone. They can appoint Mickey Mouse now as the next manager. I wouldn't give a shite. The whole FA/National Manager thing just stinks.

I've not been that passionate about it for years but I thought... how ridiculous is that? I'm absolutely football mad yet can't get passionate about my own national team, something's not right there. I just want a manager who injects some life into it all again, a manager who doesn't make you think "international weekend, 'sake".

I don't think an exciting manager will change the fact that nobody can be bothered about a friendly vs Estonia.

Powell would probably have a good shout at getting it as well, with him playing a big part within the FA. Not sure i would want him as he would be another yes man, but he would tick the FA's boxes for sure.

Two things of note about Big Sam - 1) his ability to fit the best part of two packs of chewing gum in his gob and 2) those suit trousers he wears are beyond words. Absolutely disgraceful.

Don't think Allardyce would make us particularly entertaining but we'd be more effective than we were under Hodgson. He would at least have us playing to our strengths.
