dbtcity Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Signing a 30 year old CB would be a strange move with the age of our current cbs
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Currently, in terms of defensive options, we've got Moore(?), Benalouane, Wasilewski, Hernandez, Morgan, Huth, Fuchs, Chilwell, De Laet.As we know, it is unknown who is moving on this summer, so perhaps the club are looking at this Iceland CB as an alternative option depending on who stays and moves. He was good at CB for Iceland.

"Lad's, that Sigurdsson chap who played for Iceland did OK Monday night didn't he?!""Yeah decent, he could probably do a job in the prem""Shall we link him to someone for a laugh?""Yeah sounds good, I've got nothing else to do since I wore out my keyboard writing about Leicester and how Jamie Vardy played from Stocksbridge 5 years ago.""Ok let's chuck a couple of clubs in there, not the traditional big boys but teams that had good seasons""Ummm, Spurs and Leicester?""Yeah sounds good get it done."Fin.
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 agreed it seems clear were after another cb but surely with our ageing backline a youngster we can develop would be a better shout Yeah, absolutely. Any younger defensive player coming here will be beneficial in their career development, due to learning off the likes of Wes, Huth and Wasyl. I noticed it when both Michael Keane and Liam Moore played regularly for us at CB, they looked more assured being next to Morgan. They both learnt from Wes, particularly Moore who looked excellent at times next to Wes.
CosbehFox Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Krasnodar have had a half decent season. So I would find no surprise that Spurs and Leicester with the analysts working away may have already spotted him
AKCJ Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 To be fair he was seriously ****ing good against us. If he was early 20's/late teens I'd defo want him but I get the feeling that that was the game of his life.
NewquayFox Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 A 30 year old centre half seems a bit old to me...... Oh hold on, didn't we just win the Premier League by 10 clear points with 3 of them.... Up the City.....

Have I missed Benny leaving or something
Guest CityFan 06 Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Have I missed Benny leaving or something Apologies! Benalouane of course - a player who I'd actually keep, because I've been fairly impressed with him. He was particularly impressive in that 2-1 (h) cup win v West Ham. Edited

Bluearmyfox28 Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 He did look ace I generally wouldn't mind this.
kingfox Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Get him in so we can see him dominate Harry Kane again.
mozartfox Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Benny can eat out on that West Ham performance the number of times it is mentioned.
SecretPro Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Benny can eat out on that West Ham performance the number of times it is mentioned. Well there wasn't many other performances to mention. Having said that, he played well in the other cup ties too.
TJB-fox Posted 29 June 2016 Posted 29 June 2016 Benny can eat out on that West Ham performance the number of times it is mentioned. In fairness I was impressed with every time he played (bar those couple of odd fouls he made when he came on for the last 2 mins at the start of the season a few times)
