Aus Fox Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Thought We looked alright for only our second run out of the season, first for a few players. Obviously some didn't hire have their eye in yet, but you could see against a team which has already played competitive games we looked comfortable for most of the game. Thought Chilwell was outstanding and will certainly play first team football this season. you could see what Musa will offer in a couple of short bursts, as he gets sharper I'm excited to see him and Vardy together. Always nice to get a result, but not the main thing in games like this- looking forward to PSG now.

FECK sake that's disgusting he is disabled and has intellectual difficulties , Celtic have a proud tradition of including disabled fans in club events and your making fun ? Plainly he has issues ! Guest Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Albrighton needs more love. He was incredible in the first half. He should be in Sam's team this year.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Obvious I guess but true nonetheless...Mahrez goal was world class. We gotta keep him.

I unfortunately had to buy a ticket in the Celtic end because they wouldn't let us sell tickets on the gate or sell e-tickets (which they do for the home end). So I was in the home end behind the goal in between our fans and their standing section. We were well and truly outsung from start to finish to the point our fans seemed to stop trying all together (and that is something I cannot remember happening since the bad old champo days) Also every Celtic fan I met was friendly but that might just be luck! I'm afraid in afraid our fans were very poor yesterday. Better be on it for wembley. Usually have a decent atmosphere away

C-man Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Celtic fans seem to rate us as the worst they've ever seen. Can't judge too much on a friendly but I feel our away support has been on the slide since we got promoted.
ian_marshall Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Are people really that bothered about our vocal support at a pre season friendly?!? Who cares, I can't ever recall us being particularly loud for this type of game even when we've played far bigger teams than Celtic. Why would our fans many of which will have gone to enjoy the experience be up for this when it's essentially a glorified training match. Celtic fans can say what they want, it'll be a very different scenario if they make it to the Champions League group stages and get drawn against us.

I'd worry more that they couldn't find their own team mates with a pass despite being 8 games into their pre-season.

Looking back at yesterday's game, their own fanbase was often mute, as well. But yeah, it's a friendly between a Scottish and an English side, so by no means an indicator as to how good or vocal our support really is or whether it is on the decline. Last season proved otherwise.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 I've written something brief on the Mahrez goal - Five seconds at Celtic: a Riyad Mahrez masterclass https://theunbelievablesblog.wordpress.com/2016/07/24/five-seconds-at-celtic-a-riyad-mahrez-masterclass/

We've always taken numbers everywhere as we know, but in the Championship to me, it just seemed we were more vocal and more standing. Granted I've been to more in the Championship than the current PL. More of an obversatiobal than criticism of course...
Dynamogoon Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 that sort of journey for a friendly wasn't ever gonna attract a big following or atmosphere. Most are waiting for the champions league for their big away trips
Percy Thrower Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 If true about them waiving Russian flags in the ground yesterday, then they are absolute scum no matter how GaelicFox etc want to dress it up! Especially given that one of our own fans is still in a very bad way in LRI after being set upon by Russians in Marseille.

That old bloke with the grey hair, retro shirt and prison tats was funny though, kept turning around and yelling at us all to sing, oddly he didn't try starting any songs himself. Too much Special Brew maybe?

ScouseFox Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 good effort to be crying about atmosphere in a pre season friendly. as if anyone's arsed.

Celtic fans were great...but they always are. People moaning that we were poor because it was a friendly? It was a friendly for the celtic fans too. We were probably the worst away fans they've encountered because scottish fans are often well organised and loud especially when they visit celtic park. Sometimes you just have to admit our fans were shite.

Don't know if that's true or not but it wouldn't surprise me if they did have Russian flags. The filthy bastards hate anything English or British, when Falklands war burns victim Simon Weston was a guest of our club at an old firm match the mhanks had Argintina flags and chanted 'ARGINTINA ARGINTINA'. They're also IRA loving tottie hocking weirdos, Im sure your fans would have heard a few versions of ' boys of the old brigade ' and other Irish republican/IRA songs yesterday from the plastic wannabe paddys. ***** hold up banners about blood stained poppy's and disrupt any minutes silence in remembrance. They are scum mate no doubt about that. I could go on all day about the filthy actions of their fans, like smashing a bottle into a 10 year old Rangers fans face knocking out teeth or hitting 3 year old man city supporter on the head with a brick , mocking the victims of the Ibrox disaster ect ... To save me the trouble I will post this link if anybody can be bothered having a look.... Will be an eye opener for some to the actions of the most vile support in British football,... http://ifyouknowtheirhistory.blogspot.co.uk/
