The Quick Brown Fox Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Hernandez should have done more to block the shot in my opinion. We've been spoilt by Wes and Huth throwing their bodies on the line, and to see Hernandez curl up out the way was a bit shit.
Benji Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 We have to keep Mahrez if we want to push on this season. I think we can just about cope without Kante, but not both.
Noelywhoally Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 As crazy as it seems, the Scottish police had deemed this to be high-risk. God knows why, been a long long time since i seen any trouble at a Celtic game and i reckon you Leicester guys are just enjoying your first jolly as champions. It's actually political due to the SNP's offensive behaviour at football legislation. Don't get me started lol.
filbertway Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Gray laughing at Was stepping up for a pen haha. Pretty gutted that Mahrez was so class then played such a poor pass to Musa for a tap in. Would have won me a 100 boys.
justfoxes Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Just got In Seen the result what a result for the mighty Leicester well done lads !!
ScouseFox Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 as I said at half time, we are just glorious to watch. incredible.

I'm just getting lost in that loop of genius from him....He's got that Zidane/Ginola type magic... Expect Arsenal to up their bid to 60M....Please Riyad snub them all and stay..
Robin JD Popley Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Very happy with our performance today - positive intent and good yard stick for our title defence. Riyad's goal was world class again and his all round contribution was superb. Like the look of Mendy and Hernandez. Zieler played very well too in goal. Musa has bags of pace in reserve too. Nice to win on penalties, good save by Kasper and could have saved one in the initial five. (I know they won't admit it, but I think a few other club's fans may actually be concerned if this is us in 2nd gear).

Guest Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 What I do think we need is an upgrade on the back up striker. I think Musa can play the Okazaki role behind Vardy to a higher standard but we still need the big alternative. Ulloa is good but just not clinical enough. If possible I want a similar player to Ulloa but with a better final shot and if possible a little more speed. Happy to pay a new club record for that. We may still need another central defender but I don't know yet.

I think he was excellent today, considering he played the whole game, made some good tackles and looked better as the game went on. I think if we had 3 in midfield he would be excellent in front of our CBs Yep, spot on assessment there. I'm intrigued by just how good he could be for us, as similarly with Gray. I think he could be an asset for us particularly in the centre of the park, and not only that he will get better as well.
Corky Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Really enjoyed that. The team was fit, motivated and organised and always had a threat going forward, so much energy and enthusiasm even at this stage of pre-season. Even if we'd have lost I'd be encouraged by the way we went about things. Wonderful goal, top class penalties too. Although results aren't the be all and end all of pre-season, to keep winning (or not losing) just keeps the momentum going into the season from last.
Balj Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Very happy with that - we were clearly playing ourselves into the season so second gear all the way. Liked Amartey, Musa and Mendys and Chilwell is going to be England left back in time - what a class footballer and his pen personified his potential. Reasons to be cheerful aplenty. Riyad's goal was special but we must remind ourselves that it was abject defending - I thought he went missing a few games at the end of the season and also during games when he pulled out a couple of gems but over the 90 his contribution was average at best. Would love to keep him but if we lost him for bonkers money and reinvested wisely (and signs to date are all our signings are very good despite Steve Walsh going) I'm confident we will be a good side next season.

That'll be the first thing on his video analysis highlight reel. Thought Hernadez did well, but I was most impressed with Chilwell.
fuchsntf Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Taking on all those player changes, it was a damn good game. Not trying to be clever, but the Leicester squad this evening looked like a team, Integration, link play, for the 1st biggish game, movement was excellent. Musa had some serious pace when he came on. Mendy looks like another shrude buy. Again Gray shown, he will take some moving, when he gets a few games behind him. But that Albrighton is going to be a key figure again. Chils gives us that great potential from within.Without going out, needing to look for it. Ranieri's system is showing through.I am also sure Mahrez will stay. It looks like, we have a promising future, there can only be optimism in the air.
kingfox Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 We looked good until Mahrez came off, we were well organised after he came off but we had no attacking intent. Thought the centre of midfield was our biggest problem, wasn't impressed with Mendy first half, Drinkwater had a shocker in the second. We really need an enforcer in there, someone who can tackle, Mendy, Drinkwater & Amartey showed a lack of strength at times. Mahrez frustrating one minute, world class the next. Chilwell had a cracking game, second best player behind Mahrez for me today, Albrighton looked good in front of Chilwell as well. Ulloa is good enough as a Plan B. Okazaki was typical Okazaki, good link up play at times, then next minute gives the ball away & falls over. Musa made some cracking runs against Oxford, Ambrose had him in his pocket today unfortunately. Need another goalscorer though, a better version of Okazaki.
Beliall Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Great game for a friendly. thought schmiechel was a bit shit for their goal. Mahrez was absolute quality, Musa is so rapid, ran past players like they weren't moving. In fact everyone played well. Were we 4-3-3 to start?
Vlad the Fox Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Best I've seen of him today, he had composure, aggression and was direct and assertive when needed.
Max Power Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Never sure how much to draw from these pre season games but thought Chilwell looked the business. Amartey more comfortable in midfield although he was solid at right back first half.

Some shots are too good and you have to just hold your hands up.

Happy to be told that. This is the only place i get to talk about footy. he just seemed a little slow to react / poorly positioned
