Fair enough then . As an aside, it was good to see him gather the players to go and see the travelling fans at the end of the match
Bluetintedspecs Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Only our 2nd Pre Season game, very impressive indeed.
GingerrrFox Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 The most interesting thing for me in that game was watching Mendy and Chilwell. Mendy is clearly a good player but I don't think we will be able to play 442 at the highest level without Kante. Mendy looks like he would excel with 1 more player in there who is attack minded alongside Drinky and himself. Also it says a lot that when Fuchs came on he was put at left mid and not at left back. Chilly is the real deal.
Wortho Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 I thought we looked pretty fair. Only the 2nd game, give them a chance.

I wouldn't make any rash judgements or sweeping statements just yet!
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Impressed with Chilwell. For such a young lad he has a lot of composure and intelligence. Will be a good option in future and he'll command a decent sum if he disappears.
Dawko Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Are we the Champions of the Champions or could we be the Champions of the Champions of the Champions after the next game and if we win that game would we be the Champions of the Champions of the Champions of the Champions if we beat Barcelona ? Pardon
Vacamion Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Well that was interesting... My Scottish team is Partick Thistle and Mrs Vac is a Current Bun, so neither of us were comfortable being in amongst Celtic fans. It was a weird and unpleasant sitting stoney faced whilst they all Poznaned around us. From what I saw, Mahrez was different gravy. Utterly sublime. He got great applause from all round the ground when he went off. The new lads look like they just need to get used to how we play. Drinky worked hard. Leo and then Shinji both worked hard at that pestering thing that Vardy does so well. Chilwell looked good, like he will push Fuchs for a place this season. I got a good view of the equaliser, and I'm not sure Kaspar can be blamed, it was a good shot. I'm afraid I could hardly hear anything from the City fans most of the game. We appear to have emerged from the East End of Glasgow without communicable diseases, no half and half scarves were purchased, and we won the penos, so all in all, to quote Ice Cube, today was a good day.

Great Boos Up Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Chilwell had pace, got caught roaming forward but was so fast getting back behind the ball.
Matt Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 They look delighted! Nah good game for a friendly, think we edged it, should have won in the 90, but I was very impressed.
brucey Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 Wes looks like one of those sports store mannequins in that picture
Vlad the Fox Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 So is this like boxing? We're Scottish champions as well now

Ross-Kemp Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 All sorts of aggro according to many that are up there. Not surprised in the slightest

richardsfoxes Posted 23 July 2016 Posted 23 July 2016 I cant be the only one to think a attacking midfielder would make us look so much better going forward instead of a second striker.

His runs occupy one or two defenders at a time when we break, giving Vardy & Mahrez more space.

True but it would allow us to play through the middle with mendy's and drinkwaters passing and could have Mahrez and musa further up.

IainHumewasalright Posted 24 July 2016 Posted 24 July 2016 Hey all, Just got back from the game and I have to say that I thought that was the best atmosphere I have seen from any club, home or away. I unfortunately had to buy a ticket in the Celtic end because they wouldn't let us sell tickets on the gate or sell e-tickets (which they do for the home end). So I was in the home end behind the goal in between our fans and their standing section. We were well and truly outsung from start to finish to the point our fans seemed to stop trying all together (and that is something I cannot remember happening since the bad old champo days) Also every Celtic fan I met was friendly but that might just be luck!
