Grewks take a large dose of MDMA and then watch extended highlights of our games against Liverpool at home and Man City away. We were absolutely ruthless. The pace was incredible. That is what we're capable of when we are fully firing. As of last weekend we were operating at about 30-40% output and fitness. This will be improved and quickly. Life isn't this bad mate.

Liverpool and Man City....were they 'Elite' clubs last season? No.

People cannot maintain the 'it was only a friendly....short on fitness....not of first XI' excuse. PSG were in the exact same boat.

People overrate our football league massively. That PSG, largely reserve side, would have won the league last season by more than 10 points.

Bayern, Dortmund, PSG, Real, Atletico, Barca, Juve all have sides with far more depth that any in our country. Remember that Man City bench against us last season? Wasn't it like 4/5 kids who had never played before as well as has beens?

I'm talking about competing at the next level, which should be our next aim. Our stock has never been higher. Finish outside the top 4 next season, we lose Mahrez and we lose the ability to sign 'european level' players.

Man City not an elite side......but were the side that put PSG, an elite club, out the Champions League last season? (and topped their group, ahead of Juve)

You really don't help yourself do you.

They were made a mockery by us in the league last season but Man City put PSG out of Europe last year and Liverpool got to the Europa League Final which although isn't the pinnacle of European football it's still at a high level.

I am struggling to grasp what's up with you.

Nobody is arguing that we're better than PSG. We're clearly not and we've got years worth of catching up to do.

But you argued that they are a faster side than us and that "we overrate our pace" which is so far from the truth that it hurts.

Lets look at potential starting elevens, purely pace wise.

Aurier > Simpson

Silva > Morgan

Luiz > Huth

Kurzawa > Fuchs

Matuidi > Any of our center mids

Although the likes of Verratti and Pastore are probably much more similar to mendy and Drinky. Too close to call.

Then you have Cavani, Lucas and Di Maria.

As a target man, Cavani is quicker than Ulloa. Whilst Lucas and Di Maria are rapid themselves, again it is too close to call between these two and the likes of Vardy and Schlupp, especially Lucas.

We have pace going forward. But no where else. Which the elite sides have.

It's a waste of time trying mate.

I reckon that Mendy will be the next to be written off tonight. I'll even wager that someone will suggest we start James against United.

Definitely will be Mendy.

If you honestly believe our back 4 is quicker than PSG's....Or matuidi is slower than Drinkwater. You clearly don't watch enough non-leicester football.

You may have a point about the lack of pace in our back line but because we choose not to push our full backs up then it's not a problem. The way we play we make it very hard for teams to cut through us and force them to put crosses in which are food and drink to Huth and Morgan. The very best sides will I'm sure find a way to get past that but we don't need pace at the back in the way we play. We most definitely need to replace Kante's engine though otherwise we'll have to go 3 in the middle and that in itself means full backs are encouraged to push up and as Fuchs and Simpson are hardly rapid it might mean we need to eventually bring in some pace there. But why worry about that right now? We are such an efficient and solid unit, I find it hugely disrespectful how dismissive you are of our team.
