norwichfox Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 A comfortable 1-1 draw....still daren't change my predicted scores....but I did risk a haircut, couldn't stand the missus moaning about it any more .
Guest Col city fan Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 I think there's a difference. King is good enough to play in the Premiership. But I wouldn't have him as a starting midfielder in a title winning side. He'd be OK against Hull, probably. But against the better sides...not for me as a starter. We are going into this campaign weaker in the middle than we were last season imo.
whetstonefox Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Hull will probably take the lead tomorrow but still can see us winning by 2 clear goals. That said there is no real pressure on the Hull players as there is zero expectation, which can be dangerous. Derby aside ,has a team ever started so woefully unprepared for a PL season?

Derby didn't prepare badly. Bought a lot of shite but at least it was something.

Some even talk of a pitch invasion, Charltons went well last season, 1 bloke! Wonder if they've got beach balls like they had. Wouldn't it be easier and more fruitful to stop the Hull team taxi.

Anything less than a 2 0 for us would be massively disappointing considering the circumstances.

Yep, this is why I'm concerned, especially with a 2 man midfield I love King, but there's a world of difference between starting Vs a poor Swansea side when we're settled & well clear at the top, compared to starting out on a 38 game season, with a minimum of six extra games in the first half alone
Fox92 Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 I haven't seen enough to suggest we've got enough to replace Kante either. In the Community Shield final, Drinkwater was literally doing the job of two players - trying everything he was.
foxfan92 Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Loving the optimism... Given the way Drinky's going maybe he'll replace Kante. Then all we have to do is replace Drinky.
eddylcfc Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Hope Sir Claudio goes with... Kasper Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Mendy DD Gray Okazaki Vardy 2-1 AWAY win UTF
biggs Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Anyone worried at this point about Hull is as pessimistic as one can be. We may well lose or draw but to actually think anything but a Leicester win right now is astonishing. We are going into this campaign weaker in the middle than we were last season imo.......Well Thank you Captain Obvious but we're not that much weaker with Mendy replacing Kante. Drinkwater imo has picked up his game from what I've seen so far and I'm thinking we'll be just fine.
Monk Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Other than the risk of Hull fans somehow getting the game called off or abandoned with crowd trouble I can't see past us winning this by a large margin. Famous last words.... But seriously for the last 1.5 seasons we have been more than capable of putting 3 goals past weak teams and this lot are weaker than Swansea, Newcastle etc were last season.
UPinCarolina Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 I do expect Shinji to score tomorrow, as well as Vardy to open his account. After that - well, who knows!
Houdini Logic Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 The most important question... should I risk putting Musa in my dream team?
ARM1968 Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Be happy with 0-4. Would like more but early days.
STUHILL Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 I think this is the best team to play first up. They are such a mess. If we score early, their heads will go down and can see a big win. They will no doubt sit back, but we have so much attacking threat, from the bench too, so can see a comfortable win. 3-0
El bastardo Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 if huddlestone plays at centre half tomorrow for hull, i feel a cricket score coming on. they are ill matched at the moment to play against any sort of pace.

Vardy v Huddlestone.. Like. Usain Bolt v Boris Johnson in the 100 metres!
fuchsntf Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Like last season, these games wont be easy. Hull is everybodies favourite to lose tomorrow... We should learn from and remember our own experiences from last season. Hull are far from dead and buried. We have to prove in everygame this season we were and are worthy champions. Expectations as shown all through this forum are various, me I just will sit back and enjoy...no tension, no stress, far too early. Cant wait for the match thread, reading always makes me laugh, trolls, doubters, whiners and the downright nervous...last season totally forgotten..!!.. Every player will be posted as worthless , or not concentrating because of transfer rumours, or not yet up to PL standards, even before the 1st 45 minutes have passed by.... Fearless is our character, fearfull our posters...love you all.. Oh enjoy your last closed season full sleep night, All your fears will he reawakened from 12:30 tomorrow, 10 months of non-respite.
MonmoreStef Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 This isn't my ideal first fixture. Make no mistake, Hull are dire and will struggle to get 20pts this season but tomorrow they will still believe they have a chance. Play them in January when they are tailed off and I'd be happier. This is a no win situation. Win 5-0 and nobody will read anything into it. Somehow struggle and get turned over and Ranieri halves in price in the first to get the sack race betting. Horrid fixture. Champs against a side who'd struggle to finish top 6 In championship this season, probably top 10. Oh for an early goal our way.
STUHILL Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Schmeichel Simpson Hernandez Morgan Fuchs Mahrez Drinkwater Mendy Gray Vardy Musa Would like to see this but will probably be same team that started against Man U apart from Huth.
Master Fox Posted 12 August 2016 Posted 12 August 2016 Is Gray really worth a starting place? I'm not so sure.
