The whole world smiles Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I was in Glasgow earlier in the summer for the friendly against Celtic and the chap next to me started going off on one loudly about how "F**king Sh*t" Leo Ulloa was. Now I know there has been a few posts about the lack of harmony within our fan base recently and ordinarily I'm a laid back peace loving bloke but this nobhead nearly got introduced to the Celtic Park concrete. Then this morning I was reading the Silimani thread in the transfer talk section and noticed a few snide negative remarks about Leo like: 'For a big bloke Ulloa spends a lot of time rolling around the floor and falling over his own legs, definitely isn't that strong for his size'. DILLY DING, DILLY DONG wake up people what the hell is wrong with some of our fans Ulloa is a cult here and should be immortalised as a stone cold legend and Leicester City Icon for his contribution in the last 2 seasons. Leo was a record signing signed by big Nige in the Summer 2014 many fans were skeptical of his price tag but any doubting voices soon disappeared when he scored a bullet header on his debut against Everton, City Fans then thought we had signed the 2nd coming of Sergio Aguero when he scored 5 in his first 5 premier league games, including an equalizer against arsenal and a brace in the rout of Man United. Leo Sadly was not the 2nd coming of Aguero but what he was was a fantastic focal point for our attacks and one of the best headers of the ball in the League and a seriously good striker for a team of our standing back then. Leo's 11 league goals in the 14/15 were a massive factor in keeping us in the division and his goals in the great escape against Swansea and Newcastle showed he had the bottle to do it in the big, tense games. As good as Leo's contribution was in 15/16 it was absolutely smashed out of the park by what he gave last season. It was quite obvious early on that Claudio did not fancy Leo at all he only managed 1 minute of football in the first 4 League games but he didn't sulk he bided his time and worked his nads off when the chances for minutes finally came and helped turn around two losing positions from the bench against Villa and Stoke. Despite failing to break into the first team Leo kept his head down and carried on making a difference from the bench unsettling teams late on with his work rate and ariel presence and eventual got a place in the starting 11 at the expense of Okazaki. Scoring in his 2nd start against newcastle. Leo continued to find opportunities to start games limited but no one brought into what we were trying to do last year more than him with his hard work and positive outlook he was a true team player. This was summed up by his injury time goal against Norwich when he came on for the last 12 minutes against a dogged side fighting for their lives, still gives me goosebumps thinking about it. Bare in mind we had just lost to Arsenal and a nil nil draw here would have seriously hurt us But his greatest moment ever in Leicester shirt was still to come 2-1 down to west ham, 95th minute with 10 men on the pitch, the club a few games away from immortality, Spurs breathing down our necks. One of the most pressurized penalty kicks in the history of the sport. Step forward the man with the biggest set of B*llocks in the king power, Step forward Leo. Look at the passion and ecstasy on his face as he dispatched it how can any true Leicester fan describe him as '****ing shit' after that? Leo's 6 goals last season was a seriously good return considering he only started 6 games and he contributed as much as any other player and gave us the greatest moment in our history, the least we can give him is our total support when he puts on the shirt. I've watched some moronic City fans get on players backs unfairly through the years including in recent years Jamie Vardy and Danny Drinkwater but over my dead body will I sit by silently and watch it happen to Leo. His Name is Leonardo.....
Fox92 Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Hero. Dunno where we'd be without his goals in 14/15.

Aus Fox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 To be fair, he cost a ****ing fortune, but I suppose as long as he scores goals then that's alright with me.

Voll Blau Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Remember overhearing some bellpiece after the Bournemouth draw at home say he'd never come back if Ulloa pulled on a Leicester shirt again. Hope he stuck to his word.
Vlad the Fox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 You just know that these were the same people screaming that beckford should be playing every week.
ARTY_FOX Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Guys a legend. I love him. Didn't score the header on his debut it bobbled about and hit it on the bounce didn't he? A very well controlled shot as it was bouncing up? Tbf wouldn't be the first time I've made up how a goal was scored so I could be wrong.
AKCJ Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 The blokes a complete legend. The stones he must have needed to put the West Ham pen away must be of gargantuan proportions. However, I think he can be upgraded. But I'd personally back a decision to name a stand after him or something.

You could be right though mate might have got it mixed up with the arsenal one in the next game.

It seemed to all happen in slow motion

Guest Sharpe's Fox Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 I love Leo. Top player, top man and has a great soul patch. He looks a bit weird as well like no one I've ever seen before, like an alien but in a good way.

Bryn Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Leo "Cojones" Ulloa. Love him, class finisher. A bit immobile but if he wasn't he wouldn't be at Leicester. He's scored some huge goals for us.
Aleksz Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 A lot like Shinji in the sense that the only people that don't appreciate what he does for us are the ones that don't get how we play tactically. And like the original poster noted if it wasn't for his goals in the year we stayed up, none of this would have happened. Love Leo.
Ted Maul Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 His goal against West Ham is my favourite goal from last season, weird considering it was a penalty. I think it’s because of all the emotions flying around that day- ecstasy, anger, despair, more anger, and finally, a bit of relief- but it’s really vivid in my memory. Still felt like we’d lost the game at the time, given everything that had gone against us from a commanding position. But it was a massive moral victory in the face of adversity, and one that I really enjoy looking back on with the hindsight of us now being champions. Leicester legend.
Monk Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 That goal against WH was one of the most emotional for me in all my 25 yrs going to games - honestly, the fury of Vardy being sent off, conceding two late goals, and needing the points so badly. It was an incredible moment - he kept his cool, and to be fair I think most of the rest of the squad would have fluffed that penalty! We would not have won the league last season if it wasn't for him, simple as that, he played a huge part for me. I don't see him reaching the starting 11 any time soon but absolutely love the guy, massive respect for playing an important part of the wider squad and sticking around. Hope we'll be singing his song for a good while yet.
sdb Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 Love the bloke. He's criminally underrated by too many.
LAprice_ Posted 9 August 2016 Posted 9 August 2016 This is one of my favourite threads. What I like about him the most is that his natural traits are not typical with the way we play. He's bigger, stronger and not as quick as the other strikers AND YET he's still here. He'll always be a vital part of the team. It's players like him, Andy King, Marcin Wasilewski and Jeff Schlupp that deserve so much gratitude. None of them start many games but they still play with the same passion and intensity as someone who plays every week. I couldn't name another striker who has his ability and would be willing to drop to the bench for the greater good. People can talk about Slimani and even Troy Deeney but would either of them be content with being 3rd or 4th choice?
