Having a much better season this year, scored some absolute pearlers against the big teams and is starting to get back in the spot light. His deal is up in the summer, I wonder what'll happen.

Probably will be offered peanuts in a new deal, leave to someone with a better academy and we'll get 100k for someone that ends up being a very good player.

Say we were to get relegated, which youth players do people think could make the step-up to the championship when some of the players leave.

We have Muskwe and Ndwuku who must be able to push for some more first team football next year as well as Barnes who I reckon could easily start at championship level as league 1 seems a bit easy for him at the moment as he has scored again today (Don't want to over hype him though as I haven't watched any MK Dons games, just going off there twitter page).

Johnson is another who seems to be one to look out for, plays rb but juding by the defense in the U23 not quite ready yet, however he is only 18 and has alot of room for development.

Not sure about any strikers available as we don't seem to be scoring many although Uche seems to have done alright in the limited time he has had.

Choudhury has Championship experience already and is only 19. Surely got a promising future.

Saw a few burton games and he didn't really stand out to me although I am willing to give him a chance obviously. Think he would be a good option on the bench next year if we are in the championship if he doesn't go back out on loan. May play better in a 4-3-3 sitting just infront of the defense, a bit like Mendy in that he isn't the most mobile like Kante but he can do a job cleaning up and has a decent passing range on him.

Leicester City Development Squad manager Steve Beaglehole says the international break has proven useful for the Under-23s after training alongside Craig Shakespeare’s seniors this month.

The Foxes have not played a competitive fixture since the 2-2 draw at Sunderland on Sunday 12 March and must wait until Monday 10 April before their next Premier League 2 outing when Manchester United visit King Power Stadium (7pm kick-off).

Both sides are locked in a battle to secure their top-flight status at Under-23s level and Beaglehole hopes the experience of training alongside the First-Team will stand his squad in good stead ahead of their final four matches.

With Admiral Muskwe out injured while Darnell Johnson and Layton Ndukwu recover from knocks, Beaglehole may have to use the full depth of his squad ahead of the double-header against United and Liverpool next month.

Beaglehole said: “We’ve picked up a few injuries, not just for Admiral, but to Darnell and Layton too. We had a game in Northern Ireland last week which went very well. The lads had the opportunity to show what they could do.

“It’s been fantastic since Craig and Mike (Stowell) took charge because we’ve been with the First-Team almost every day. The international break meant that the seniors lost a number of players so we’ve joined in with them.

“That has been fantastic for the young players. The break has been good in terms of opportunities to play with the First-Team and also the Club have backed us for a trip to Jersey next week for three days. We’ll be training out there which is a great opportunity.”

Beaglehole, whose side face Liverpool at Holmes Park on Monday 17 April (2pm kick-off), also says planning is well underway for next season: “We’ve looked at two or three different things and taken stock. We’ve had the chance to discuss pre-season and our squad for next season, but we’re also keeping our foot on the accelerator in the league.

“It’s a pity that our last two matches have only returned two points. We deserved a lot more, if we would have come out with six, it wouldn’t have been undeserved. It’s tight down there, even the likes of Manchester United are fighting to stay in the top tier.

“It’s all there to play for. It would be fantastic if we could win the next two home matches which would virtually secure our status - and we could then approach the final two matches with a different approach.”

Heard there's a young lad called Dean Hammond that will help us out

He has been very instrumental in turning things around to be fair to him but appreciate he is not quite in the right age bracket

decent coach / manager in years to come

Anyone know what had happened to Choudhury? Since coming back from Burton he has barely been involved in the U23s and Dean Hammond is preferred instead?

I wondered the same since Hamza seems a very promising prospect. But it turns out he's not out of favour but injured, ever since the start of February against the West Ham u23s:

"Choudhury’s tireless efforts came at a cost after 32 minutes when he pulled up with a hamstring problem and he was replaced by Dylan Watts in the middle."
