Major public buildings in Leicester you have never been in.

Sat in the cathedral gardens today having my lunch and it occurred to me that I have never been inside there during my 50 odd years on this planet.

So, which major public buildings have you never been inside?

I didn't even know Leicester had a cathedral until the burial of Richard III. Went there with my son earlier this year (morning after the Bournemouth game), even though they had a service starting just after we got there and Richard's tomb was out of bounds, they let us in out of the rain and showed us round and let us take photos.

Not been in the prison either....

I was never allowed into the Lightlampers due to me having more than 3 teeth.

I've never been into the big blue building. Hopefully I will get that chance one day, and I can burn it down.

I've been up and down the length of Welford Road, but never been inside either the Tigers stadium or the prison.

The big blue building for me also. It stands out for miles and you can see the colour Windows from a far way too. Yet I don't even know what the building is

I've been in it myself for work purposes but is the prison really classed as a public place?

The only place mentioned on here so far I haven't been in is the Tigers stadium

I seem to remember my dad going on a guided tour of some underground tunnels which were accessed vie the clock tower.

It was a long time ago so I could be mistaken

I've never been in the public toilets at St Margaret's bus station.

That's not my mobile number on the door.

The jail was scary to me back when i was 11 or so. My uncle was locked up for a year or two and we flew over the pond to visit his dumbarse. Perhaps thats why ive always been a model citizen :)

never went to filbert street but that was more because i lived here in canada and when we did come back to England in trips it was always spent seeing family. Sigh. Blame my dad for not taking me.

The nightclubs that were Krystals and the Palais. Christ knows what they're called now

I was going to post the same. Palais was the place to go when I was a teenager yet somehow I never ended up in there.  Shame I can't say the same about Kudos or whatever it was called.

I'm disappointed to admit that I never entered The Lamplighters while it was still open.

I did have an amusing moment walking past a few months ago, with a mate who was visiting Leicester.

I was just pointing it out to him as a place with a reputation as the roughest pub in the city centre, when 2 bouncers emerged holding some bloke by both arms and threw him bodily out onto the pavement. :D

Alternatively, as part of my job, I have been in Welford Road prison and Gartree when both were cat A prisons. I have also been in the holding cell at EMA.

I have been in the mortuary at LRI and the General Hospital.

When I was at Gateway Grammar school (as was) we went into the Leicester Castle, which was the old courthouse in the past.

I have also walked through the tunnel inside the dam at Blackbrook reservoir.

Fenwick's isn't all that great. It has horribly creaky wooden floors and is really cramped inside.

Mary Di Castro church, I've been meaning to go in for years but have just never got around to it.
