Adrien Silva

Diário de Notícias and Zero Zero say that Leicester will pay €35m for the Algerian striker and other €25m for the Portuguese midfielder. But Record and O Jogo are claiming that Adrien’s deal has €5m more in add-ons.

Adrien Silva was is in a difficult situation at the club, since he gave an interview saying he was ready to leave, but then Sporting released an official statement saying he wouldn’t be sold for less than his release clause, which is €45m.

But the outlets who claim the deal say the Sporting board were afraid the player wouldn’t be much motivated if he stayed, and decided to sell him.

With these deals, Sporting have made more than €100m during this transfer window, as João Mário’s move to Inter Milan already gave them €40m.

Only new news there is the bit about the SCP board which is probably conjecture.

On our part, given the way we have managed the new contracts (drip feeding them week by week) to keep us in the news and 'the King power brand' up front re online clicks, I expect we will try and take the leading transfer day headline by keeping this deal as a double to make the headline figure the largest of the day by far. 70 million euros - wow factor!

probably like to to get it out there as a strong rumour early afternoon and confirmed around 7pm.

Even if it only ends up as slimani, would be looking to follow the same timings I reckon.

I'm not saying to drop Mahrez, but how good does this team look?

                        Kasper

Simpson - Morgan - Huth - Fuchs

                       Amartey

        Albrighton - Drinky - Adrien

                  Vardy - Slimani

Adrien said the deal was done between him and Leicester. He never said it was completely done.
Sporting officially said his agents and father are messing with his head and ask comprehension for the player, so we can relax.

Sporting doesn't want to sell because, after already selling Joao Mario and Slimani, it wouldn't be good to the squad to sell anymore.

What it says to other players is that when we sign, we sign. Its not like they cant go, but if we feel the club might lose with that, then they won't.
Adrien's offer it's not seen as a good deal for us. Period. One thing are €25M back in July, other is near the transfer window end.

If he stays, I'm sure everything will be ok. He'll appologise and that's it.
In January or next year I'm sure he's leaving.

If the player says it is done, it is done.  o point dealing with rumour and innuendo about fathers managers etc.  Te only fact we all know is Adrien said his goodbyes.  That is all you need to know everything else is speculation and fans grasping at any info that adds to their views and needs.

I don't want to jinx it but what we thinking boys, sticking to the 4-4-2 or you think he will change it?

I think we'll start to see a different formation tried and tested as we move forward now. Maybe not to replace 442 but just to give us something different. I think Ranieri wants to adapt our play a little I think he realises Kante was a one off so no point trying to replicate it. He keeps on hinting at this anyway.

And here lies the conundrum.....

Drinky is undropable and you'd think Adrien would start so if that's in a midfield four your gonna have outside of them Mahrez or Musa/Albrighton and no traditional defensive midfielder like Mendy or Amartey.....

This is presuming that we play Vardy and Slimani together up top.....

I have seen seen no evidence yet that we are ready or have the intention to go 433....

It seems to me that we're building an alternative team to play a formation Ranieri prefers. He's said numerous times we have to adapt sooner or later but whenever he tries something different (like against Hulll) he reverts back. We'll probably stick with it for a bit longer but can see us having a midfield/attack like this in a 4231 in the not so distant future

Slimani

Musa Silva Mahrez

Mendy Drinkwater

They are all coming from the same sport witness source though so I'm gonna wait it out for a tad longer till we find out if the players can make the TDD Medicals etc!

Swap Albrighton with fuchs and put Mahrez in.

The Sporting fans have changed a lot since this morning on this one, when they were adament he would not be sold unless we met his release clause. Strange that they have all softened on that now.

I am still concerned their President has been awfully quiet. Just waiting to wake up to another of his statements saying SIlva will NOT be sold and Slimani is going to WBA...

Yes, I guess that reality is a pill hard to swallow.  They held out hope that their chairman was going to hold onto Adrien, but it was done the minute he made his public farewell and notice that he would be coming to us, everything else was just lipstick being put on a pig.  He was ours the minute that interview was put in public.  They get that know.

Slimani

Musa Silva Mahrez

Mendy Drinkwater

Raneiri has always played 442 and that is his preferred formation.

The issue he has now is that he has 2 players for each position (and rightly so) but the temptation to start them all at the same time must be bloody tempting!

Vardy Musa

Slimani Okazaki

Drinky Adrien

Albrighton Gray Mahrez Kaputska

Amartey Mendy

Fuchs Chilwell

Simpson Hernandez

Wes .................

Huth Was

No one is undropable when you are playing every midweek

It's not dropping at our new level - it's rotation

I understand that - but much of our success last season was built on consistency..... It's also gonna be tricky to keep Adrien and Drinky happy if only one can start in a crucial CL match.....
