DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 1 September 2016 Posted 1 September 2016 He just never got going here. Good luck to him.
ithuriel Posted 1 September 2016 Posted 1 September 2016 Unfortunately he was never going to force his way past DD or Kante and he just did not work in a midfield three, was nice that he came here considering we were seen as relegation fodder so good luck to him at his new club.

I can remember him playing against Manchester United where the game was slower and he looked good. A player that is "garbage" does not captain a good national side in Switzerland or play over 100 times for a side like Napoli. It didn't work out, that's all, but he's far from "garbage". Yet he can't displace Andy King? Used to be a good player but everything you say about him is in the past. I remember the Napoli fans saying he had lost it as he was joining us and they were right. Big reputation, massive flop!

Guest Col city fan Posted 1 September 2016 Posted 1 September 2016 15 hours ago, MC Prussian said: He was neither expensive nor a flop. For one, he cost Napoli about £15m back in 2011 meaning it was a relatively cheap deal for a Swiss international (and the national side's captain at the time). As for the flop part, he had few chances in the first team and put in some disappointing performances, but I'd call him a "flop" if his contribution to the team was detrimental to the team's success. And as others have stated, his effect on the other players should not be underestimated, in particular in helping to form our other midfielders and giving advice and being a worthwile influence in training with his experience. I've been trying to say all year that your bias for this bloke showed no bounds, and you are STILL at it! He was bought to PLAY, not to produce some mythical back room support for the players who did play. Im sure he did help gee the boys up, but that wasn't why we signed him.

Clearly he didn't turn out to be what we thought or hoped but irrespective no one can dispute his professionalism in how he has handled himself.....some experienced international captains would have completely rocked the boat in his position.....showed great integrity and admire him for his attitude with a good sign off ....good luck to Gokhan
HighPeakFox Posted 1 September 2016 Posted 1 September 2016 Good to see that @Col city fan has stopped getting in point-scoring diatribes. Or.......

Look, having a go at me / making some lazy ad hominem crack for pointing out something that only you appear not to realise isn't any sort of come-back. You just cannot resist making most LCFC related conversations about you.
Fox92 Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Quote Former Leicester City midfielder Gokhan Inler has spoken his about his time at Leicester City, and what he now wants to achieve as a Besiktas player, to the club’s official TV Channel BJK Tv. The 32-year old said: “I’m supporting Besiktas since my childhood. I’ve grown up with watching Amokachi, those were great days. I pushed very hard, tried everything to join Besiktas and eventually I did it. I’m very happy, I thank all to fans, our president and officials at Leicester City for making this transfer happen.” Inler also spoke about Leicester and said: “Last season was a wonderful for the club and the fans. It was really amazing (to win Premier League) Although I couldn’t contribute as much I like to do, it’s still a wonderful feeling. I come to Besiktas as a Premier League champion and this is a great thing. “I also thank Ranieri I couldn’t say bad words about him. He’s right not to play me because of the great combination in midfield. I respected his decision.”
eastendfox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Reckon he made one good appearance for us, as sub at home to Chelsea when he helped close the game out.
Vardinio'sCat Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 Flop is harsh, he just came up against two of the best midfielders in the Prem, in top form. I think reading this helps understand how he responded to the situation. You can see why he captained the Swiss side for so long. “I also thank Ranieri I couldn’t say bad words about him. He’s right not to play me because of the great combination in midfield. I respected his decision.” http://sportwitness.co.uk/really-nice-words-player-talks-leicester-city-troubles-ultimate-exit/
UpTheLeagueFox Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 If you speak to staff around the club, they will tell you what an absolute model professional Inler was, despite barely playing.
NeilLCFC Posted 2 September 2016 Posted 2 September 2016 “I also thank Ranieri I couldn’t say bad words about him. He’s right not to play me because of the great combination in midfield. I respected his decision. true sportsman.
WigstonWanderer Posted 3 September 2016 Posted 3 September 2016 Didn't work out here, but wish him every success for the future
