Hoping Northern Ireland get a home win v Azerbaijan, who have been rejuvenated (dont laugh) under Prosenecksi of former Yugoslavia and Croatia fame.

 

Reckon we'll sneak it 2-1.

Starting to really hate Chris Coleman. Genuinely think we got as far as we did in the euros despite his tactics not because of them.

 

Don't doubt he's good at motivating the players, they want to play for him, but we're so shit tactically.

 

Whoever at Real Madrid tried to reinvent Bale as anything other than a winger needs shooting. He was, when they bought him, probably the best winger in the world. So direct, fast, straight forward, bags of end product. This stupid floaty free role he wants to play now is pointless. It's like watching Riyad there, it's not his natural role and there's far more people to mark him.

 

You want him on the wing, isolating the full back, creating things.

 

At the minute all he's doing is spraying cross field passes - some of which are admittedly brilliant - but they're to Gunter and Taylor, technically limited full backs, what are we expecting them to do with it? They're our main attacking weapon.

 

Robson Kanu gets slower every season. He used to have a bit of pace but I swear all he does now is upper body gym work. He's strong as an oxe but he's not getting behind any centre half that's not an asthmatic pensioner.

 

Would rather Vokes, at least he'd make the Irish salty with another cheeky handball. They love those.

Also, being Welsh and listening to Ray Houghton commentate on this must be what it's like for @Vacamion to listen to Eddie Butler commentate on England Wales games. You know he's straining himself in to almost having a stroke not to say "we" every time he refers to Ireland.

That shouldn't be out of the ordinary since there are players out there playing it who aren't Irish or Welsh.

Yeah but we've got more proper Welsh than they've got proper Irish so we're winning at that.

 

Tbh, I reckon that'd be a really good tie breaker in international sport these days. We won't have draws anymore, if scores are level after the allotted time, the team with the least players actually from their country just lose by forfeit.

 

Algeria'd be ****ed.
