you could say it was Okazaki's pressure that caused it

How can we say he's not the same Vardy as last season were only 4 games in give the guy a chance !!

Mind you too after a bit of a thumping from Arsenal last season didn't we go on a superb run of form ?

we'll be fine they'll find their form and do well !!

ONWARDS AND UPWARDS AND IN CLAUDIO WE TRUST !!

A much bigger issue is Okazaki's lack of goals. You simply can't have a number ten who scores as few as he does. His shooting from distance is comical - I know people will praise his work rate but if we are to progress we really need a "10" who is creative and can chip in with 10 goals or so...

Well evidently you can, remember last season?

Vardy not the same as last season?

2 in 4. (3 in 5 if we include the goal at Wembley)

And had mahrez let him take penalties it may well have been 4 in 4.

And he had chances to add to his tally at anfield.

Yeah he's ****ed.  Should have sold him in the summer.

Remember when Mourinho asked JV if he ever stopped running?

Imho, he lost some fitness in the run up to xmas last year, tho the club didn't make a big fuss about it, for obvious reasons. Since then I think he has rarely looked quite as fit and aggressive as he did during his special run. No real pre-season hasn't helped obvs, but then I don't think the team as a whole looks as fit as last year, so he isn't alone.

Of course CR may well have said don't press all the time. Remember the game where CR told him to recover for a moment and not to keep pressing when he was 'in the red'? I think its likely he has been told to manage his energy better, to be ready when the chances come.

Thing is with JV, the opposing teams are really frightened of him, he is a proven to top PL finisher, and our talisman. Even if he is playing slightly differently to before, it is certainly not because he can't be arsed. That's not JV.

I agree, op on his arm, limited pre-season. Two goals in 4 games on course for 20 goals what's the problem.

Just to be clear. I'm not slagging him off, or suggesting he doesn't deserve his place. I think he is playing ok and getting back into the groove, and whatever limitations we have seen in the first few games are much more to do with midfield issues than anything else.

But I commented about this last year (after Xmas), when it was easy to compare him with Okazaki who would always, always press (for 60/65 mins at least!), and many folks didn't see it then either. Thing is, he is our best forward, and we should protect him this season, in a way we couldn't last year.

It could be a problem if Mahrez doesnt chip in with goals again though. With him having a bad start we are relying on just Vardy and Morgan.

The problem is he seems to be more and more isolated up top on his own. He needs support which he's not getting because Mahrez is off form. Equally on the left where Schlupp used to provide support with forward runs. Were playing too far apart which is why we need a Ball playing Midfielder to link the play up. As I've stated elsewhere I'd give Ulloa a go in that role. He's really very good with the Ball at his feet which makes me thing he could do that job while we get someone else in January.

Talk about overreacting. The fact is he isn't the same player as he once was. His game has changed, he doesn't close down every ball and scare the defence anymore. You might want to look at a tape of vardy against man united when we won 5-3 and then watch a tape of vardy now!

He's doing alright for us I think some are finding something out of nothing, it's only the beginning of the season and we have champions league football also to look forward too and with the addition of Islam Slimani I can only see that as a positive for Jamie Vardy.

Vards and Slimshady on the same team let alone pitch will be a real handful and I can see us and Vards only improve not only in goals but quality in the coming games when these two play along side each other !

Nothing to worry about here at the moment !!

On the contrary - I will never forget last season. I'm not slagging Shinji, I am simply stating that a team is not going to stay at/near the top for long with a number 10 who contributes so few goals and not too many assists. No one can doubt his energy and his commitment. Obviously he contributed to the Vardy goal on Saturday even if technically it's not an assist, but Huth and Morgan are more likely to grab a goal than he is, and judged against the highest standards, that is a luxury we won't be able to afford.

This thread is an absolute joke! Our best ever Striker in LCFC history / after winning the Premier League and people are already writing him off. The team last season played to  his motives on/off the pitch for **** sake. His ambitions and work-rate for the club were unbelievable and was a clear example to the rest of the squad. Give him the respect he deserves.

We wont get a player like Vardy again.
