I'm with Ted. Also, he's not even played a significant number of games yet. Give the guy a chance! He's young at 24 and has lots of potential and people here are writing him off already. 

 

Once he's had a run of five or six games then you can start to make a judgement not after half a game!

 

He'll be the perfect foil for Drinkwater and I think they'll work really very well together.

Exactly... and it's that combative tackling element we've been missing so much this season.

 

The fight and togetherness we had last season just isn't there so far. King and Amartey just don't get stuck in enough. 

Mendy's stats from last season at Nice indicate he will do that.

Mendy, when fit, will slot in just fine.

 

Against Arsenal, before he got injured, he seemed to be growing into the game.  

 

Patience is clearly required with this guy, but as I say, when he's fit, I believe he'll be good for us.
