I'm not sure we've played him once in the formation and role he got recognised for. It's absolutely pointless in picking out individual performances. Not a single player is walking away with any credit this season and that's unbelieveable, even players we know that can perform. So the problems are much bigger and deeper than one new signing not pulling up trees, that's a symptom of a deep lying problem. If we continue to swap players in and out and apportioning blame to new signings we'all end up fecked. We need to find and recognise the cause and sort it out so that we can get the best out of each player. Currently we're not getting the best out of anyone and that's on the managers shoulders. If he just ticks things over and doesn't do anything spectacular then wtf were we doing spending all that money on him? There's a whole league full of that kind of midfielder in The Championship and we would've paid less than £14 million for their services.
Dr The Singh Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 I don't understand what his role is in the team

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 Been anonymous in every game I've seen. Not really criticising but King has taken stick for similar performances

He's a defensive player, don't remember many being spectacular.

foxy boxing Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 He's young and not used to the speed of the premier league.hes coming back from injury into a side that is struggling. Yes he has played poorly but is not the only one and should not be vilified or made a scapegoat for fans to vent their frustrations on. He needs time and needs to build up his confidence

It is really..it's beyond me. Its like we are planning for two years time, whilst completely ignoring now.
jim5000 Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 Seems completely invisible during the matches. Puts in the occasional tackle near our corner flag but otherwise, he hasn't done a thing in his 4 starts in a row.
sm1 Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 He played 45 mins and then got hauled off, when the player that should have been subbed is DD. The last 3 games he's played alongside him, he's looked the better player. If CR is going to play 3 in midfield, he needs to play king, with Mendy and ndidi as the holding midfielders.

CloudFox Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 Did you lot watch a different game than me?? Watching from the stands he was one of the only few players to come out of today's game with any credit. A number of times he won the ball back or held it up well, but then either got crowded out or there was no one out wide on the left for him to pass to (which is his game - long, accurate passes). A number of times I saw him gesticulate towards Gray to come out wide for him, as Gray kept drifting inside at the wrong moment. I'm a huge fan of Drinky, but it was he who played the worst of our midfielders today.

tickler28 Posted 22 January 2017 Author Posted 22 January 2017 Well in conclusion to my post.....looks like we have no hope!!

The only way we can play them both is if we play 4-2-3-1 and drop Drinkwater. Which is what I would do if I was the manager.
woznotwos Posted 22 January 2017 Posted 22 January 2017 IMO neither of the holding midfielders are up to premier speed . Mendy was in the right place many times but couldn't win the ball at all and Ndidi cant track players and is caught ball watching time and time again. Drinky must be pulling his hair out in the middle. Fuchs seemed a shadow of his old self . When we did get the ball forward largely due to Gray he then shot when there were better options available. Vardy made some good runs but didn't receive the ball enough. Okazaki spent most of the time on his arse. Morgan..............................pfft. RANT done..wish I could say I felt better but wifes in for a miserable sunday night im afraid with her moody old man
