Okay... i'm never one to bring up extravagance... but the lads are currently flying to Manchester. I mean that's completely ridiculous isn't it? Surely it takes longer to get them all to east mids on a plane of it and then to a hotel in Manc than it would to get on the club coach! lollol

Utd got the train down to Watford last week for christ sake!

Meh... i'm not complaining but it does seem silly, London... Wales... North East/South West I can completely understand, but Manchester! lol

Manchester to Watford = direct fast train service

Leicester to Manchester = no direct train service

I guess the powers that be are not prepared to allow for the coach to become stuck on the motorway in the event of a traffic issue. cant believe Manchester is too far - from EMA, the A50 to stoke is a dual carriageway and then the M6 to Manchester isn't so far. like you say, they surely cant save much time flying. did they really fly ???

Getting sick of the bastard Schlupp battering. Have we always got have one player we all call a shit ****? I mean when it was Alan Rogers I could half understand it but Schlupp? ****ing leave him alone. Hes an academy  product who tries his balls off and helped us go up and win the league. He scored a screamer v Oxford, played great v Barça and shame he got injured or would have started the season better. How about supporting players who play for the club instead of slagging them off.

but he cannot shoot, if he could what a player we would have.

If I was manger I would have running and shooting non stop in training for a month, and then see what we have got.

If that didn't work, make him play centre half in the reserves and see if he takes to that.

I think we all know what Schlupp can bring to a team and what he can't. I'm also surprised at how much bashing he is getting, although I was critical of his performance on Tuesday. He looked well below the standards required. I think some have taken it a bit far though and seeing the reaction when he was very close to a move to WBA, I'm a bit confused how much hate he is getting on here. Schlupp's greatest asset is his explosive speed and strength, without that, he would barely be a league 2 player. I am going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say he was not 100% fit on Tues. He is still a very useful player to have, as he can cover a number of positions, but I will be curious to see how he performs when he gets his next chance. You wonder whether not getting his move and chance to start each week at WBA will play a part if he continues like he did on Tues!

He has improved since our championship days but not as much as the likes of DD Vardy and others. Whats so annoying with him is his ability to simply kick a football. Surely one of the necessary requirements to be a pro footballer. It's not a difficult skill to master but does require specialist coaching in that area.  If he could manage to improve that area of his game he could be a top player as he has everything else. I hope the Coaches can see his failings as we can and act upon it.

He lacks a footballing brain. Too many times I've seen him wandering around in central midfield not having a clue where he is.

He learnt that by reading the foxforum, thought if these posters can getaway with it so can I.

Just a question..how many forum posters have a footballing brain or even a clue...

Just go back to last seasons posts...I find the terraces more clued in, NOT a nicer group of lads n lasses, to be found

anywhere in football. Terraces wit is what keeps the football stories running, forums one finds  too much negative snidey,

and spitefull  frustrations ....Easy to ply out the crap anon.

To troll or not to troll.....

Witchhunt players, then hide behind the crowing rights of an opinion.  Great feeling innit!!!

Mind you , its only my opinion..

This Schlupp battering from our fans who thought Vardy and Drinkwater should have been sold 3/4 years ago.

This is why we are not in the business of management.

Here's Charlie combined XI line-up in full and his explanation...

charlie-nicholas-man-utd-leicester_37919

GOALKEEPER

David de Gea is just a fantastic goalkeeper. I do like Kasper Schmeichel and Leicester will be desperate for him to be fit, but De Gea is top class.

DEFENCE

At right-back I would have Timothy Fosu-Mensah. I don't know why he's not in the United team. Yes he's got things to learn but he's got pace and power and I thought he would be the sort of player Mourinho would like.

Danny Simpson and Antonio Valencia both have mistakes in them and Mensah has more about him. He reminds me of a young Glen Johnson.

Then at centre-back I'll have one from each side. I've been watching Eric Bailly for two years and I really do think he will become a top defender but he hasn't started that well so I've just gone for Chris Smalling.

Wes Morgan will partner him. He's everything you want from a centre-back. He's a threat from set-pieces as well and once Zlatan Ibrahimovic gets a couple of Morgan hits he'll know he's really in the Premier League.

Christian Fuchs is my choice at left-back. I like Luke Shaw but this lad is so consistent, plus he chipped in with an assist for Leicester's first goal last weekend.

MIDFIELD

I've always said Michael Carrick is underrated. He's simply as efficient as you can get. His team-mates probably appreciate him far more than the fans do and he should be starting on Saturday.

Then I'd definitely have Danny Drinkwater alongside him and Riyad Mahrez also has to be in there despite a slow start to the season.

Paul Pogba is the obvious big omission but I don't think he's got the awareness of protecting his team. I just see him wanting people to look at him and I think he's got a lot to learn from Mourinho.

I actually feel worse about leaving Marc Albrighton out. He does so many good things and was one of the underrated players from Leicester's title-winning campaign.

Strikers

Zlatan Ibrahimovic leads my line because he's got such presence. He's like Eric Cantona. Think what you want of him, and sometimes I don't like his peacock attitude, but you've got to admire him.

I think he'd work perfectly in a combination with Jamie Vardy and Marcus Rashford, who would create a lot of space with the ways they stretch defences.

There's no room for Wayne Rooney. He is usually prominent in any team I pick but he's not playing well right now. He needs to clear his head and work out what he's doing. He's lost the yard of pace and he's always attracted to the ball and ends up in positions you don't want him to be.

They were lucky enough to win it. Leicester will not win the league this year or make the champions league next year. In fact, Leicester will not win any cup this year.

If you think they have a chance of winning the league or the champions league then you are out of your mind.

Lucks got nothing to do with it. They played 38 games like everyone else and came out 10 points better, Braking many records in the process. More importantly they done it without spending hundreds of Millions like United and others. DD and Vardy went on to be selected for England. If Roy wasn't so naive they might not have been disgraced at the Euros.

Don;t go changing the subject by bringing in the Champions League. As for this year it remains to be seen. it's too early.

Yup. The same fans that were insulting Mahrez, DD, Vardy…etc against Liverpool are the same fans that were praising them when Leicester managed to score ONLY 3 GOALS against micky mouse FC Brugge.

Funny old game isn't it. For me, call me blind, but I do not want any of the squad from last year that won the league to go. Schlupp was more than a fringe player in that team, and although he can improve no doubt, he's got the attributes to be a top player and age is on his side.

Schlupp is the absolute pits. I honestly think he's the worst player in the league.

Ouch. Even more ouch that we didn't accept £12m for him.

Can see Schlupp having a blinder if he plays.

He's due one after recent abysmal performances.

He may struggle to make the bench, let alone have enough game time to play a blinder!

I don't know what you're getting at. Why do I constantly see people say we can't criticise players? What have we got a forum for then? I'll happily praise players when they deserve it but I'll also go the other way too. It's not a witchhunt or anything like that, as a supporter I like to reflect upon the team and the players. I'll be at Old Trafford tomorrow, cheering on, but ultimately saying it as it is.... that ok??

Schlupp has all the physical attributes but is thick as ****. I reckon if tested extensively for cognitive ability he would score lower than some of the smarter examples in the animal kingdom like a crow or a macaque.

Well he's not that good a winger and that's his strongest position although to be fair I haven't seen him play in goal.

He has had games in the past where he has been our most dangerous player. Granted, usually from the bench. He has also performed well at LB for us over the years and although his shooting is pretty awful, he has the ability to cause problems in attack. The problem for him now as others have said, is that he hasn't made the step up that Drinky, Vardy and Mahrez have made, and it is becoming more evident, that Schlupp although versatile and on his day, a devastating impact sub, may not be consistently good enough to play regularly in the Premier League, certainly not for us. If Kaputska shows he has as much potential as Gray, then I don't see the need to keep Schlupp any longer. I would say Schlupp has until January to show us all some signs that he can still be a dangerous and more importantly, consistent player for us as a winger and/or back-up LB.

I see Mike Bloody Dean is the ref for this.  That will be a penalty to them then from a corner and an inevitable booking and possible red for Huth.  Oh dear, the omens aren't good.  Turn up aka Bruges we should be ok turn up aka Liverpool and Hull I fear another loss.

Is this an autocorrect gone wrong or am I missing a word that people use? haha

I can already picture Dean running upto one of our players and brandishing a second yellow and red leaving the whole stadium perplexed. Fellaini probably elbows Amartey and goes down clutching his arm.

Well aka is an acronym for "also known as" but I'm pretty sure the OP means it in the sense of "in the way we did at" in which case he's using the wrong term and wants to use the adopted French phrase "a la" (aka à la) meaning "in the manner/style of" (well, to be precise à la also means "with" or "at the" depending on context but in English we just use it in the sense described, in other words we say à la à l'anglaise).

Schlupp is a bit of a conundrum. He has shown that he can be extremely dangerous in the past. In the season we did the great escape he was quite prominent. Obviously he has the physical capabilities. We have seen him destroy teams and create chances, but only in certain matches. He has the ability, he however doesn't apply himself. He is good only occasionally and is lazy, doesn't often apply himself properly, has no composure and can't make decisions. His problems seem to be largely mental.

I still think he could be a very good player, but he is a long way off.

I think he needs to play, I don't think that will be here currently yet I don't really want to sell him due to his potential.
