reynard Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 They will be well up for this one and I think he will "rest" Rooney which will be bad news for us. Carrick will be back? We can't defend and our form this season against anyone decent isn't encouraging. Haven't we only won there 6 times in our entire history? Would take a point right now.

I would argue most played well, Albrighton, Mahrez, Slimani and Fuchs are in very good form. Honestly this forum baffles me, why so many moany cvnts.
crazyleicester Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 They have quite a few first teamers playing and even more on the bench. Ibra rested is understandable but Rashford benched means he starts against us I think. Rooney finally playing in a more forward position as well. Hopefully Northampton can give them a bit of a scare (unlikely) but whatever happens come 10pm at least they will all still be in Northampton and hopefully come Saturday lunchtime we will have a slight physical edge over them.
foxinsocks Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 Maybe best for us if they win easy tonight...
crazyleicester Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 You know JM is feeling it when he started celebrating with fist pumps when he though Rooney had put them two up only to find out the goal was off-side!

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 Interesting one this. We're capable of winning it, we came very close in the shield but only just lost out. Hopefully we will do alright.
yorkie1999 Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 If we just go at them, their defence will crumble. Could be a game for okazaki.
Foxxed Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 I'm looking forward to a bit more Vahrezani action, although how to team works as a unit will be a lot more important.
biggs Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 Northampton are 1-1 with them now. Might be 4 losses in a row
fuchsntf Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 Schlupp to play...he never has 2 poor games, after each other....
Heymister2015 Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 I think the big hole down the middle will reappear! Amartey has had good games against poor opposition and a terrible game against top opposition. I think the big pitch/occasion will show those frailties again. I'm predicting 3-1 United. We need January and silva to arrive ASAP

I personally don't see him being strong enough or quick enough to play that role against the best teams. Early days yet, he may yet grow into the role....

Being pretty much our only option at the moment, every match he improves is a huge bonus to us. And Mendy always seemed more of a creative midfielder, than a defensive. I hope Drinky's taken Amartey under his wing.
Clever Fox Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 I Think we'll go with the same line up as last week against Burnley. I just hope DD recovers sufficiently from last night to exertions to play well. He's such a big player for us right now. I doubt Mendy will play and so it's a big ask of Amartey with his level of experience. It's hard to call it because a lot will depend on which Utd turns up. Their nervous and vulnerable at the minute. If we get at them and go ahead they may collapse. I'd like to see us go 3 at the back and 4 across the middle bringing Schlupp on the left and move Albrighton to the right. And 3 up top. Our top three will frighten and worry them, forcing to keep more players bak in defence. This should help ease the pressure on our midfield, giving them a little time and space. I believe we can win but right now I'd take a Draw.
Mikey Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 Praying its Rooney and Fellaini starting in midfield with Pogba, and not Carrick and Herrera. Not basing that just on this game v Northampton by the way before anyone points out they're in League One.

jammie82uk Posted 21 September 2016 Posted 21 September 2016 Stat time Manchester United are unbeaten in seven home Premier League games against the Foxes (W5 D2), conceding just four goals in that time. Leicester have won one of their last 18 league trips to Old Trafford (D5 L12), claiming victory in January 1998 courtesy of a Tony Cottee winner. The Red Devils have scored in each of their last 14 Premier League games against Leicester, netting 33 goals. Jamie Vardy has scored in three of his four games against Manchester United for Leicester in all competitions. Jose Mourinho has suffered 12 defeats in his last 23 league games as a manager. His previous 12 league defeats as a boss came over a period of 110 games. The Portuguese boss has suffered three consecutive league defeats just once before in his 16-year managerial career; at Chelsea between October-November 2015. Jose Mourinho has not won any of his last four league meetings against a team led by Claudio Ranieri, including defeats in the last two games (W0 D2 L2). Islam Slimani has scored 22 goals in 23 league appearances so far in 2016, after adding to his 20 Portuguese Liga goals with two more on his Premier League debut last weekend. Slimani has scored nine headed goals in league competition in 2016 – seven for Sporting Lisbon in the Portuguese Liga and two for Leicester City in the Premier League. Zlatan Ibrahimovic has scored in six successive home appearances in league competition (four for PSG, two for Man Utd), netting 12 times in these six games. Manchester United have covered 526.6km in the Premier League so far this season; lower than any other side. Against Watford on MatchDay 5, Man Utd ran just 98.9km; their second lowest distance in a single Premier League match since the start of 2013-14 (when tracking data first became available).
