to be fair schlupp didn't start half the games DD,mahrez and vardy have started and when he has he's never had a run in the same position to try and stake a claim so its always going to be inconsistent with him...

i personally love when he takes it round 7 defenders then somehow hits the corner flag cos he just blasts it as hard as he can...

i like him though....i thought he might start due to united's pace of martial, rashford, lingard but we'll find out soon...

think we'll nick it 2-1

Manchester to Watford = direct fast train service

Leicester to Manchester = no direct train service

I guess the powers that be are not prepared to allow for the coach to become stuck on the motorway in the event of a traffic issue. cant believe Manchester is too far - from EMA, the A50 to stoke is a dual carriageway and then the M6 to Manchester isn't so far. like you say, they surely cant save much time flying. did they really fly ???

I think the friday afternoon traffic is probably the reason, given that the traffic round Manchester is really bad at peak times

It will be a Jose mastermind of a victory for them. His constant winging about referees all but guarantees them a penalty, pair that with we always seem to allow players to get their 'first goals' for their club, so that's Pogba on the score sheet too.

I'd be delighted with a point, but I think we will struggle today.

Wonder if Claudio will start Okazaki rather than Slimani, at least until half time. He probably provides a bit more defensive cover.

Right, like Liverpool

Last 2 games Slimani started, Leicester won. Conceded "0"

Last 2 games Okazaki started, Leicester lost. Conceded "8"

Yes, wouldn't argue, but Man U are probably a different proposition to either Brugge or Burnley, and I wonder if Claudio might be a bit more cautious, and bring on Slimani later to try to get a win.

Having said that I'd like to see as much of him (Slimani) as possible as he is a very exciting prospect for us. If he does start they will need to go for it from the off.

Understabdable...

but I do prefer Claudio to keep the same 11 , I like the way Vardy Mahrez Slimani is shaping....keep the momentum going. Football is not an exact science so no result is guaranteed, but surely I see them giving it all.

I'm expecting Rooney to break his shit streak against us, in that same vain!

We can take these if we turn up.

Everyone seems to be negative atm because of the Liverpool game, but so far they demolished Arsenal (4-3 flattered arsenal) and outplayed Chelsea (2-1 flattered them). Yeah we didn't perform, but there's no shame in losing to this Liverpool side right now.

And a midweek loss to one of the most rich clubs in the world in a cup that means nothing by our B team shouldn't mean anything.

Cheer up lads! :scarf:

Even if we buy Silva etc he'll be CL cup tied, and come in half way through the season.

We should get behind Amartey.

Because his confidence and improvements will be massive for us this season.

Massively getting behind him and the new dynamic of Slim in the team.

Looking forward to the match!

Three losses in a week and a ropey win against Northampton means they're under the cosh big time. This is a grew opportunity for us. If we scorns first , that stadium will be very uncomfortable for those under pressure players. 2-0.

If Mendy was fit I would of gone 4-3-3 for this, but as he isn't I think we'll stick to 4-4-2, therefore like Liverpool it all depends how Amartey does when protecting the back four. We couldn't contain Liverpool's quick play on the ball & their movement off it, I can't see United moving the ball as quickly though, so hopefully that benefits us. Like the community shield match I think it all depends on Ibrahimovic, one beating of Morgan he will more than likely score.

Zieler

Simpson - Morgan - Huth - Fuchs

Mahrez - Amartey - Drinkwater - Albrighton

Slimani - Vardy

Subs - Hamer, Hernandez, Schlupp, King, Gray, Musa, Okazaki

I'd be happy with another draw at Old Trafford, Mike Dean will probably cost us though with one of his ridiculous decisions.

Well aka is an acronym for "also known as" but I'm pretty sure the OP means it in the sense of "in the way we did at" in which case he's using the wrong term and wants to use the adopted French phrase "a la" (aka à la) meaning "in the manner/style of" (well, to be precise à la also means "with" or "at the" depending on context but in English we just use it in the sense described, in other words we say à la à l'anglaise).

For a llama with an insatiable hunger for hands, you're pretty smart!

We have to be positive with the ball and tight as a unit withou it.

Signs they can be got at especially physically at centre half so Slimani has a big role today....

if Carrick plays we need to try to stop him dictating the play.....he is quality!

Concerned about us defensively as the back 5 have not looked great away apart from at Brugge but today will be a real test.....Vardy putting in a performance with Mahrez and Albrighton going forward will be key .....lets get some crosses in to test em!!

The mental side of the lpool fixture with the big Unknown (for most of these boys) of a CL fixture just days away shouldn't be underestimated.

Tuesday night at home will be less in the back of their minds today. I expect them to be much better in their heads than at either the KCOM or anfield.

Whether Claudio sets sets them up in a way where they can see enough of the ball to get a result remains to be seen.

As someone said previously, there is never a safe time to play these scums. If they were on a winning streak you'd always fear for the reffs to favor them,

same case when they are having a rough patch like nowdays.

That game could go either way.

You can be assured that Moaningho will motivate and set-up his squad to put an end to their loosing streak and finaly "click" against us.

But to my eyes, they really are playing like dog shite from the start of this season. The score against Man City was faltering for them, because they really took a beating during an hour, they couldn't even get a hold of the ball and should have lost 4-1.

I can see us battering them.

Okay... i'm never one to bring up extravagance... but the lads are currently flying to Manchester. I mean that's completely ridiculous isn't it? Surely it takes longer to get them all to east mids on a plane of it and then to a hotel in Manc than it would to get on the club coach! lollol

Utd got the train down to Watford last week for christ sake!

Meh... i'm not complaining but it does seem silly, London... Wales... North East/South West I can completely understand, but Manchester! lol

I'm not a fan of driving to Manchester, it can be a nightmare dealing with the M6

Getting sick of the bastard Schlupp battering. Have we always got have one player we all call a shit ****? I mean when it was Alan Rogers I could half understand it but Schlupp? ****ing leave him alone. Hes an academy  product who tries his balls off and helped us go up and win the league. He scored a screamer v Oxford, played great v Barça and shame he got injured or would have started the season better. How about supporting players who play for the club instead of slagging them off.

Fyi, I do support the team at games. And I mean properly - not just turning up to sit down.

That aside however on this forum I will not tow your line of saying somebody 'tries his balls off' when he is the laziest player in the squad, nor will I be appreciative of qualities I do not believe Jeff possesses.

As for scores a screamer against Oxford - they are a league 1 side, so no prizes for that - and playing great against Barca - running fast and making a 5yd pass - great, but even a blind pig will find an acorn once in a while.

As you can see won't be swayed on Jeff's footballing abilities no matter what anyone may say, as I have seen him play since that hat trick in the league cup years ago which promised much more than has been delivered.

For the team we are now he is simply not good enough.

If it would have helped the transfer process I would have carried him West Bromwich before the transfer window closed, which probably illustrates the strength of my feelings.

Dean may be the nominated ref but it'll be a joint Dean / Rooney partnership, with assistance from Mourinho on the sidelines. He's allowed to put his hands on refs, swear at them, point out opponents previous fouls to claim an accumulative yellow card and in turn the refs call him "Wayne". I wonder if a newcomer like Slimani would be allowed the same relationship? Fearing that if Carrick plays Pogba will drive forwards more and this could be the day he comes good plus the free kicks around the box that Wayne requests for his team plus the lottery of spotting grappling at set pieces. Remember that by Deans own standards something as soft as Morgans "foul" against West Ham should be a penalty so I look forward to seeing Utd mark Huth, Slimani and Morgan at corners without touching them....that's if Dean intends to be be consistant! Also there's his attitude to Vardy, little chance of winning a pen and not allowed to speak to him in case the bumptious prat puts it in his report (a report that omitts things like "I was shit today to be honest". Capable of a 1-1 today but anything could happen with such an inconsitant ref.

Edit - whoops, got my Mike Dean and Jon Moss mixed up!
